@@leighuh when you put it like that it sounds a bit stupid, basically (no hate to the preppy style, this is just my experience personally) the style had so many requirements and was incredibly expensive, I felt the pressure to spend all my money on it, make videos (which was so stressful for me), fit the preppy standard (all the clothes just made me insecure somehow) and do preppy activities at places such as the beach, my parents didn’t really “support” it, like they knew I was autistic and I was putting myself under pressure to do a bunch of preppy stuff that I actually didn’t like or want to do at all but I was so brainwashed and into the style I thought I had to or I’d have just wasted my time. So the thought of going back to the style makes me really uncomfortable because I don’t wanna feel all the stress I put on myself again. Hope this helps x

The fact that clothing people wore 2 years ago are already not trends anymore is just crazy. I'm old lol (35), so I remember in the 90's and early 2000's when trends moved a lot slower and more organically over time. Now everything is constantly changing and things come in and out of style at lightening speed. And it's all a ploy from fast fashion to keep people constantly buying clothing. Clothes used to be much better quality and people would wear the same clothes for years, and they would stay in style for many years. You can see how trends would slowly change over 5-10 years back in the day. So I do apologize if it seemed like I was angry with YOU. I'm not. I'm mad at fast fashion lol.

Once you define your own personal style, even if you own a few trendy items you know which trendy items will fit into your overall style. So I'm not against incorporating trends into a wardrobe, but constantly changing your entire wardrobe to chase trends is just crazy! It's always better to cultivate a personal style based on body type/personality and choose the trendy pieces that fit into that personal style.

It's always better to cultivate a personal style based on body type/personality and choose the trendy pieces that fit into that personal style.
