Hi Simone! I saw this the other day online. I’m so happy you got a new pen to enjoy. Hope this pen brings you much happiness! I was comparing this pen to the Esterbrook Candy pen. Thank you for sharing!
I heard this pen goes great with some graham crackers and chocolate. But I prefer Nutella. LOL Someone had to go there. I'm surprized I was the first. Montegrappa makes some great pens. I only have one because I am more enamored with other Italian pens, but they have caught my eye on many occasions, just haven't peaked my interest. I personally like it when the converters are threaded. That way I know it is all the way in, and feels more secure. Which Estie size are you going to get? When you are dipping the pen, are you holding there for a few? Keep the nib in the ink for 3-5 seconds for the ink to get into the feed. It will help so you won't get a thin line.
This is so weird, somehow youtube is hiding comments from me. I'm seeing it now. And I'm still chuckling about the joke! This Montegrappa pen is my very first foray into Italian pens, I have never really been interested in them because I find their designs often to be too exuberant for me. I prefer pens that look like the Lamy 2000 or 3776 or 823. Very understated. One might say even a bit traditional for the latter two. I got the regular Estie. And to answer the last question: I really haven't paid attention as to how long I'm dipping the pen. I'll do it the next chance I have.
@@seemownay May be you have so many comments, you just missed it. There are some understated Italian pens. A couple of years ago the Montegrappa Fortuna was all the talk. You could get them in some typical Italian designs, and just plain black resin. You might like the Fortuna Mule, but don't know if you'd like the metal grip section. There are plain Aurora 88s, and Leonardos too. You'd be able to swap out the nibs as well except on the Auroras. Visconti is straight up Italian. The German in you still like the traditional stuff. Have you tried an ebonite pen? You might like that.
I have a black Montegrappa Elmo 01 with a medium nib which I bought 2nd hand for a bargain price. I like the shape of it, it feels super comfortable in my hand and the nib design is really pretty. I tend to overlook my black pens though… so it‘s a good thing that it‘s inked with a green ink now, that way it gets picked up more often.
Yeah, black pens are not what I'm seeking out or gravitating towards. But since I'm usually picking my pens by "oh, what ink do I want to use next" they still get used. I only had the Jinhao X159 in black at the beginning of the week and now I have three. LOL.
I bought this pen too and love it. I was surprised by how heavy it is, and by how fine the fine nib is! I keep taking it out to use though because it's so pretty. 🥰
After your comment, I went ahead and checked it again and yeah, it is considerably heavier than the estie. I love my medium nib on this pen, it feels very wet.
Kudos on the new pen buy. You're right the good thing about a number 6 Jowo nib is you can replace it, customize one, and be totally content with the wide range of options. Love the ink color as well, which one it?
I also saw this pen for the first time on Sarah’s channel. I thought it looked so pretty and was sad that it wasn’t being made anymore. And then Goulet soon after released it with the gold trim and I fell in love. I’ve been wanting it ever since but couldn’t pull the trigger because of the steep price tag. But I couldn’t get it out of my mind for weeks and I’ve also been wanting to try a Jowo #6 nib. So I finally bought this pen on Sunday. I can’t wait to get it and to try it. I hope it’s as good as I’ve been imagining!
@@seemownay I love the pen! It’s definitely moved up to one of my favorites as well. It’s gorgeous and writes so well. I was hesitant about the price at first, but it was totally worth it.
That's a lovely pen. I really like the shape and feel of the Montegrappa Elmo, although I find they can dry out a little if you set them aside too long. Not too hard to get it going again though. Enjoy!
It's so interesting that Montegrappa's threads on the barrel are metal and smooth. Are the threads inside the cap just the resin? I've been eyeing the Montegrappa pens on Limitedpenskorea, but they don't offer sales xD I cannot think of getting them at full price. The cracked ice on that pen are so lovely! :D Thanks for sharing.
I since got an Estie and they match threads: so resin on resin and metal on metal. Yes, the Montegrappa has metal on resin twice. I do really like the pen and with more use I find it extremely comfortable.
I sell them through instagram. Or even here. I follow instagram.com/virtualpenshow/ and it seems to me that this is a great place to list pens. There is a facebook group dedicated to selling pens and I believe there is also a subreddit for selling pens.
Lovely pen. Enjoy!!
Thank you so much!
❤ ~The pen and that ink ~BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for sharing 🎉
Thank you so much for watching!
How fun, can't resist a new fountain pen unboxing..!!
I love them. But they are so dangerous!
Wow! This is so gorgeous! It reminds me of a sprinkle cake. 🤤🧁 Thanks for sharing! 🤘🏼😸🧡🖋
It is so comfortable and lovely. I especially like the bright ink that I put in it. It's such a good contrast to the lightness but still so good.
Nice pen!!!!!
Thanks a bunch, Monica!
what a pretty pen! I'm already looking forward to your next video! Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you so much, Vir.
the part of the hand you were point to is called the webbing or the crook of the hand or the pollicis muscle Hope that helps :)
I have to write that down. Thanks so much!
Cracked ice and swirls are definitely different looks. Looks like May is your white/cream pen month. Congrats on both!
Thanks a bunch!
Yay! I'm so glad you love the pen you splashed out on! Congrats!
Yes, that's such a relief. How are you loving that Brown Orchid?
This pen is sooo pretty. I’m so excited for you and to see how it goes!
Thanks so much! It's awesome and I couldn't be more happy with it.
I love the Marshmallow material! It’s so pretty. 😍
It is so lovely.

Thanks so much, I really love it! I'm actually enjoying it a bit more than my Estie.
Congrats on your marshmallow!
Thanks so much!

Regarding the ink in the cap, you might check and make sure the converter is in all the way, since you mentioned being unsure.
I will check that again, thanks for pointing it out.
I'm so excited for you! I tried an Elmo at The Pen Hospital in New York and loved it!! Such a beautiful pen! Enjoy! xo
Thanks so much, Lori! It is a beautiful writer as well, so I'm constantly gravitating towards it.

Gorgeous pen. Thank you for sharing g with us! I really wanted this color in the Elmo 2.0, but they are all gone. Might consider this one…
I just looked at the Elmo 2.0 and it's so drastically different from this model. I really love that it almost feels like an Estie.
Kudos on the new pen buy. You're right the good thing about a number 6 Jowo nib is you can replace it, customize one, and be totally content with the wide range of options. Love the ink color as well, which one it?
Thank you so much! It's such a comfortable pen to write with. The ink is Pelikan Edelstein Apatite.

Yeah, they don't have those inner caps and thus don't seal as well as Platinums, TWSBIs, or even the Esties.
Might I suggest a towel to put down so they dont roll away I use a face cloth sometimes
And thanks to this as well - I already took your advice to heart. Wait for next Wednesday!
Or maybe I even did it with the Estie? Hm. Not sure.

Curious how you sell your pens? I have a few and don’t know where to list them?

which ink is that? I think I missed the name in the video.
I'm not even sure I mentioned the ink, sorry, it's Pelikan Edelstein Apatite.
@@seemownay Thank you!
