"We're lacking oil, but we're also the number one producer of oil."
As an American, I wholeheartedly understand your pain.
Don't worry, federal government will work to invade oil producing countries.
me 2 :/
USA: * gives oil to people and trades for oil *
@@TVmantitan779 You don't give it, you trade with Mexico and Canada whenever either of you three have a local oil source that the other doesn't.
Single biggest producer and net exporter, but only by a razor-thin margin.
Kraków in vic3 as well? That's even more than i asked for!
Why wouldn't it be?
I'm still out here asking for a Galicia Volhynia playthrough :/
@@ToothpikcOriginalbro same
There is a journal entry unique to Poland, Krakow & polish-ruled Galicia-Lodomeria: which is the ability to create extra radicalised people inside the non-polish controlled homelands. The only requirement is either: A) must be independent. Or B) enact right of assembly or protected speech
21:50 Strange that you had no oil since by 1874 the Galician oil fields were one of the world’s leading oil producers.
Austria-Hungary was the only source of oil for the Central Powers during WW1 because of it.
What about Ottomans?
@@mehmetkayraozer9164 Oil was not discovered or tapped yet.
The Ottomans were not advanced enough to develop an oil industry by themselves so they contracted it out to European companies just like they did in Iran, but WW1 halted all oil exploration before they found any oil fields.
He did have oil, I think he had just missed it

