Can you recommend a liner sock that is ankle or no show? I don't want to wear socks that go all the way up to my knees.

Thank you for posting. I am wondering if foot glide and a thin darn tough wool sock inside a thicker Darn Tough hiking sock would perform the same slippery function. Also people are talking about having Hikers Wool on hand and Leukotape-P as well as neosporin in your hiker medicine kit. The Hikers wool is placed on hot spots as soon as you feel them. The idea is just as you say to stop friction.

Thank you for the great question, Julie. Specific to your sock question, a Darn Tough wool inside a Darn Tough wool will reduce friction; however, the two wool socks do not "slip" against each other the way a nylon slides against wool. It's been a long time since I tried the two Darn Tough, but I recall not being satisfied with the feel. For treating hotspots, the important measure is to act as you start to feel the friction/shearing and the hotspot forming. Hikers Wool is a good choice; a simple bandaid or anything to protect the hotspot is critical. The other step is to change what is creating the hotspot. For example, if a seam is rubbing, you absolutely should apply tape or whatever you have available to smooth out the irritation. Hope this helps! Buen Camino!

That's fantastic. I tried Keen's once but found that I liked their sandals far better than their footwear. Glad it's working well for you! Buen Camino!
