Hi, now after 6 months, are you still pleased of your VR setup? Using it all the time you flight sim? Is this the FoV that you get? It seems a bit narrow, what's your opinion as a user? And what about the gauges, are they easily readable? And can you read a check list in this pass-through mode? Really cool to see this setup !
I will use my Cessna rig 8 out of 10 times I play (otherwise I'll just fly with a helicopter or an L39 and that's just for quick messing around). I definitely enjoy it more when I play with the full rig, it feels more immersive. The FoV is way better than what you see in the video because it's only recording from 1 eye and its cropped (which is why you see that black vignette around the top left), however, the FoV isn't amazing, it's decent though but it could definitely be better. Passthrough is perfectly fine to read the gauges, I can see them all with no problem (other than the small clock). I've not tried reading a paper checklist on my lap. I can read my phone just fine in passthrough through.
If you already own a quest 3 then I'd recommend just putting it on and putting it in passthrough mode and looking at your ipad on your knee and see if you think it's good enough quality to read. In good lighting conditions, the quest 3 passthrough is pretty good, but an ipad at a range of what maybe 50cm may become a bit grainy? But it all depends on the size of the text you're reading. I tried a quick test with just my phone on my lap and it was "readable" but not amazing.
