    I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Allen, and viewing the blueprints for that mausoleum before it was constructed. He is deceased, and has been for more than ten years. He told me, that when he was selecting the location for his structure, the staff member constantly showed him sites in the back, which is where most Black people were traditionally interred there, at Cypress Lawn, including my paternal grandmother in 1960, as well as the original grave of his mother. He said, "don't you have any locations in the front?". That question required them to show him this location......which he selected. Right in the front, across from the founder of Cypress Lawn's private mausoleum. :-) Too bad, the glass is now obscured and you can't clearly see the beauty of it's interior. There are photos of each family member on each crypt.

    The Daniel Murphy mausoleum is breathtaking Tony. I'm not usually a fan of such oppulence, but couldn't help myself with that one. Thank you for this walkabout, really enjoyed it. Deb of Oz.

    Thanks for this great tour Tony. What are the bells at 11:59. Is that a voice at 19:49, or just me? I do like the descriptions. Some old money!

      I definitely heard a bell, and a voice as well but the voice is really to low to make out anything… I believe he caught some paranormal stuff again 👍👍

    Great tour Tony, thank you. These mausoleums are really beautiful, especially the first one. Was that window in the back really open?
    I thought it had a rod iron grill.

    I have noticed on both of the Egyptian tombs the Sphinx are of course lions with a human head, my question is why do they have large boobs??

    • @CryptDoor
      @CryptDoor  Месяц назад

      I recently looked that up myself because I was curious and this is what I found out ..Sphinxes can be depicted as men or women depending on the mythology they are part of.

    That is the careless thing I’ve ever seen to see the sprinkler shooting in. It just goes to show how some fool doesn’t give a damn. It is gothic revival, not gothic-like. The stone employed on this fine structure is as old as the stone used on Norte dame de Paris. The roof is copper or monel.

    Very lovely place! Always enjoy seeing this one🪦 Never ceases to amaze me just how many burials are in Colma. And the amount of mega wealthy people.
