I bought four out of the 5 formats, just waiting for the picture disc to arrive. This LP means a lot to me. I remember my mother buying this for me on tape when Argos used to sell music.😊 Thanks for making the video 🫡
Great video. Excellent presentation of all that's available. I bought the 6 cd set. Other than the Beatles, this is the top for me. Synchronicity 40th is a grand slam!
I just streamed the box set today. Excellent bonus material. The live show from LA is amazing. This cd box set is on my “to buy” list. Paul, thanks for unboxing the other formats.
This Box Set is definitely the proverbial Christmas Day come early for me - I am ecstatic!!! To the powers that be, if you care to release "Outlandos d'Amour, Reggatta de Blanc, Zenyattà Mondatta and Ghost In The Machine in similar boxes, well... I'm writing the cheque for 'em right now!
thank u i watched ur video time and time again to decide. as i have police albums set and 2synchronicity disk. and few vinyl bought years ago. i went for 6 cd version i had to have it. i cant wait to arrive in oz thanku once again. cheers
Maybe the material that didn’t make it to the 4 vinyl will end up on a record store day release. The live tracks for example will probably be released on RSD.
Does anyone know why they waited so long to release this archive material? Has something happened recently (eg. legally) that let these tracks be released? Had they released this in the 90s when everyone was buying physical media they would have sold millions of this set.
@@lucalone if you’re talking about the band (other than Sting, who is still raking it in from his constantly touring) - they won’t make money off this release because no one buys physical media anymore, that’s the point, innit! (Obviously some people do buy physical media but not in quantities that are significant enough for band members to make any money from.) If they need money the only way to do so now is tour.
Apart from the inspiration from the Beatles, on a more cynical note, since Sting has sold his catalog, the cost for him to put out these box sets won’t come out of his pocket, only from UMG & the private equity group. This is handy when researching for archive material.
@@simonharrison8860 ah now I understand why these box sets are being released now. It’s got nothing to do with the band needing money. It’s to do with the rights holders.

I already own 13 copies on vinyl, favorite album of all time. Do I need this? Yes.
Oh by the way, this would be my box set of the year. It really puts the album into perspective as regards to the way the songs have been fleshed out.
Truth! Amazing versions

Yes! Would love a Ghost box. The picture disc from just a while back actually sounds good, cool alternate track listing too
@@tendraftsdeep Yea I loved that too
@@EsromFF my brother
Just got this. Probably gonna open it up & start listening tomorrow.
I have the cd-box, the picture disc, and almost by mistake the 2-cd. I probably will buy the 2 color vinyl.
And great video here, thank you, subscribed

I've already commented here that this is a very good video review but the comment has disappeared 😢
I got the 2LP color pressing, sounds great but the red record was warped. It still played though.
There are 5 in total. CD box, vinyl box, picture disc, 2lp coloured vinyl and the double cd.
Is "Alternate Sequence Edition" different from canon release? Like additional vocals on "Invisible Sun" or extended intros?
Walking In Your Footsteps (Extended Version) is exclusive to the picture disc. All the other tracks are the same mixes.
I got the 6CD Edition & I bought the Double Vinyl Edition..4 LP seemed a bit to too much for less tracks than the 6 CD
I bought it first day, but why does that Asian lady feature so much?? Is she a member of the Police??
Maybe she was a girlfriend of Andy? Nothing about her on the inner sleeve notes!
@@colinmitchell6872thanks, but why feature her so many times? The other members don’t have their wives/girlfriends..
How many formats are there?
5

I think because they didn't need the money back in the 90's
I read they took inspiration from The Beatles Get Back movie, realizing people are, in fact, interested in how songs take shape!
