I mean Unite doesn't change the game much but for me I'm happy that in solo the cops spawns are now less, fast travel and every race even the online ones are put there. That just make the game enjoyable for me who wants just to race some races after work or university etc.
cops are 100% why I still haven't finished story, I was too annoyed by the fact that they were on every street and that I was constantly in chase trying to save my money
For me I think the cops are actually an improvement over those seen in Heat. They're not as brutally difficult as they are in Heat, which was a dealbreaker for me on that game. Putting them absolutely fucking everywhere in Unbound, especially at high heat levels, makes you want to drive stealthy and avoid cop FOVs, even if that means taking a bit longer to get to a destination. Being able to see them *and their fields of vision* on the map is a huge help in avoiding them. And even after all that you don't always need to race at night if you don't want cops to bother you.
Edit: you meant races and I had missed that. Even during races they again aren't as painfully brutal as they are in Heat. After a race is over, escaping the cops is a much better difficulty balance compared to Heat in my opinion. Condition 5 cops are hard, but they're still beatable if you know what you're doing. It didn't feel like that in Heat.
I found the handling to be very good once you use throttle control lol. If your car is grip and rear drive, gently using the throttle while using burst nitrous mid corner will mitigate oversteer.
That yellow nos literally gives you more grip in corners if you use it right, thats dumb imo.
@@gladdy6412imo it is what gives the game so much personality and skill curve which is sorely needed by Need for Speed
@@eugene12310mobile its unrealistic af. I would rather just have more demanding handling. Burst nos makes it closer to mobile game.
@@gladdy6412 idk this sounds like a skill issue to me. Burst NOS definitely makes the game feel faster and I like that. The issue of it "feeling like a mobile game" just means the map needs working on design wise and the inconsistent physics (doesn't mean I want all cars to burst NoS like the R8, that flattens the skill curve too much). Plus the burst is earnt via good driving and high risk maneuvers, th

No. Half of criterion left after the game came out.
The funny thing with the burst nitro is that the AI actually uses it but the multiplier is set to 0 for every car except the player's so it basically does nothing for them except trigger the graffiti vfx on their car.
I liked unbound i dont understand why everyone hates it so much
1:50 That is true Kuru. I mean you can literally use the Unite mod in online mode in all of the modern NFS titles
for once we were given a handling model where competitive racing is possible and i love it
My theory is that to make them a bit more unique, all cars have their code and handling, which they would need to manually update to have the newer handling while still retaining some of the stats of the current car
That’s how it is on the base game you just have to tune them properly. That’s why you can edit the handling from the pause menu.
@@PotentialGrim He was talking about why Audi's handling is different than other cars and why it can't be easily implemented into more cars
Looking back at Heat after the unbound drama really hits different
From what I saw unite is a good addition to the main game. The only thing that I hate in unite and in the main game that burst nitrous is bound to the same button as the the normal nitrous. I hope at least crytirion or the unite dev team sees this please make burst nitrous to be binded to a different key
That sounds great but on paper it being the same button is a little more intuitive.
@@PotentialGrim for me it would be better to be on a different button because there are moments where I would prefer to normal nitrous than to activate both and screws the drift
The only thing that actually annoyed me about this game was that tracks repeat a lot. Other than that i enjoyed this a lot more than anything since most wanted and maybe pro street.
I like unbound better than Heat so sue me, the handling in Heat was awful to the point where I couldn't get around corners.
Devs will not take notes. No hate on devs! They just have deadlines set, months in advace. There really isnt much wiggle room outside of bug fixes. And god forbid ea is like, "shut it down."
Why do they have brake to drift? Criterion. Burnout.
Does this mode change some of the traffic cars as well? They look different.

