Great video. Gerald Robert Hayton has been a game-changer for me when it comes to investing in REITs. His knowledge and practical tips have made it much easier for me to understand the intricacies of the market and manage my portfolio effectively. With his guidance, I've been able to make informed decisions and see real growth in my investments. Grateful for his expertise and ongoing support
Thanks and your videos are so educational and informative and friendly and easily to follow and I am sure they inspired anyone to take the leap and start a business. It's encourage me to think about starting a business and helping me believe I can do it also. So thanks again and have a great day.😂
I love DIY stuff so buying houses and refurbishing them is something that I really love. I used to do it a lot with my brothers but now it's something I'm going to do on my own.
Hello Ken, I have a Stock & Share ISA account with Vanguard and it is S&P 500. Can I open a REIT ISA account with Hargreaves Lansdown? I know they are both Stock & Shares ISA account, but they are different funds.
That's odd. We have certain trigger words automatically marked to be flagged for review. I'll check the review list of comments. But we haven't deleted anything
Strange as I can see the comment but it was automatically deleted. You commented about eToro and investengin . Please post the comment again as we don't know why it was deleted. We don't have issues with any of those companies.
Two years ago I did research REITs but did not invest as there was insufficient UK 🇬🇧 exposure to REITs, it was more popular in America. I did not take any action, “procrastination is a lazy man’s apology”. I will now revisit REITs taking clues from this content, I really want REITs in my portfolio, an absolute requirement for me. Ken, I am humbled how you took me to school and brought me back home! Thanks Ken.
Hey Ken and Mary! Great vid, can I just ask I want to invest in REITs but I understand the PID dividend is subject to tax, the majority of my portfolio is in a Vanguard index fund, and I want that continuous investment, every month, every year. I wanted to use other investment platforms for the REITs, but they won't be in the ISA tax wrapper, I'll just have to swallow the tax on the PID, right? If I'm missing something please let me know. Merry Christmas btw. Thanks, Dom
Omg did you read my mind? I was JUST researching about REITs yesterday!! This video came right on time for me! Thanks for the great video as always 😊👍🏿
Very informative, thank you! I'd heard about reits but not researched it. The reit etfs appeal to me, however I have my s&s ISA with vanguard and they dont currently offer reit ETFs on their platform.
Thank you for watching :). Please share with others 😀. Do you have money sitting in another ISA account? The rules say that you can't contribute into more than 1 ISA per tax year. But it doesn't say that you can invest from another ISA if you already have money in it.
@@TheHumblePenny Yes, i have money in a cash isa from the last financial year. So would I be able to open another s&s isa and transfer part of the cash isa into that? Or would I have to wait until April?
@@TheHumblePenny Hey Ken, great video really helpful, thanks :-) similar to Skooby Lou I also have a S&S ISA in Vanguard. My plan is to fund the vanguard platform with some cash just before the end of this tax year that I can then use to buy S&S on Vanguard over the next tax year. ( but I won't be funding anymore cash into vanguard next year) Could I also open up another S&S ISA on a different investment platform next tax year and invest in REITS, ..would that be within the ISA tax wrapper? thanks again!
Hi there. If I have used my ISA allowance and hold Tritax in a basic trading account are the dividends already taxed or do I have to declare them? I currently do not receive over £2k in dividends and am a basic rate taxpayer. Thanks so much
Great video, learnt from it. Pls I have a question the second type of REITs ETF ie the Global one, is it on vanguard website and can it be invested by UK resident.
Thank you for watching. Please share with others 😀. No, the iShares one can't be found on the Vanguard website as it's not a Vanguard product. You'd have to look at the iShares website for that. Simply type it into google.

Tritax Big Box REIT annual fee is 0.76%; expensive compared to low cost ETFs.
Also, I invest for total return not income so I do not invest in REITs.

Hey, great video. I still cannot find and REITs to invest on Vanguard UK. Am I missing something?
Vanguard UK don't have REITs unfortunately.
Great video - thanks for the clear explanations!
You're welcome :)
I invest in REITS as well. But I want to start buying property. I'm saving my deposit and will buy my first ever rental property in the next 4 years.
We're curious as to why? Not saying you shouldn't. Just curious :)

The annual charges eat into the income!!
Yes, as do other forms of investment. But a valid point still. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah nobody really talks about them but will usually tell people about etc expense ratios
Nice video. You know the subject very well, do you have a background in financial services?
Thank you! Yes, 13 years in the investment business in London :)

The cash has to be in an already existing ISA for you to use it

What a fantastic man, I was stuck in thinking about property investment.
Excellent
👊🏾
Ken, if you had £100K windfall would you invest it in a REIT or would you buy a BTL property?
Ordinarily, BTL. Because of the leverage. It amplifies your returns over time. But with rising interest rates, REITs.
Thanks great information to digest. but l can't the information to download please
Been invested in Ishare Ucit etf , HPRO and AEWU ticker since last year
REITS are great - I have a few and the dividend returns are fantastic……
What platform do you use please?
💪🏾💪🏾
Kind of wish people spoke about the ongoing charges with UK REITS which drastically eat into returns
Good point. Thanks for adding this to the conversation.
Wonderful video. Question???
How do I get a broker to start investing???
Thanks! You don't need a broker. You need to open an investing account. We have made videos on these. Please see our investing playlist 😊

Thanks 👍. I will look into it.

Thank you:)
What is the minimum to invest
Minimums are platform dependent. So please check with your investing platform for a specific REIT, then look at the minimum requirements.

Hello 👋 investengine and etoro offer REITs - any tips on cheapest platform over long term using one of these?
Vanguard need to hurry up and offer REITS
It's interesting that they don't make the global ETF available to people in the UK.
