Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm super stoked that you enjoy using the ReShade - blows me away at how many people enjoy it on a daily basis now!
Update: For those having trouble installing - check your Base Game Red Dead Redemption 2 settings - your RDR2 and RedM API selection MUST be the same (both Vulkan Ideally). Otherwise you might run into issues. If you already installed ReShade and then found it wasn't working, run reshade again - modify installation and uninstall it, then make sure both (base game + redm) are on the same API selection, then re-install ReShade and it should fix your issue. Update 2: You can now use the updated location in the description "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\RedM\RedM.app\data\cache\subprocess" and it will take you directly to the folder as shown in the video, %USERNAME% will automatically fill with your windows username so you don't have to edit it. Paste this into your Windows Explorer bar and enjoy
Great tutorial, i do have a slight problem. After the initial setup of Reshade it seemed to work fine, but when i closed RedM and launched it again later on, all of a sudden i could not open the Reshade menu as if it had uninstalled itself. I have tried your potential fix with the API in comment section but this did not work for me at all, i have tried installing an older version, uninstalling it again and tried to relaunch reshade multiple times before opening the game, this sadly did not fix the problem either. Do you have any idea what could cause this issue?
Hi! Thanks for your lovely comment, I'll try my best to help you. I haven't played RedM in a few months so I launched my game just to see if things were still working as intended. I noticed upon my launch ReShade wasn't working - so this is what I did: Firstly, navigate to: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\RedM\RedM.app\data\cache\subprocess When you're in that folder double check that your ReShade files are in there (because if there is no trace of reshade in there that means it's not installed correctly) I then double checked in my CitizenFX.ini (located in your RedM application data folder) to see what version I was running (as seen here: i.imgur.com/Rz85xQY.png) As you can see I'm using build 1491. I made sure in my subprocess folder to delete all other versions besides RedM_b1491_GTAProcess.exe I then opened ReShade 5.8.0 exe - located to that b1491.exe and selected uninstall. Once this was done, I launched ReShade 5.8.0 exe again, located b1491.exe and selected Install. I then went through the install process just like shown in my tutorial (making sure I selected Vulkan as the other options can be weird) I then swapped my RedM to beta build in the menu settings, launched my game and my ReShade was working as intended. I also relaunched it twice to double check and it was working every single time. Hopefully this helps you!

I would recommend you try the following: --> Try an older version of ReShade (5.6?) --> Make sure your files are not hosted within any areas like Dropbox, Gdrive or OneDrive - I had a customer who had their game installed via a Onedrive folder and that was the issue --> Make sure you open your base game RedDead and ensure it's on the same setting as RedM (both Vulkan or both DirectX)
DXGI issues usually occur when you have Graphics Card drvier issues or incompatabilities. Try upgrading your graphics drivers and try again, If that doesn't work - then use DDU Uninstaller to completely clean out your drivers and then proceed to install new drivers (possibly one before the newest incase it's the newest drivers which are giving you issues)
Make sure you have checked the option to see hidden folders(google it if you don't know), and it should be in here: External_hard_drive:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Local\RedM\ If that doesn't work - you might have to consider putting RedM on your local C drive.
Installing reshade on it's own is fine, you will not lose any FPS because nothing is changing, but when you import a preset, that's when the effects are active and you will lose some frames. It depends on what preset you use too. I made my own which I use (available in description) and I made sure that it maximised the best visuals with the least performance loss. With mine you lose around 5-7 fps max.
Could you please be a little bit more descriptive? and then I will happily assist you - I'm not sure what you mean by extracting a redm folder, when you download redm, you simply get an .exe file to install

Yes, ReShade will lower your FPS - each preset is different, some have more effects than others. So I can't tell you exactly how much FPS you'd lose if you use other people's ReShade presets. But you will greatly improve the lighting/colours/visual quality of your game.
Yes! And it's much easier to install, when you download ReShade - simply install it onto your regular Red Dead Redemption 2 .exe in your program files. I'm not sure if you'd be allowed to use it on RDO though, use at your own risk - they might think it's a cheat.