Expected no less from UNITE, but I'm afraid it won't solve a long term issue. In my concern, EA and fandom should let the franchise pass away for good. The only reason this game is still alive, is that Criterion and part of EA managed to make contact with some representatives of the community to somehow "hear" what the players demand from this game.
But unfortunately this is just like putting a braindead person in a breathing machine, just because of those who love the franchise and cling on the hopes to see it 100% recovered. I mean, it had masterpieces and its garbages, had its history scribed on gaming. But that's enough, guys. Let's just leave NFS rest in peace!
What I'd actually like as a fresh restart of EA's street racing sub-genre, is a brand new franchise. I vote for calling it "EA SPORTS: Speedhunters"! This one could be aligned to the current manufacturer interests. This means that this potential franchise can follow this "Horizon-Motorfest" trend, and I think it could get pretty well done, since EA got the basis from Underground 2 and ProStreet.
But I'm afraid the harmful part of NFS fandom won't let this happen under any circumstances. The community won't realize that they'll end up "without the goat nor the leash".
The handling, at least for me, wans't that much different from vanilla. Grip cars do drift much less than the previously but that's about it. Drifting wasn't that much changed, it almost felt the same even worse for some heavier cars like the m2 or the 718 cayman. I know it may be becouse unbound has his drift phydics heavily input based becouse of the anime effects but I fell like they could have done a much better job.
Having now played Unbound Unite for the past few days I can honestly say this has been the worst NFS experience I've ever had.
Handling is good 70% of the time but those 30% happen when you really don't want it. Burst nitrous is just terrible as it just creates wheel spin and spins you out if you're turning whatsoever and it isn't like you can avoid using it as racing require it to be competitive.
Map is actually fantastic, but it suffers from Forza Horizon syndrome of off-road wherever you want. City is perfect and is reminiscent of UG1 and 2.
The police. The fucking police! How can it be so incredibly unbalanced, at low heat they're just an annoyance with no bite, but above heat 3 it's harder than a Minecraft RUclipsr in a kindergarten. You can't reliably disable police cars at all so the only way to escape is to outmaneuver them only to have them either spawn in front of you or just cheat and hone in on you like a hellfire missile from several blocks away.
I'm just lucky I bought the game at 60% off if not this experience would have been 60 times worse. If you're considering getting this game don't, do yourself a favor and pretend this game doesn't exist because it shouldn't.
Thank you for listening to my TED talk
19:05 paradoxically even on heat you could've slightly missed the checkpoint and still count, hell in heat you were getting only a speed slowdown if you were missing the checkpoint worse than normal. it's insane how many downgrades unbound had compared to heat
dont miss the checkpoint then, you drove badly
@@gawizard4980 dude what? it happens to get a slightly worse line sometime, it's just annoying missing the checkpoint for 5 pixels and getting resetted. heat has a margin error where you can actually slightly miss the checkpoint at least

I first played this on that EA Pass thing, got the game for a month and never even finished it. I did the same thing for Heat, finished it within a week and then bought it after enjoying a 2nd playthrough
I actually preferred Unbound over Heat, but I don't think either of them are entirely enjoyable.

I agreed with the point about Unbound catering to non NFS fans. It’s like they put emphasis on everything else other than the racing to the point where the game felt soulless

My Idea remove the meta of this arcade game. A game where personal expression is part of the sell. make all cars perform the same or be able to make all cars be able to handle the same. but focus more on peoples expression rather than Meta cars, there will be meta tuning but you can put it on any car. I don't want to drive an audi to have better handling which I didn't know about. the handling in this game hurts me so much, this game has had so many problems. big let down, game looked good but handles like a donkey. and PLZ why TF are there grass drift events??
The handling actually have large input lag. Plus, every car turns their wheels extremly slow to corner and back to straight (it's more simulator feature, not arcade). In summary we have a large turn every time with jelly car.
Think there’s something wrong on your end, cause i have no input lag in unbound. Motorfest however has massive input lag until i made a lot of tweaks with steam controller settings, could be a similar issue with unbound for you?

It can`t... Unbound is beyond saving
Trying to like this is game for me is like admitting that Earth is flat... Not gonna happen.
Heat had the perfect formula when it came to most of the stuff.
-Sanctioned races and Street Races
-The amount of races in Unbound, compared to Heat is laughable
-Music was not perfect but a million times better. Hell, would listen to TU MANERA a million times than to hear that guy yell "MASSO MASSO..." in my ear on more time.
-People criticized the story of Heat, while it was decent and had potential for characters to return in the future.
-The AI overall in Unbound was terrible, both racers and cops. Even reducing the difficulty doesn`t do much. While in Heat there was barely any rubber banding and the difficulty was perfectly optimized depending on what you choose.
-Heat, a game which trailer clearly showed intent to push cops on players, the game still let you take a breather with the SH showdown races. In Unbound, 90% of the time you are forced into a chase for no reason just to please the crowd who like cops. Not to mention, cops on every corner, even at a lower heat than 4 and 5.
The map in Heat was not perfect but the vibe for me personally is unforgettable.
The economy was very well done, you still had to race for a while and grind out to get that car you wanted but that was how it should be. In Unbound, you waste money on buy-ins and garage upgrades just to be able to get your existing car faster.
Then, there is the fact that EA took away Heat`s cars from players and started reselling them as DLC. (Deluxe and Legendary cars)
After that, the lack of single player content, while multiplayer is pushed.
Photo mode compared to Heat is also pathetic.
EA bought Codemasters for nothing...

