Daniel was one of my platonic crush back when I was a teenager. Neon Ballroom was a hit when I was in high school, and my favorite one was Emotion Sickness, but only years later I would find out why. And then I saw that pure heart teeling us about how he felt, and it's kind of unffair cause his song helped us but we couldn't do the same.
But now he's ok and doing something he loves and I cannot be more proud of him
This song is delicious to hear and now Daniel's song can sing a brighter time of my life too

There is something very special about Daniel's music, and it is that has led me through different styles against my prejudices. When I was a grunge obsessed teenager, Neon Ballroom showed me a different kind of vision of rock, deeper and more complex, and then Diorama kind of taught me that rock can be colourful and emotional too when I thought it was all about darkness and depression.
Now, his new material challenges me to listen to a kind of music I thought I would have never liked. But I do, and for some reason it keeps me fascinated. Some people say that we are just listening to these songs because Daniel wrote them, but I think it is more accurate to say that we are enjoying this because of Daniel's talent, which is able to make us enjoy something we just couldn't stand before.

Beaver0305 I agree. It definitely challenges my musical preferences, but I understand, now, that it's coming from a different viewpoint. But of course, without his voice, I would not be so likely to try to listen to it closer and hear where it's coming from.

Same for me, but it is definitely growing on me. Especially love this one. I think Aerial Love rather shocked me (and it has yet to grow on me), because I had been expecting an expanded Diorama- big sweeping sound and more of that piano. When it was the exact opposite of that, it really threw me and I went into tantrum mode. I don't want to be one of those types whinging for Frogstomp though, but I definitely still miss Silverchair and I still really want some more of Dan with a piano and guitar.

Went from a grunge to a more Prince like sound. I actually like this and it's really well done.
As a kid he made perfect grunge tunes, but he keeps with the fashion and doesn't make the songs quality any worse!

This song is again about a perfect physical connection with a person that makes you feel like you are on fire/electric. I really like the combination between his RnB/pop sound of this album with great experimental electronic sounds, specially at and after the chorus. The video also translates the vibe of the song perfectly.
Daniel is a fucking genius, hasn’t made a bad song in his entire career, a testament of how he can excel at any genre he wants to 🔥

This EP is amazing (Talk). This is the true definition of vocal evolution. Those who keep whining that it's not Silverchair need to get over the fact that some bands break up for the sake of individual growth. No, the R&B genre isn't for everyone. If you listened to this expecting to hear the stuff he wrote when he was a kid, you're going to be disappointed, and it's your own fault for placing that expectation. Enjoy it for what it is and quit throwing hatred because you can't get over the past of a man exploring his other talents.

I was a huge fan of silverchair mainly cause Daniel's genius, he was the best doing what he did those years. this is a different chapter but how not love it??? This is the only pop R&B I listen to, love the full album. This guy is something else.

I just knew him in year 2002 from diorama album and then I never forget Silverchair or Daniel.
At first I could not understand this change, then I stopped to think that not every artist changes so easily gender and experience with so many things (the dissociatives-silverchair-solo career). the more I listen to it more I accept it and applaud him because he really does it well.

this is pretty much the greatest video i have ever seen. you know when your neighbours house just goes up in flames, and someone has already called the fire department and they're trying to get it under control, but you just can't help but stand and watch as the fire burns. they did everything they can to prevent a fire from happening, but it did... and now we get to watch it.
