you maniac! when you add salt to a burger like that , it makes it rubbery :( you gotta make your patties THEN put your seasoning onto the top of the burger, then smash it down nice. :D it'll make the texture of your burger much better in the end :D

Love this content from Chef Tony. Order a real burger smasher online, they're cheap and it's way easier to smash them and get the crispy edges as well.
An extra wide metal spatula and something to press it down with works just as well and is more useful in the long run, one use cooking items in the kitchen are ✖️
@@TacRabsBiggestAirConditioner doesn’t work just as well at all. A seasoned burger smasher is well worth it. You’ve obviously never used one before if you’re thinking the results will be the same.
@@L1LmeatGang I used both for years dude, both at home and at work. They both work just as well, and a proper wide spatula has a multitude of other uses as well. Sounds like your technique just needs some improvement

Good attempt but Not a true smash burger, you need an extremely hot cast iron pan or flat top with a lot of butter/oil and a metal spatula you can really spread the meat out with (something heavy), a true smash takes minutes to cook and the Maillard reaction is far greater than this based of surface area.