Stories worthy of sagas!
You should play with Anbeeld's mod for AI it makes this triple the fun when Austria imports stuff for you and you can actually go for Free trade as the AI shockingly knows there is demand for goods now...
I’ve been meaning to check out Anbeeld’s mod for about as long as I’d heard of it, but I’m terrified that it’ll be so much better that I’ll never get around to grabbing some of the achievements I want. Anbeeld’s mod seems like it’s gonna kill the achievement stats for this game the same way player led conferences did for HoI, which kinda sucks if you’re into seeing how many folks have an achievement you want/have
@@tylerbeaumont paradox changed it so you can get achievements with mods!
@@tylerbeaumont Victoria 3 does not require ironman for achievements, and mods do not block achievements either.
@@mainman879 I love this change. not just because it no longer forces you to play vanilla if you want the little dopamine boost of an achievement tick, but because you can _feel_ the paradox purists and vic3 haters mald over how "its a baby game for casuls who can use cheat mods unlike us real men whose crowning achievement in life is a jpeg in a map game"
@@imoutoconnoisseur imaginary people living rent free in your head
I feel like they need to make a LOT more formable nations across the world. RN there are only a few places with worthwhile starts that don't have such a "vanilla" start.
Important question - Wisla Krakow or Cracovia?
Love this game. Sitting there for 2h 50years ingame time nothing really happens and yet i enjoy every single moment
I would really love if you could do something with Schleswig-Holstein, though that might be even more painfull
If Prussia is an Army with a nation, Krakow is a City with a nation
4:41 Read the event. You're giving the opposition favors in exchange for their support.
Krakow is so big, it’s spilling into Austria 10:04
So, a city-state vs: The Russian Horde, The Austrian Marriage Network, and The Prussian Space Marines... Only a miracle from God Himself brought the Commonwealth back.
POLAND! :)
At 7:00 i'm getting Boston Brown Bread vibes.
Delicious with butter.
Frontlines are the worst among the small German states. When defending a few of the minors against Prussia, I had to _constantly_ micromanage the fronts, it really was with every new province capture by either side, fronts split and joined like crazy - and it's so easy to lose by missing one, since Prussia usually only needs to capture a few provinces to force an annexation and you can't recover from that.
Absolutely Krakin'
Forming Scandinavia as Jan Mayen might be fun, who knows...
I think you should consider taking treaty ports in future games like this. Prussia and russian can't embargo you if you've got those treaty ports. Put the hurt on your enemies
The true successor state to Carthage
Great video...
I really enjoyed it.
how many years will it take for ViC 3 to become playable? , I mean actually enjoyable.
I bet like 4 dlcs 2-3 years
what do you think?
the game is pretty playable just lackluster on content. You could still enjoy it with its great economic gameplay. Sucks everything else is shit.
Years later it's in a much better state with 1.6
POV when the us joins in a war against a city
I find it so absurd that your CB is conquer state and not return state when they've literally partitioned YOUR land.
A challenge? Form Yugoslavia as Montenegro.
Wallachia into Romania, then the Danubian State, could be cool
Bro was roleplaying a polish Singapore 🤣
This was a campaign to remember
Can you please try to form Indonesia next? As far as I know no one in youtube has done that. I think that would be pretty challenging for you
16:20 based krakow.
Polska górom! Polska górom!
4:40 it does make sense if u read it you are compromising with the church for better enactment chance but this upsets the intelligentsia
I'd love to see a theocracy playthrough. For maximum points, do the remake of the 3 romes achievement but as a nation other than papal states, because you already did an Italy playthrough. I'd recommend Russia for rp reasons, but it would be cool if you managed to do it as any smaller starting nation or releasable.
amazing video Laith!
Great general Rola!
Best video yet!
debug_mode for the win
froming poland pretty hardcore mode this game
You should do turkestan, you can start as bukhara who is drpending on the claim heritge rules you use the last ruling dynasty from Ghenus Khan
Poland is not yet dead not while we live.
can someone tell me why he doesnt fix his own market access???
Great video
Scandinavia as Norway maybe?
good job looks fun!
nice video! maybe you could try forming Arabia as Egypt?
Poland Laithiuanian Commonwealth
Day 25 of asking you to do the Croatia challenge. Become free from the rule of austria. Return old yugoslavia borders. If you want to spice up the challenge here are some extra rules: You cannot ally austrians, serbians, montenegro, ottomans and russians. You must stay monarchy, try at the end of a challenge to be a top 10 great power, cannot import or export to austrians, ottomans, serbs, montenegro and russians (later in the game that is not early)This is for Victoria 3 that im saying.
Children also have hands...
Blessed.
Form germany as one of the german minors. greece byzantium playthrough. morocco andalusia game. I dont actualy think the last 2 are in the game but theres probably mods for it.
You can form Byzantium as Greece (it's a Paradox game, of course you can) and Andalusia does exist but I don't know if it's formable. Could be.
Viveleroy moment
Also, once again requesting the Indian Territory achievement.
AI compulsively throwing embargoes at the supplier of stuff it needs? Classic Paradox.
Can you be an independent Gotland in this game? They're usually up to no good in paradox games.
Gotland can be released as Sweden, I think.
could you try using where is qatar nowadays?
Papal states to Roman Empire?
How did prussia lose Danzig?
FORM SCANDINAVIA
AS JAN MAYEN
Try Yugoslavia :)
that pronunciation
aaah
its like krakov not crack-cow
Start as Central America and take over South America.
ruclips.net/video/QiVbrymJV2M/видео.html seems pretty accurate to me, ngl.
Form the german empire as Bavaria
please come to brasil
Poland can into space?
Day 1 of asking laith to play as circassia
Texas owning Africa
Hehe if you pr0 than make Poland Cracow in vic 1 rev vip xD
Form Italy as Modena
Please form Scandinavia as Norway. That'd be really cool and neat.
That's exactly how I played almost always in Vic2. Set up a solid nation and let the economy go wild.
And then usually stop playing once a major war happened because that system was awful.
Amen. Vic 3 wars are jank, but Vic 2 wasn't much better. And the revolts, my god.
where is the guy that kept asking for krakow?
AeroMexico???

Oh man, huge fan MDB, imagine seeing you here! I forgot you play paradox games. Between that and the Pokémon challenges it seems you’re something of a glutton for punishment. Anyways, hope you’re feeling better man!

