Thank you for an excellent video. I have a Dutch friend, who has lived here on Lesbos for 15 years. For a year ago he escaped from the more arid Mediterrenean climate to Madeira with more stabile temperatures and plentiful rain. He believes Madeira to be one of the last places to go under because of climate change. Good luck ! I have forwarded this video to him. He will be delighted.
Tip o' the hat Mick. I'm absolutely gobsmacked. This is the best camera work I have ever seen in my life. I'm 73 and I've been watching travelogues since the '50s (although I'm a house mouse :) Every scene, the content, the timing the framing, pace and everything that I can't even think of or put into words is spot on, stunning. Anyone teaching cinematography in college should use this for how to get it right (for the word cinematography, I typed videography and it wouldn't accept the spelling, so I checked around and the word doesn't even exist - what? I've heard it dozens of times). When I was a kid, there was no TV and then it started around 1950-52. We would go to the theater or a roofed sports arena for travelogues. Then when TV came along, there was a travelogue show every Sunday hosted by George Perot coming out of Detroit and we never missed it. Of course, I watch a ton of youtube all day all night. When baseball season is over, I rarely even turn on the TV. Anyway, Thanks
@@mickandtrudie Hey Mick, Richard in Michigan here. I live about 50 miles north of Detroit. I was born in Flint which is about 60 miles north of Detroit. Flint used to have maybe a dozen GM plants, but that has changed drastically. OK on Trudie and getting a second opinion; that's smart. Lovely name that - I haven't heard it since I was a boy. Trudy & Kay Huber lived around the corner a ways. You know, they had the best pear and sweet cherry trees. Oo, oo, I enjoyed your video on the four cameras btw. I watched it twice. I just wish I had the $800 USD to get that Sony FDR-AX53 or the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ2500. It's black friday here in the US with great price reductions, and just a few hours ago, I had an AX53 in my hands at BestBuy and showed my son how the lens is gimboled. We were both there to buy the Sony CX405 which they had for $70 off at $159. It's only HD and not 4K as you know, but we both needed something and couldn't spring for the $800 cameras. I mean for $159 bux and they gave me a $20 gift card to boot. We both got one (my son's 50 on the 27th). My predicament is that I just love model airplanes - always have and I used to really enjoy shooting RC planes at the club I was a member of. Thing is, you absolutely have to have an eyepiece / viewfinder. that's number one because you can't be looking at some flat panel with the sun and that's the predicament I was mentioning and that's how I ran into your cameras video. I was trying to find out what's the least expensive eyepiece cameras (that are decent). I found out an eyepiece bumps the price about $650 - can you believe that? For the planes, you also have to have manual zoom and manual focus because these RC planes are going around pretty much in an oval - some fast, some slow and usually no more than four at once. Oh, it's good fun I tell ya and I miss the guys - probably several are gone now. That was the Holly Cloud Hoppers (RC Club). That was all nitro then and 2 & 4 stroke - oh, the sound of those 4 strokes, oh yeah! Now-a-days, these kids are into electric (which is OK)(I guess :) I used to shoot the video years ago with a VHS-C camera which I paid an arm and a leg for. Now, I just won't know how this tiny CX405 will do at the flying field, but my VHS-C and my son's HI-8 are useless, so we had to make a move. Where you at in the world right now and are you from England? Gosh, I have watched a ton of youtube regarding vintage airplanes, diesel engines, free flight, rubber powered etc If you're British, you might recognize my search words: youtube search Cocklebarrow, Old Warden, Middle Wallop, Shilton, Bowden, BMFA, diesel engines and vintage aircraft.
Beautiful & wonderful voice
