I was just thinking of what you said about the quirky thing of stitching a lady stitching.... you already have such a WIP, that quick stitch panel of A Stitch in Time... the fireplace.
I use a strong needle minder to anchor parked threads/ends out of the way
If you don't want to wait with 2 handed stitching until the lowery clamp gets back... you could consider using/ buying a multi angle vice. The one I use is a Stanley and only costed me about 25 euros

I have a lowery, but I spent the extra and got the stainless steel, which is well worth the money. Everything is solid steel. Maybe something you want to consider if the fix doesn't hold. I put the edge of it under my couch leg. I have had mine a couple of years as well. I use wax and stainless steel cleaner on it to maintain it.

How were you invited to the HAED stitch along?
Here in California, I live 30 minutes away from Hollywood. It’s not a place where you’d find a movie star. It’s all a facade 😊Currently, just like in Los Angeles it’s filthy and full of drug addiction and homelessness. It’s sad. We have MM and Harry here about 45 minutes away north. I wish they’d go live elsewhere . Please come visit our coast line. It is beautiful. We are proud of the sea life and surfing 🏄♀️ We have the LA Dodgers here. ⚾️We are proud of our 💙Boys in Blue💙⚾️💙 We are we working towards getting our dual citizenship for Ireland. We are tired of life here. There are so many mean people here in the major cities. We are looking for peace ☮️
