I worked in Suisse Romande for 9 months a long time ago and this bring backs a flood of memories. "Service" is the word I recall most vividly. "Au revoir, service!" to a customer leaving a cafe. Mon de dieu, yes, I remember that too. And nanante for ninety rather than quatre vingt dix. And huitante for eighty ! Lots more: "Un ballon de blanc" - is that Swiss only (?) for a glass of white wine?

En France c’est dépend sur la région. A Paris les français parle trop vite parce que tout le monde est stressé et pressé. They swallow a lot of their words too, it’s getting worst.
Même en Suisse ça dépend de la région. Je pense qu'ils ont tourné cette vidéo à Lausanne dans le canton de Vaud. Les autres romands ont aime bien dire que les vaudois sont lents, et qu'ils parlent lentement

Ça dépend sur la région de la suisse. Je suis suisse-allemande, mais je fais mes études à fribourg (une ville billingue) et beaucoup de mes pots sont romands. Les Fribourgeois parlent lentement avec beaucoup de mots allemand (comme "faire le putz"), mais les gens de Neuchâtel parlent super vite.

Je suis jamais allé en Suisse, mais j'aimerais y aller. J'ai vécu 5 mois en France et je connais pas mal de villes différentes là, et alors je pense qu'il serait super intéressant de voir les différences entre la vie en Suisse et en France.

Je suis pas sûr, mais je crois que beaucoup d'îles utilisent "à", comme "à Cuba", "à Madagascar", "à Mayorque", "à Ibiza" sauf quand c'est un archipel ("au Japon", "aux Canaries" etc)
I mean... more than half of Switzerland doesn't even speak French. That's probably the biggest difference lol

@@EdwardRock1 yes, I know. But so are Italian and Romansch. Both of which have 10% or less of the population that speak those languages

@@anafreitas8177 it's not such a difference if you compare with french from east territories like franche comté or Savoy, but it's very different than the south, west or standard French accents. And each french speaking cantons has their own accent.

Par rapport l'accent je n'ai pu remarqué aucune grosse différence entre les français et les suisses. Y-a-t-il vraiment une différence quant à l'accent ?
Juniorfoxnetdude ici, il n'était pas très marqué mais ça se remarque en général. De la même manière, les suisses remarquent l'accent français /belges / québécois ...

Oui, par rapport les belges et les québécois je remarque une différence très claire. Les suisses par contre ont un accent assez léger, je trouve. Dans cette vidéo-ci, en tout cas.

@@anafreitas8177 You can cover those up if you want to practice just listening for the words. With the English subs there's no way to practice parsing meaning without having to parse the words by ear alone
For me the Swiss french is better than the french in France
So the Swiss are very much like the French since Switzerland is a country of immigrants. Many Swiss are of Italian or French descent. They're also around the same height too although there are more tall people in France than in Switzerland.
People are taller in switzerland tho

Je trouve que l'accent Suisse est a mi chemin entre l'accent Quebecois et celui de France. Ici au quebec desfois on a l'air d'une bande de degenerer et en france il sont hautain... Ici sur cette video ils ont plus l'air equilibre.
