Man! my favorite world cup , a pity that we were not. The qualifying phase against Yugoslavia was the closest in history (they were always our great rivals). However, in the play-off game they overwhelmed us. They only won 1-0, but they were able to score 3 or 4 goals without any problems. Johan Cruyff, who was already playing in Spain, said: "I don't think that ever, neither in the past nor in the future, can Spain play a worse game than this one". And it is that we played our worst game in such a trascendental moment. Fortunately, since then we have never missed any other World Cup 😎
@@guillermobarrio55 Spain's World Cup record is much the same as England's (they failed to qualify in '70 and '74 and were pitiful in '78 and '82 and by the Millennium both countries were seen as being 'under achievers' but the Spanish managed to unearth the 'Tiki-Taka' generation and haven't looked back. I can't see England doing that!

Todavia me acuerdo de aquel partido de desempate en Frankfurt y como me acuerdo de aquel Katalisky ese, como nos jodio el sueño de ir a un mundial, pero hay que reconocer que ellos jugaron mejor que nosotros, yugoslavia tenia una buena seleccion, pero bueno cuatro años despues nos vengamos con aquel gol de ruben cano.

Cuando lo he visto me he pensado que era España para la Euro 76, pero no, vaya sorpresa. Supongo que pondrán más ya que hay muy pocos vídeos todavía. Pero es raro que metan uno de clasificación al mundial 74.

We played well in Belgrad, but came out empty. But we did beat them in the 78 qualy.
