This also proves ironhide had A LOT of durability due to getting shot in his spark THREE TIMES with the rust gun the first time he got shot in the spark he should have died but he tanked two more before he LET the rust take him

I even came up with weird theory that he intentionally created a space bridge above water, so transported decepticons will be wet and rust over time( we all saw how water was rising and all teleported decepticons came out of it wet) thus, providing autobots help with defeating them in future.
I doubt that transformers rust from just water. In the first film Ironhide was sitting in the pool before he scanned a vehicle. In the second film Constructicons revived Megatron underwater and were okay about that. In the fifth film there is a submarine transformer. In other media transformers don’t care about water.
As it is said that only a Prime can defeat The Fallen, should a 1v1 happen, I can't help but believe that The Fallen seems to be (or just simply "looks") more powerful than Sentinel Prime, one reason would be the Fallen has telekinesis that could easily stop Sentinel, unless Sentinel uses his rust cannon with a good shot on the Fallen to make him rust to pieces. Other than that, unless the Fallen's staff is strong against blades, it is possible that Sentinel's blades can cut through the Fallen's staff (that being The Fallen's only close combat defense) and slice the Fallen to pieces. Finally, a matter of an arm wrestle strength is questionable between the two Primes, which sadly is unknown... but I am leaving that to anyone's theories.

If Wheeljack could, he would have deactivated the cannon completely so that the Sentinel couldn't kill anyone with it, but the Sentinel used the gun in the final battle, including against Sideswipe, so the cannon wasn't deactivated, it's just that the shots from it did not lead to corrosion, and there are two theories here: 1) Sentinel has "rusty" ammunition for this gun, but the number of these ammunition is limited, which is generally logical, i.e. it can be used against one opponent, but in a mass battle its use is impractical, hitting moving targets with this weapon can be difficult. 2) Sentinel shot Ironhide's spark through his back, i.e. in the most vulnerable and least protected place, which caused him to fall apart immediately. While the bullet hit Sideswipe right in the chest, that is, in the most armored place. It would seem that even without the rust effect there should be a hole after such a hit, but in the end Sideswipe had no damage at all. Accordingly, we can conclude that it is better to shoot from this gun in places where there is no armor. In a head-on collision, this weapon can be completely ineffective, as Sideswipe did not even feel the shot from it, as if the shell did not penetrate his armor at all. I don't understand why Wheeljack would make a weapon specifically for the Sentinel. Why didn't he make one for Optimus?
