    Fikile Mbalula's tendency to run his mouth before his brain processes and contextualizes moments and sentiments is coming home to roost. But more broadly, this is the ultimate roost for the ANC as a whole. Prof. Patrick Bond's book titled "Talk Left, Walk right" is now playing out in full force and I'm so glad it's happening.

      @@iMonsieurAnthonyas an outsider looking in, how would you rate SA's democracy compared to western countries?

    • @iMonsieurAnthony
      @iMonsieurAnthony Месяц назад +4

      @@Yaalozit is difficult to compare to the West because you can’t really easily compare West to the West. For example, New Zealand democracy and parliamentary process is much different to America, so trying to compare South Africa is even more harder for me. That being said, South Africa without a doubt stands unique and apart her neighbours in Africa and countries in Asia and even Eastern Europe. You have more participation in elections, you have more political options, you have a vibrant and if we go by recent election results effective opposition, you utilise your democratic tools especially Parliament much better than many countries that have been democracies for longer or are in neighbourhoods where democracy is the norm (for example you are much more proper in parliamentary democracy than every Eastern European country I have looked at), your democracy is also more interactive than say South Korea or Japan where I feel people just expect the Govt to do it all without much input from the voters, and people there don't really keep tabs on their government, so overall I think, despite the challenges, you should be very proud.

      Don't forget, capitalists are paying your salary while the communists are stealing it. Capitalists also invented RUclips and the phone or pc you using to view and comment, as you cannot have innovation in a communist country. Just look at North Korea and Russia, and how the people are suffering there. Capitalism is entrepreneurship and job creation. you can only alleviate poverty with capitalist strategies, but you want communism because you are too lazy to study, learn and work, as you want everything for free. No intelligent and wise person is against capitalism. Only the uneducated and unread support communists. You need to pick up a book sometime.

SACP must just remove itself from being an alliance so that those who really represent Hani's direction remain, those who will stay with ANC's benefits let them be. The few that remains mustn't be worried because people loved and still love Chris Hani will pick it up - that's a promise. I’m no fan of the ANC but it’s incorrect to say that they reason for not going into coalition with the MK was because they “are the party of state capture”. The ANC’s chief negotiator Mdumiseni Ntuli, ANC acting spokesperson Zuko Godlimpi and SG Fikile Mbalula have all said on numerous interviews during and after the GNU negotiations that the MK’s central and uncompromising demand is that they will only go into coalition if Cyril Ramaphosa steps down as president of the ANC and country. I think it a fair to say that no serious organisation could negotiate any workable agreement with such bad faith demands.
    If we are going to be clear in our critique of the GNU we must also be clear about the viability of alternative arrangements. There is as much responsibility for not being able to present workable conditions for coalition from the non-GNU parties. They deserve as much scrutiny for not making a workable arrangement that could’ve crowded out the DA and other right wing forces.

    I may not always agree with your approach on interviews, but you are correct it yields more results than anywhere else.
    The South African political landscape is changing dramatically and what I can see is that the ANC is dissolving, the left is getting a strong footing in the form of MKP and the right leaning elements in the ANC will gravitate towards the DA. Is this a bad thing? It depends on what side of the fence you are on. One thing for sure though, the sentimentalists will suffer a great deal. Let's take a leaf from the Great Roman empire. Coming back to our sentimentalists the SACP, they are still longing for the era when their party seemed like a viable contributer to the narrative that shaped the country back in the 80's. What we have today is a group of hangers on because they know deep down that they are nothing without the ANC.
    Why don't they join the "progressive forces" as they also share the same idealogy? They mustn't tell us that they won't work with "corrupt" people because the ANC is also corrupt. The world is changing Mr Mapaila, so you either change, adapt and survive or we will remember you in the same thought as the Soviet Block. Pick a side and stick with it. You talk the talk but you can't even crawl the walk. Talk will always be cheap. It's time the SACP came out and showed us what they are really made of.

      Greatest scam that thing. Imagine R30 000 and pay 36% of tax and some 45%. I just don't understand how government think this will help us and relieve some pressure. Goes to show how government has lost touch with reality even worse if you owe SARS you may not even get 50% of that R30k

    I just rewatched this episode. What are your thoughts Sizwe on the 3 stages of the GNU from now to 2029 and its relationship to SA’s membership in the BRICS alliance? Would there be potential contradictions as the ANC in its coalition with the DA increasingly evolve in support of western neoliberal policies vis-a-vis BRICS’s efforts in countering western hegemony?

    I think an interview should should not be about anyone but the guest; and i find adversarial style is a turn off, the ego of the host cuts the flow and we the audience are easily turned away from the whole interview.
    This channel surpasses all, where i have been able to listen to the "entire interview" to the very end. From 1 to 2 hours i listen to them all, and fast forward your 15 seconds break only😂
