I'm thinking a turning/parking area where the concrete road ends. We'll build a temporary outdoor kitchen right by the house, might not have room to park there (maybe after we build a proper kitchen). Thank you for watching/commenting!
If power outages are common or a concern, you might phase in solar by getting batteries and inverter first and adding panels later. I plan to do this on my next build which will be early next year. The grid can charge the batteries so work isn't impacted by outages. Admittedly this is the most expensive part of solar but get the full size inverter and just a few batteries to start.
Yeah, my plan is definitely to phase in solar. I just wanted grid access first so we can weld etc. Power outages are always a concern here, so I hope we can have a small solar backup system up next year.
@@peteswanson-j4i Ancestral domain brings with it some issues for sure, but in some ways it's good that they need permits here (logging companies took advantage previously, which led to fighting etc)
Your profile picture looks just like our cat! And thank you for the advice. I am not sure exactly how high we are, I think 780-900 m, so close at least.
@@ABetterLifePH Anything you need im here i have other ideas for crops im same like you from Europe Filipina wife we are in Dumaguete . Now im in Eu working.
Haha, yeah, at least when it's humid it's quite the workout! I'll start parking the car up the hill soon, I hope, when the construction is done. We do need the cardio though...
Wish I had tht hill to train every morning........private road..........awesome, u need to plan and run up tht hill 4 times everyday.......u would be fit like a fiddle like ur stunning mountain goat wife .........😜😜😜😜
We're planning on getting a dog, to force us to exercise. Our cardio is pretty bad right now, I am still getting over a cold as well. But yes, getting in shape is great and we both definitely need to get on that as soon as we can move in. Thank you for watching!
That little child is precious. He is adorable ❤
He's very funny. I'll see if I can catch him after he wakes up, he's a complete baby (clinging to his mom etc) for the first half hour.
I think I would make a turn around by the house so you can drive up and down. Looking awesome! Thanks for sharing!

i'm glad i didnt have to deal with any 'permits' and stuff. i just built our house, in and out in 6 months , done. 28,000 US , materials&labor.
Well, I hope you have all necessary papers though. Could become problematic otherwise. But yeah, red tape sucks!
@@ABetterLifePH deed the lot, thats all we needed here in the boonies, but that was 2015 ,things may have changed..

Yes don’t depend on local power plant, take charge and get solar power. Yourself.
That's the plan, but grid first.
If you are above 900m of sea lvl plant Arabica coffee.

solar is good
We'll get there eventually, I hope. But yeah, feels silly to not have solar in the Philippines.
