I love it. It looks really well made. Three string changes and it has paid for itself. 🙏❤️🙏

      Absolutely!!
He does them in black too, so they look very close to the originals!

That's a great looking alternative. I have the original adaptor which works fine. But it's nice to see better looking alternatives for us headless folk. The last set of double ball end flat wounds I got were £50!! ouch! My adaptor is set aside for my short scale headless. Which I use fender jaguar light gauge 35 to 95 ( I think) strings. My long scales have the usual 45 to 105 . I find them a bit chunky .
    ✌️❤️🤗

I think it’s a good looking thing, for sure.

I always thought that the double ball end strings were one of the best things about the XT-2, makes changing strings a breeze, but hey it's good everyone has options :)

Yeah you can’t beat the speed. The lads in the band timed me at a minute for all four!
But DBE can be hard to get and expensive so an adapter is a handy yoke to have
The integrated headpiece is great though with the ability to take either DBE or regular strings
      Thanks for watching

@nickpacey I honestly can’t remember. I got a whole load of different things made at the same time.
I’d say you wouldn’t be long recouping it with the price and availability of double ball strings though

Having owned a Spirit GT pro and not been able to keep the high E in tune, I’m not sure how motivated I am to have a headless bass, even though they have become somewhat tempting for me as of May 2024. I would only try one if it either included this alternate headpiece or I knew that I could have one installed.

Super easy to install those headpieces. It’s a couple of screws! And the other ones are held in by string tension.
Honestly I’ve never had tuning issues with one of these
Quite the reverse, they’re SO stable
If it was across several string sets from different batches, I’m not sure of what could have caused that for you.
If it was one set, ir batch, it’s more likely to be a string issue
The basses are a different beast anyway. Try one, sell it on if it doesn’t suit

Yeah, it's cool. I can see how easy it is to use any gauge string. But Just out of interest how do you adjust the string height at the nut end, without a nut? If you get what I mean?👍😁

    • @mindhead2005
      @mindhead2005  2 года назад +2

      Steinbergers have a zero fret!
So it’s always correct at the nut

Also.... Where can I purchase the strap thingy as well. I can't stand playing the Spirit so far away from my body, past the 99 degree angle where my arm should be, mata. If possible, can You send me the link to my email? Much appreciate it if you can do it. I found your channel to be so informative, and helpful. Cheers🙏
