I would try Varsol, I used this before these chain cleaning devices were invented when I used to soak and scrub the chain in a paint can after taking it off the bike, it wouldn't hurt to still use it today, and its cheap too.
Nicholas Joseph Hi Nicholas, the chain really does not need to be submerged in fluid. The brushes do a great job of getting everything wet, scrubbed and flushing the dirt away. Your chain will be nice and clean.
Great tutorial. Looks very easy and simple.I've just purchased the Filzer and It arrived today. Cant wait to grease up my chain.

it doesn't articulate the chain links while going thru the device
It looks nicely built, but I'm looking for something that will submerge the chain. I don't think this is what I'm looking for. :(

I refill the cleaner ultill its clear. , dry, lube , done
I'm not sure what degreasers CNDTires sells....sorry.
