Thank you, I have played guitar for years and recently purchased ukes for my wife and I, (she has never played). We will soon be joining our local ukulele group and we have just learned the simple chord version of this song. I will be learning your version as the basic version lacks any challenge for me.
You're lessons are absolutely brilliant. Really useful and clear and fun to follow. Thank you so much for taking the time and sharing your talent. Much appreciated. Love your selection of music too!
Great your tutorial is easy to follow! And thanks for slowing it down. Been trying to hunt down a version of this song that went slow enough for me to keep up. So glad I found it!
Who doesn't love Marcy Marxer? She has such a lovely voice and is such a wonderful person! I saw her years ago performing at Calliope House in Pittsburgh.
Marcy I tryed this song....can't post video response but it's on my channel.....much thanks for sharing. this tutorial and performance is much appreciated!
Hey Marcy, You make music so much fun! It's great not only to hear your music, but to watch you play! You always put a :-) on my face! Thank you so much ♪ ♪ ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫ ♪ ♪ ♪
You are so good....not just that you play well, but you have fun with the song! In West Virginia, the "back-porch pickers" always say.....It's not how good you play, it's how good you feel!" I'm sure everyone that sees your video is singing along as you play, and your teaching is right on the mark too! THANKS!
Marcy, this video is one of the first ones I ever sat in front of the computer with my uke to. And MOST of it is something I now play every day. It would be the first chord melody song I learned if not for a few rusty parts. My main headache is that pesky 'B' passage. I also need to bring the instrument back to the computer desk to refine it. I can't express my thanks enough to you, and I'm sure it will come in the form of a response video in the near future :)
@miarosie Marcy appears to be using a pendulum strum where her hand goes down up... dudududu, but it doesn't hit every down nor every up. I starts out d du udu, d du udu, but she varies it to fit the melody. Sometimes she plays d d dux ,dux d d where x is a down up that doesn't get played. She does this in the line that goes, 'Oh what those five feet could do.' I think she may hit some of those silent du ever so lightly, but you'll have to wait for Marcy to clear that up. Hope this helps.
so that's how to play 5ft 2... this was first tune i learned, but all done on the first 3 frets, no augmented C- sounded dull compared to this. My fingers feel like bananas trying to get round it this way- but they're getting better- Great lesson thanks muchly
Thankyou :o) Very easy to follow. Is there any chance you could follow this up with a lesson on the strumming pattern you used please ? or just add a note here to explain it ? thankyou very much
Ps. Any chance you will post a lesson for "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head"? I know there are some good posts already, but I'd love to learn your rendition of it, taught the way you teach it! Shelagh
Thank you, wow, beautiful musician!! does anybody know, can you finger pick a uke like guitar? I finger pick, and do NOT play chords. Just wondering, thanks. Might give me an excuse to buy a uke!!!

This is gonna be my first ukulele song thanks to you Marcy, I started learning it in C but this version has more potential twiddles.
Excellent tutorial!
I love that. Just got a uke and I'm gonna learn that, for sure. Thanks.
This is by far the best tutorial for this song i have come across, so thanks :)
Do you happen to have a tab for it by any chance?
Awesome! I used to strum this song all day long haha.
Thank you Marcy!
Thanks for sharing that ! It's a nice "do-able" piece for a beginner. good training for playing up the neck too. (or "no man's land' for beginners)
Great performance! Please could you explain the strumming slowly? I cant quite catch what the pattern to it is. Thanks!
excellent to advanced for me but i had a try enjoyed your teaching
Wow thank you. Wonderful tutorial. Fun and challenging for me. The only thing i missed was the singing. Maybe next time, eh :)
