Thank you for taking up Gacharic Spin. I was happy with the positive reaction. They overcame various hardships and arrived at their present form. Many of the bands of this generation are influenced by Maximum the Hormone in no small measure, such as heavy use of transitions. It sounds awkward, but please listen to the song "Mindset" for Gacharic Spin. I consider it the band's masterpiece.
BAND-MAID, Maximum the Hormone and Gacharic Spin (& DOLL$BOXX) are my favorite Japanese bands. Thanks for your reaction. I can’t wait for “MindSet”, my favorite song of the year
The controlled chaos of Gacharic Spin, Hana, guitar and vocals used to play drums, Angelina was brought in to be an entertainer and after taking some lessons from the band is slowly taking on more lead vocals
I would say after their most recent album Angie and Hana are co-lead vocals on the majority of their songs while Oreo and Tomo-Zo get their own songs like usual.
Gacharic Spin are a very talented group of women. Their song Mind Set has a more funk/jazz sound. A lot have also suggested their side project Doll$Boxx which I also highly recommend! This project began around the time GS original singer, Armmy, left the band. If I'm not mistaken, Fuki was originally going to help them out on tour with vocals. They enjoyed working together so they began writing original music, formed Doll$Boxx and ended up dropping 2 albums. During that time Fuki, was also (and still is) the lead singer for the metal band, Unlucky Morpheus (another great band worth checking out) 🤘😊🤘
Love Gacharic Spin, their full catalog is really musically diverse. I have a feeling you'll definitely enjoy Mindset as well. It's a great showcase of their musical chops and creativity
Another great inventive band from Japan I have tried to summerize the band line up chronologically. I've not included every detail F Chopper Koga: Bass, band leader (2009-present) Hana: Drums, Vocals (2009-present) Tomo-Zo: Guitar, Vocals (2009-present) Armmy: Vocals (2009-2012, died October 15, 2015) Armmy left in 2012 for health reasons, and later passed away in 2015. The sound varies quite a lot through their catalogue, for example when Tomo-zo is lead the songs tend to be much more poppy There is also a very good side project called Doll$boxx with the core band (Koga, Hana, Tomo-zo, Oreo) joined by Fuki (singer from Light Bringer, Unlucky Morpheus and more)
@@cepho8349 Yeah. Pretty much. Koga was going to get out of music all together if she couldn't get her HS bestie Hana to join up for a new band. Koga had just left her first band, after she had a very bad experience. So Hana left the band she was in and agreed to help her friend.
These ladies are indeed fantastic. And I fully agree that you should react to a live performance at some point. Their energy level is extremely high and I love their antics on stage.
This song was easily the most beautiful thing to be released this summer to me! All of these ladies are amazing musicians. The only one you can not see in this video is drummer Yuuri as she was on maternity leave when the video was shot. Instead, the session drummer that also performed with them on gigs during that time plays here. The drum recordings for the album were done by Hana, the guitarist/vocalist you can see standing in the center of the circle. She used to be their drummer. F Chopper Koga on bass is the absolute insane slap bass machine and has been HIGHLY respected for her skills for a LONG time now. She's actually one of my idols as a bassist. Btw: Koga is also the lady laying there in the nude. Someone actually uploaded a version of this video with English subtitles and understanding the lyrics really kicked this song up another few notches for me! That video was actually right at the top of your google search. Absolutely check that one out! :) You will be surprised again btw: Gacharic Spin songs cover a LOT of musical ground and other songs can sound totally different from this one.
GS is amazing! You REALLY should check out their live stuff. Redline or Tamashii is absolutely bonkers in the best way possible! They started back in 2009 and are in their mid 30's. In 2019 (2018?) they added a new drummer (she's missing in this video because of maternity leave. This drummer were used on tour until she got back). I wouldn't agree with the Wiki about the main singer. The pink haired singer that's about 15 years younger then the rest of the band. She was ment to have a hype girl kind of role, but they accidentally happened to found a diamond in the rough and I'd say she'd the closest to a lead singer they've had in a long time. When she joined she didn't really know how to sing, had no stage experience and was about to quit before they did their first show together. Now she sings, raps, screams, write songs, have a leading role in virtually all of their media appearances AND take on the role of a energiser bunny. Redline: ruclips.net/video/9r6YeSatOac/видео.html Tamashii: ruclips.net/video/Jt7-GGRa3nc/видео.html Tamashii, played on toy instruments because why not: ruclips.net/video/DzoxNWNnFpw/видео.html
Angie wasn’t going to quit, she was afraid the band would fire her because the new lead vocalist they hired quit before she was announced and Angie thought the band would cancel the new formation (this was before yuri was hired as their new drummer).
@@xsundayxcore6137 Angie has said that she was about to quit in a couple of interviews and in a couple she has said she thought they would fire her because the new vocalist quit. From what I understand she took kind of the same role she was supposed to do in the beginning of that tour but by the time they reached Nakano Sun Plaza she had a much bigger role. On the new album I feel she is as much of a lead as Hanna is and I'm all for it! Angie is absolutely amazing! If she was about to quit or thought she'd get fired isn't all that important as long as she is in the band now!
Hardcore Fusion Jazz! They take elements of every Genre. Throw it in a blender and pour a bad ass margarita of sound. So talented. Rock on Brother!😊😎🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

I am sure i can't capture it properly, but this song is about mental health and survival, really, for me. I described it as a primal wail into the darkness with an outstretched hand, literally demonstrated by Angelina in the video. Her opening dramatic line says, "The world is very beautiful" not in a candy, fluffy way but in a desperate and fierce insistence. Her talking section in the middle she talks about smiling even when she is sad etc. There are very well translated versions of this song and Mindset on youtube by the RUclipsr ZMZ. I recommend watching their version of mindset.
Gacharic Spin are a truly amazing band. Mindset is good choice for your next reaction, but there's a lot more to discover and as you can guess by the mix of styles you experienced already. After Mindset I'd recommend checking out some live performances, their energy on stage is second to none. But I'd pick an older one, with an audience. The ones they've done during Covid are amazing as well, but without a real audience, there's just something missing.

What's interesting about this band is that although you've heard a song, I promise that you still don't know what to expect from them going forward. They go in so many different directions that it is impossible to prepare yourself. Honestly, it is a little bit jarring, to the point that it almost puts me off sometimes. Even having said that, they are a supremely talented group. I fully recommend Mindset though, absolute banger of a tune.
