    I recently went to battery powered nailers. The freedom of no hose and not dragging a compressor around from job to job is liberating. Downfall is the battery powered nailers are bulky in size and much heavier. Pros and cons to everything. Enjoy that new nailer Steve!

      Hi Glen and the cost is massive compared to pneumatic but no hose is a bonus.

      @@SteveRobReviews come on, $400 for a nailer is nothing for a rich guy like you. lol Good point, they are pricey but so was my Hitachi framing nailer 20 years ago, paid $350 for that. ;-)

    Wow, thanks so much for this! I had an old Senco that never left marks but also had a Bostitich that came in a kit and makes those horrid dents! You showed me exactly what I needed to know, there's so many useless videos on youtube, thanks for providing a good one.

    Congrats on picking up the brad nailer Steve. That is a really well thought out design, and a decent gun. I bought one about 4-5 years ago, to replace my tired and worn out P/C gun. I could not get it to work? It would not sink the brads, and it would jam up. I think I just got a lemon? I returned it, and got looking around, and saw this Red Senco brad nailer at the Homely DESPot. It may even be made in same factory, because it does everything your Bostitch does, sans the pencil sharpener, and the special point. Mine does have this hokey little light on the front, that you press a button to activate, and I actually used it once. The air connection swivels, which is nice. At first, I did NOT like it, but once I used it enough to get used to it, I always reach for it. The tip on the Bostitch is a winner, for sure. The Senco tip had a learning curve for me. Like i said, i think I got a lemon. Oh, my Senco came with a case, but I believe the Bostitch case was a little better?
    I have a 15 gauge Senco all metal, made In USA finish nailer, that I bought new, over 22 years ago. I LUV that gun! I’m not trying to paint myself as a big Senco fan, but I had used their products when I installed Casework and trim carpentry. Hitachi is what I like. I still use a compressor, and hoses, just cant justify the expense of going with the battery models. Take care Steve. 👍👍👍✌🇨🇦🇺🇸😊

    I just have the cheap set of three from Home Despot. They work alright, but definitely not something I would wanna use a lot. I'm best kept away from wood projects. My father was a master carpenter and cabinet maker. He could build, make or repair just about anything. A welder since he was 18 and went into just about every trade there was. I learned a lot from him. He taught me how to weld when I was about seven. Taught me how to work on cars and even some large trucks. The one thing I never learned from him was anything to do with wood and the joining of wood to make it into useful objects. Not that he didn't try, I just seem to mismeasure every thing I need to cut. At least with welding I can add back on, not so much with wood. It's ok, I've learned to accept my limits lol

    I was about to buy this gun, glad I saw this review first. While your Bostitch doesn't mar the workpiece anywhere near as much as your older gun, that's still too much damage, assuming it's set up properly. Much more, even, than I get with my Harbor Freight brad nailer. No bueno.

    Hello there Steve!! The pneumatic brad nailers are pretty nice. I have a no-name brand and it works really well. But I bet the Bostitch is a better unit. I like the 18 gauge size too. It's amazing too how many times I use this nailer. When you have one you'll discover a lot of uses for it!! Take 'er easy!!!

      Hi Mike
      Hope things are getting cleaned up out your way for the better. NS was on the news out here tonight , I did not know that NS burns coal for electricity 100% from Columbia. NS has lots of coal WTH !!! No natural gas pipeline in NS , did not know that either . Seems theirs a liberal revolt going on in NS against Trudeau with his demand to put additional carbon taxes on ya next April because NS is not taxing you enough 😅

    • @GrampiesWorkshop
      @GrampiesWorkshop 2 года назад +1

      @@SteveRobReviews We have, or had (it's in the process of closing down) an open pit coal mine in Stellarton to supply coal to the Trenton Generating Station. The Open Pit was working the old Forde seam as it was pretty close to the surface in a lot of places. As a kid we used to go out back behind where I lived in Stellarton and dig our own bootleg mines. Didn't have to dig too deep to find coal either. So NS being on 100% Columbian coal may not be 100% true!! You may have heard that statement from a politician eh!! We do have some Natural Gas pipelines for residential and commercial use but only in some towns and cities. We are getting some things cleaned up here after Fiona. But there is a lot to do.

    Thanks..Just what I need. I have a Ryobi 3 in 1 nailer and it leaves such bad marks. Also, the pressure required to release the safety mechanism (when hand holding workpieces) moves your work piece and the nail goes in the wrong spot

      This is by far the best Brad nailer I have ever used but since trying some paslode brads they jam but with bostitch brads it performs flawlessly. I'd stick with bostitch brads or try some other brands that may function just fine.

    ive shot about 100000 nails through the dewalt version on this, it does leave the smallest hole of any 18gauge nailer ive use.
    i just got this bostich today because i dropped my metabo with the air duster and it broke the nail retainer.
    this vs the metabo, the metabo wins for power, but with this you can really send the nail exactly where you want it to go.
    filing the firepin down a nailer will also result in a finer hole to fill.
    not having to press the saftey down is what really makes this nailer good.
    other bostich nails are not very good

    i never seen pvc molding , must be pretty recent , mds an natual wood is the only molding i seen ... great vid , thanks. paslod has a great portable nailer with all the features you mention , but , yes too pricy fore a home owner , but great for a contractor doing a quick job that would take longer to set up a compressor than do the job . thanks

      @SteveRobReviews  2 года назад

      Greg the pvc is less than any other moulding and great to work with. When you get into larger moulding it is quite expensive but it never shrinks or expands and looks exactly like wood if painted. Cheers 👍