So Krakow is essentially the Byzantium of vic3
Poland is the true Third Rome
Oil: Exists at 22:00
Laith: Doesn't notice until 33:00
I used to live in Bielsko-Biala, that little village just west of Krakow. Cool to see it in the game.
"It's a planned economy without it being a planned economy!" ~ Laith discovering free market economics.
But where's the rampant corruption?
@@atraxisdarkstar Im not sure that corruption levels are something planned economies have over the free market lol
Honestly its more like Dengism
One recommendation, take treaty ports from people if you are doing any conquest heavy runs. If you have a treaty port it is impossible for them to embargo you.
real exploit hours.
I would be interested in an 'evil' playthrough. Take a fairly well balanced and stable nation with good growth aspects, and just go with evil or opposite laws to the current meta. For example, go full slavery, no women's rights, keep kids in the mines and so on. You can avoid laws such as isolationism however, despite being in a way opposite to current meta. It's more about playing in way that has yet to be shown.
it would be interesting, but this game playstyle goes against the norm of the era, in other words, in the long run it will hurt you waaaay more to not have a flexible industry, to have slaves that don't pay taxes, etc
it just nerfs you the game strongly encourages progressive laws
@@matheusGMN I know it's not the ideal playstyle for the game, hence why i suggested it more as a challenge. Laith has proven he is capable of any challenge playing normally.

I remember back in the Vic 2 days some guy posted an LP thread where he played as Two Sicilies and deliberately tried to create a backwards agrarian feudal state
The reasoning behind intelligentsia losing approval to gain success chance is because, if u read the event, youre basically adding in or removing stuff based on what the OPPOSITION wants. So youre not just passing this pure law, its got other crap thrown in to appease the landowners for example.
Huh, sounds a lot like how the American legislative process works, where you get like "The Saving Disabled Kittens (and Also Tax Cuts For The Rich) Bill"
I was giggling at the Japanese peasant levies in Russia. Just imagine getting taken off your farm by your shogun to stare down Polish maxims after slogging through Siberia
You know i'd never be able to have fun playing Victoria 3 myself, but it is incredibly fun to watch you play it... which is exactly the opposite i expected when the game released tbh.
Sad but true
29:32 I love how The Chad General became president later on.
If you form Scandinavia as Denmark you get to reform the Kalmar Union and it has it's own unique name. Also for underdogs I am currently enjoying my Brunei to Indonesia run, but I kinda lucked out by just, getting the British to help me force the Spanish into giving me war reparations. Also something like Bavaria into South Germany or Papal States/Tuscany into Italy could be good.
"we create our own demand" keynesian economics intensifies
Polska górom!
Love seeing you take a Kraow at this challenge
Krakow is like Byzantium of Vic3. I really enjoy parasiting on Austrian market and then as nowadays Tokyo equivalent re-form Commonwealth.
Poland the beacon of libertarian capitalist utopia. Hell yeah awesome vid!
Make Russia a technological power house.
Intelligentsia is not getting upset because the law is passing. They are upset because you made compromises in the law to appease the opposition.
Form India. I think the Sikh Empire is the easiest start. I do not suggest starting as any of the princes under the east india company - an independence war means fighting the EIC, all the other princes, and Britain, all at once, you're not allowed any diplo play other than independence, and even if you get independent, you're still landlocked and surrounded by the EIC, so you'd have to wait out the truce and then win again against the same odds.
Might be interesting to try as one of the other states in what is now Pakistan, like Mehra or something, though.
My strat as the Sikhs was: conquer all the nearby Indian states, then conquer Afghanistan, then take out Persia, while building an economy. The starting military is enough to defeat your neighbours. If you move fast enough you can take the whole Persia region before any of the majors declare an interest, which means that they aren't allowed to interfere in you seizing Persia even if you have massive infamy. Then you rush the pan-nationalism technology which gives you access to the overpowered "Unify India" CB, which lets you seize any whole nation as a single war goal (the nation has to be under 100 infamy, which is why you can't take out the EIC until you have taken some large chunks out) and set about hacking at the EIC and grabbing all the principalities. Do a war against GB with a goal of "freeing" the EIC so you don't have to fight GB every time. Oh, and build a navy; they will naval invade you if you don't.
33:00 interesting thing is that Pole Ignacy Łukasiewicz was first one who build petroleum exploration wells. In 1850s, in Western Galicia. So it very historically accurate
now do indian territory
48:57 "it's ammuzing because people embargo us but they also desperatly need our goods"
Yeah that game is a bit wierd, european countries would never do somthing that stupid in reality.
Oh wait !
This should be an achievement

Let's ignore the fact that the emperor of one of the GBs was a vanguardist
We've had one Great Britain yes, but what about second Great Britain?
