I just bought a new John Deere and it says to engage at full thrttle nd it also says turn the engine to off position at full thrttle. I'm lie you but apparently things have changed.
They were probably off because it kept throwing the belt off. It’s a pain to take them off ever time the belt comes off. Mine are off because it was kicking the belt off 3 or four times a cut. Come to find out my idler pulleys were wore out causing the belt to come off
A relative has a rider where the engagement pulley is slightly at a angle which can create the same thing. I've looked at it and the bolts tight so there's a chance that might need changed
Me either ,I just bought a Pony for 700$ and cut the yard one time ,the belt kept coming off then broke ,gotta new belt ,and it kept slipping off as well and jus now broke..What the crap, wonder if a shorter belt would do any better 🤔
If you have slop in the belt the covers aren't for that reason but to keep an exposed belt from coming off and hitting some un expecting victim nearby.
I got the belt covers on my troybilt 42inch lawnmower but my belt still comes off any suggestions what might be causing it to come off the belt is brand new
If it's got everything that it needs to hold it on then the next thing I would check is the belt itself. Belts from auto parts stors are usually thinner and will come off easier and make sure you have the right size. One thing that may work is when you have it engaged and are about to disengage, move the handle back slowly and it will usually hold onto the belt. If you disengage it fast it tends to sling it off. Good luck my friend
That could be anything Fredrick. Check the connections first, check your battery to see if it is charged, and then check the connection on the starter and ignition switch. That would be my suggestion at first thought
sounds like to me that the fuse blowed. check the wires and the solenoid. the positive terminal spade will attract moisture and cause a no start. check the terminal wires to the battery, sometimes that can become loose and corrode . check those and you will find the issue. also keep the mower clean, you want it to last as long as you last.
Coming off the pulleys is not a big deal , my problem is when it comes off it somehow manages to get off of the two pulleys in the middle with no room to get them back on easily... If its so hard to get the belt installed on the inner pulleys, why does it come off so easily??!! Grrrrrrrr!
Also best not to engage and disengage blades at full throttle...

I thought Roy D. Mercer was working on his lawn mower for a second there.

Pretty sure I overworked the hell out of my Troy bilt and tries to run but if it won’t stay alive could that be the drive belt?
Could be a bad spindle
👍👍👍Thanks
All you gotta do is cut a 1/2 inch out of the belt and JB weld it back together.
LMAO
Low volume
Traps trash in there
Nah bruh
