  • @tonymiller3788
    @tonymiller3788 4 года назад +3

    Yep, you hit on it in this video. Got to let that little motor rev more and it looses that underwhelming feeling you described in the first video. You can't ride it like a 300 2 stroke. You have to ride it more like a 150-200cc 2 stroke, a little clutch and some rpms. Then, like you said, "I could get used to this." But it will still lug you around if you're tired and want to be little lazy or take it easy, unlike the small bore 2t's.

    • @Danger_mouse
      @Danger_mouse 4 года назад +1

      Exactly right.
      Lots of power up the top for hauling arse, enough torque to lug when needed. They're a great engine.
      Even better when updated to Sherco's latest maps at a dealer.
      So smooth 👌

    Kyle, each bike you test should have a special intro graphic... in the beginning of your videos shows specs, dimensions rulered out, dry and wet weight, cost, hp#s, hp and torque charts, list of top mods, their cost, etc... 5 or six smaller photos lined up on the left of the image showing the bike in action... Then offer that as a poster we can buy from you!!!

    Whoever did the chainsaw work on that trail needs to learn how to cut that case/knee/foot ruining deadfall a little further back from the edge of the trail. Once the weeds get tall those can end someone’s day and maybe their riding career. You’re making the cut anyways...just do it a foot into the weeds.

    • @rztrzt

    Where are you riding? I know you ride primarily further North in the Wasatch. I Live in Las Vegas and ride near Mammoth Creek, Utah quite a bit, but there is very little single track. Most trails have been heavily "bombed out" by SXS, or riding in Forest roads. I'm looking for good single tracks where I can disperse camp nearby. Thank you for your help finding some better areas to ride.

      theres a reason yoh see mainly 2 strokes racing enduro and hard enduro. they are a million times easier to ride at low rpms. a big four stroke motor doesnt react as quick to a fast clutch pull in lugging situations and die out. you can run a 2 stroke to the ragged edges of dying and grab the clutch with no gas. it comes right back to life.

      No worries at all to ride with 2T bikes all day, you just ride them differently.
      These are actually lighter than Shercos own 2T model.

    • @orijinalgamesta9738
      @orijinalgamesta9738 4 года назад

      Yea well I don’t think any hard enduro riders will be switching to 4t any time soon. Stalling out and engine braking get old pretty quick. Then there’s the extra heat, which leads to more battery drain from a fan trying to keep it cool in addition to the e-start every time it dies. I’ve obviously had my share of 4t’s, and for where i like to ride they’re useless. No matter how it’s ridden

      Need to brush up on a different brand of bike mate.
      No, they aren't the first choice for racing hard Enduro, but we ride that sort of terrain near us.
      The Sherco has a 220w stator and have never suffered a flat battery in 200+ hours of riding them, despite always running the headlight.
      As I said, no flame out issues in the Sherco tuning like lots of other brands. You can stall the engine, but it won't just pop and die when you open the throttle.
      On the engine braking, it's perfect to help control the bike on steep decent where the 2t riders come down gathering speed with the rear wheel locked.
      All that said, I'm about to take delivery of a 2021 2T 300SE Factory just for a change after 3 years on the 300 4T.
      I'm not one eyed and can appreciate all bikes for what they are 👍

    • @orijinalgamesta9738
      @orijinalgamesta9738 4 года назад

      Dangermouse says you.. and good luck with the Sherco. There’s two of em in our group, I’ll pass. And holla at me when a 4t wins WESS 😂

    • @orijinalgamesta9738
      @orijinalgamesta9738 4 года назад

      Dangermouse idk how i missed this before,,,so you’re saying a 4t will descend a steep hill in a more controlled manner than a 2t because it has more engine braking? Yea i got that screenshot, thank you so much. And from your description of Sherco’s “anti flame out technology” Honda beat em to it back in the 80s with an XR200. So brush up on your own knowledge. BTW, dont drop that new 300 lol, Sherco plastics are made with the cheapest brittle material they could find

    I like how you've bitched about having to shift too often before but when talking about 4 strokes vs 2 strokes at around 3:40 in this video you mention that it's one of the reasons you like a 2 stroke more so which is it do you like shifting a lot? Also I've only ever noticed having to shift sooner on a smaller cc bike so idk whether to respect your opinion anymore I remember you were batching so much about it in that one video I had to shut it off i got tired of hearing it lol

    Holy shizz balls dude! Kyle’s Scottish accents are almost as good as his catch phrases! Sorry Kyle, just hackin on ya. Sherco looks good so far. Map update would depend on the build date of the bike.
      The updated maps were, from memory, sent out to the dealers in late February. Not sure when they would have been loading them on the production line.
      I had a screenshot of the dyno graph on my old phone... but it has died 😔😔
      The shop was a Sherco / Kawasaki store and they supported several Kawasaki MX race bikes.
      I remember the dyno techs comments that the 300 Sherco was the same top end as their race 250, but more everywhere else on the way up the curve.
      I certainly had no issues keeping up with my mates on 450s and 300 2T bikes in single tracks.
