The other video you may have seen on this subject on Sunday and early Monday (January 13-14) was intended as a private suggestion to TSPROF, but I messed up and uploaded it when I intended upload this video. I failed to double check my work and voila - proof that I make mistakes just like everyone else. THIS is the actual video I about how to use the "Small Universal Table" for the TSPROF series of sharpeners - K01, K02, and K03.
Afternoon Jake - I've done a couple pairs of scissors on my KO-3 w/ this universal table jig. Both came out better than new. What a pleasure it is using the TSPROF, even though I'm still new at it and learning. Your tutorials have been helpful, thanks & take care...
Thanks so much for putting this together. I have purchased a TSPROF K03 with this small table and I was trying to work out how to use it. Best regards from Australia. Cheers!!
Glad I could help! I am getting the upgrade from K02 to K03. I like TSPROF quite a lot. I have videos of their other attachments too. I especially use the scissor attachment more than any other attachment.
That is an interesting idea. I seriously doubt it would be good for that. The main reason being that this thing can only clamp at one spot, it's not designed to hole something as long as a hedge trimmer blade. Secondly I don't know of any way the sharpener could hold the special type of file/stone needed to sharpen a hedge trimmer. I guess theoretically it could do it if the blade isn't too heavy. You would also need to reposition the blade a LOT, which would slow the process down significantly.
I just use my regular knife clamps to sharpen straight razors, just like any other knife. To get a shallow enough angle the tightening screw would get in the way if you tried to use this for a straight razor.
doesnt fit the earlier version of the k02 as cross member on latter has 22mm width and gap on the table is 20mm. i have not been able to get tsprof to address the issue, so will mill the gap to increase it to 22mm to fit my 22mm k02 cross member. this will be done on a lathe. tsprof are aware of this failing and intended modification.
I was under the impression that they were making 22mm brackets. I would like to see pictures of how you will do the modification using a lathe, I would have thought that a mill would be the tool for the job, but I am no machinist.
Canadian Cutting Edge .... Yes, the lathe mill seems the way to increase the clamping gap on the table to 22mm from 20mm. I have a lathe so should be able to do this if I can hold the bracket on the lathe milling able ... should work as the clamping brackets do detach from the spigots they are mounted on. tsprof largely lost interest in the problem... I have sent photos and asked for the 22mm version when ordering, and again when the attachment arrived (when they asked for photos of the problem). Not a worry, it’s s Russian thing I think (generally very good until they lose interest... then it’s not worth my time to chase them). I will send some photos of modification. Perhaps I can offer this as a service to owners at a very low cost.
For anyone finding this in the future...Contact TSPROF directly and they sell a table specifically for the older 22mm K02's. I got one from them and it fits perfectly. They call it the "6mm table", though I am not sure why.
Not without some other extra support and longer screws. But if it is one of teh modern types that is made from 1/4" plate steel, those can be sharpened on this table.
It is indeed expensive. I have suggested to several people that from now on when you buy any knives put an extra 10% of the total cost into saving for the machine you really want but can't afford. That way you can reward yourself when the time comes instead of feeling like it costs WAY too much.
@@CanadianCuttingEdge I haven't bought for a very long time a knife, in the UK its a pain with this law and for longer the imports are horrible to get anything, specially locking knives. 😕
I prefer to use the VENEV diamond stones for most of my sharpening, always for steels with a hardness of 60 or over. I also like the narrow CS-HD stones by Boride, and sometimes i just use the basic silicon carbide stones that you can buy from them or almost anywhere online.
@@CanadianCuttingEdge i like the venev, the borride cs hd is also nice. The "ruby" ones are good for material removement if you need to fix some blades and the t2 stones will leave you a nice mirror edge in higher grids. They have also the naninwa choosera in the shop now, tried it out works pretty nice. The arkansas black and tranclucent natural leave nice microserrations but they are pretty hard bond and with just using water they dont cut very fast But i like also to use other stones on the tsprof. like the shapton glass or atoma diamond works also well.
Jake, I didn't find the small table on Amazon but it is on the TSPROF website for $70 I just received my K03 today and it took about a month to receive. How do you like the small table? Still using and liking it? Is it worth $70 in your opinion? I guess it depends on how many oddball things you want to sharpen, right?
@@justinhigh7966 Hi Justin. I never bought the small table features in this video. However, I use my TSPROF sharpener all the time. Awesome investment!

I would like to see if it is possible to sharpen the blade of a hedge trimmer.

Can you sharpen a straight razor on this?

Where did you buy this accessory Jake? On the TSPROF website?
Can it file woman's nails 💅 ?
Only on Sundays.
can you sharpen a axe or hatch on this table?
