    Back in 2008 I won a Caribbean cruise on the UBT online game (along with a bunch of cash prizes). Such a weird game -- my friend wanted to go out to the bars or something, so I just went all in every hand and ended up so far ahead that it was absurd.

    This was an EXTREMELY interesting video to watch. I knew nothing about blackjack tournaments and the layers of thought that go into strategy for this is EXTREMELY fascinating. Thanks SO MUCH for this video!

    I met some really great ppl playing BJT. One of the local casinos had a free tourney to spike interest (it worked cause now I think they run it every tuesday for the month)... this one lady and I played at a table that was very tense as everyone wanted to win ($20K casino promo chips to then be played at any table game you wish for live money) and she leaned over and said "stop praying that I lose" and I fell out laughing.

    Having won several high value tournaments and placed 3rd in one 7 figure tournament I can tell you they're worth playing but at the final table you're likely to find the same rotation of sharp people who will look to "chop".

    Very interesting. However, I think he underemphasized the importance of Basic Strategy and Card Counting. In theory, they would still be relevant to playing decisions. However, they would be less relevant for betting decisions. The tournament makes for an interesting game because you are competing against other players and not just against the dealer.

    if you're counting cards on at an 8-deck shoe table and they put the card cutter thing at the end of the shoe with about 1 deck remaining, do you divide by 7 to get the true count? or do you still divide by 8?

    I’ve been playing Basic Strategy and other players tell me I’m taking the dealers bust card. For example, I hit an A,7 with a dealer K and got dealt a K. Dealer had K,6 gave himself a 3 for 19. Does BS work better when going heads up? In the end, I was unapologetic because I’m focused on my hand, but the table wasn’t happy with me.

    • @luisalexander8492
      @luisalexander8492 8 месяцев назад

      Does not matter, nobody knows what the next card will be, your decision could've saved or hurt the table, it has the same chance of it happening because nobody knows what the next card is, ploppies will get mad at you when you "hurt" the table but will keep their mouth shut when you "save" the table, it's all the same. 18 is a losing hand so if you have option to hit ie a soft 18 BS says to hit so you will always hit no matter if there is 100 players on the table

    Hello, I have a question, not related to tournaments. But I have only practiced counting on an app over the past couple months, and have gotten really fast and accurate at keeping the running count. There have been occasions when I have a running count of -10 or worse but I'm on a winning streak. While it's great I'm winning hands but I'm keeping my bets low. Do you keep the bet low, or step away if the count is awful but seem to be on a winning variance?

    I might be wrong here but I think the advice on whether it’s worth entering a tournament is a bit wrong…
    It shouldn’t be simply the number of people entering the contest, as like is said in the video, only the final table gets paid. So strictly the number of people doesn’t matter… it’s the number of elimination rounds and players per table that matters.
    And even then, this is only valuable if you compare the ratio of the price of admission to the payout Compared against ANOTHER tournament.
    You have to calculate the odds of making it to the final table and then compare the potential win compared to your entrance fee.
    Am I wrong? Basically you’re looking at the number of times you’re exposed to a potential bad shoe vs the cost of entry ( and comparing this to what else is available )

    • @88Nieznany88
      @88Nieznany88 11 месяцев назад

      This doesn't matter. Of course the more the players, the lower the chances you will actually win, but the bigger the payout, so it evens out. What is important is the rake: the fee that casino is taking. If they take 50% out of each entrant, you have no way to make money in the long run. If they take 10% fee (for example: tournament costs $100, casino keeps $10, $90 goes to prize pool), then as long as you're better than 11% of the field, you will make money in a long run.

    I placed 3rd at a local holdem tournament. However i know for a fact everyone plays at teams. If you get competitive, you are competing against teams at all times. You are required to play as a team or else you will lose. The biggest teams use cheating and exploitation.

    So, the reason you stopped playing blackjack professionally and started selling your online course... is that because you've been banned from casinos? Because if you haven't been banned, then why bother taking the time and energy to make a blackjack course when you can just continue raking in the cash at casinos using your methods? Not being sarcastic, I'm genuinely curious.
