The combination of flute and harp is ethereal and light, yet also oddly warm and lyrical with hints of passion. Debussy selections take to these instruments easily to the next level.
The work has something resembling a danceable form - something clearly noticed by US R&B singer-songwriter Alicia Keys, whose song 'Like The Sea' samples Debussy's first arabesque. Arrangements of Debussy's arabesque has been recorded and performed by musicians such as Zoltán Kocsis, Yehudi Menuhin, Gautier Capuçon, Emmanuel Pahud