Not only it's a snoozefest streaming this game, it's snoozefest even watching cut video from stream about it. I don't understand why this game is so bland and boring.
Just make nfs 2015 with good handling and better cops.

Reviews. Broken mess. Handling sucks
UNBOUND. Hey guys we added some things you can buy, which makes it a little better, but only these cars. BUY THIS GARBAGE.
People. THIS game SUCKS
i just hate criterion NFS games equally. they made the series too similar to burnout which was unneccesary and they effectively killed burnout series at the same time. now they are in this weird limbo where they cant go to either side and each game feels exactly the same as the one before in terms of handling.
This is just plain wrong
I enjoy NFS Unbound, unlike Heat, I can get above 60 FPS with my 3060 Ti, Heat I can get 40 FPS if I'm lucky
But ignoring Heat's optimisation issues, the story is boring, the driving is boring, it's definitely one of the worst NFS games
The story is just a small part of the game, you can like it or not. The handling varies between all cars so you should try different ones.
For instance, the Corvette C6 Z06 has a gripping handling while the Viper SRT is meant to drift, both of these are S Tier cars and they’re equally good. You can tune the cars too to fit your liking but to their core they will keep at least some of their handling features. That’s where you have to make the choice.
people love the MW05 story, NFS does the same story for a new game and people hate it.
unbound doesnt need no saving wym?
Whats off putting for me in NFS Unbound is that .....schizo graphic effects. And low-budget animated people aesthetics.
Driving Effects disabled by default? cringe.🤢

Speaking about Criterion, wish they would take all those informations they got from community and put them into new game instead of updates to game which still leaves bad taste,
I personally find the visual and handling a good improvement from the base game (which is already good enough), minor nitpicking is the removal of the driving effects from AI opponents gives Unbound less character.
It never was good enough, the drifting is shiet because you cant do long sweeping drifts like in other games. Its like they completely just disable the wheel spin like end drift when you want to transition.
And the took the grind to another level which i really dislike
@@FineW_TurboM111 yeah the drifting is terrible in Unbound (I don't drift a lot preferring grip builds) which as far as I can tell is somewhat fixed in Unite. Regular handling felt similar to the base game though.

Night runners makes FoV extreme at high speeds + the roads are tight. No shit it feels fast

Just drop a remaster of a black box and we fine
Or they can dlc the ghost era maps for unbound.
I don't understand why cars don't skid when cornering with b2d disabled. Is it so difficult to let them do it by simple inertia when turning instead of having to apply the brake or, conversely, understeer? I'm talking about the base game. In any game from 2000, they worked like this
Games nowadays try to catter to everyone with sliders and shit and in the end everyone still has something to say
There is a single person working on handling? Its baffling to me that such an important part depends on a single person doing the right thing.
So the thing about burst Nitro is, that it nullifies all physics and environmental influences on your car.
Meens: Imagine you hit a 90 degrees corner and you are to fast, or you cant make the corner, just hit the handbrake until the nose of your car points in the direction you want to go, hit burst nitro and you will go straight foward.
Dont turn while burst nitroing. I gives you super downforce, and will mess you up, buuut it can save you in alot of situations.
Using the burst during the turn is faster overall but requires more careful steering input
For example the regera will snap on you in some corners but if u start a reaaaaaallllly swallow drift and burst the car turns like a dream but be careful of curbs 😂
It wont because its a mod only on pc console players dont benefit from this
It would be cool if they would add some of the improvements into the based game
tbh, unbound wasn't really a bad game. The worst of it for me were the cop chases. They were too much and were too forced upon the player. For me it got so annoying that i stopped playing the game despite playing every other NFS title.
EDIT: Oh yeah and the money system threw me off a little bit too much
Cop chases were my favorite part because it was super challenging and forced you to risk a lot for high rewards.
The fact that there's not even a single pursuit above Heat 1 in the whole video already makes me not like their cop rework, lol. The whole fun i had from this game was the cops hunting you all the time thrill, this doesn't give me that feeling whatsoever here. Especially that they added more races so its even easier to make money for the weekend race.... It was already too easy, they made it even easier...
I think that Unite for Unbound is kinda pointless, because the base game is already pretty good.
Still, having different handling model is pretty nice - cops, graphics and smaller additions too.
Yeah i came back after break and i noticed changes in handling model, i been able to drift in this game which been almost impossible at launch.
Still waiting for drag races :D Next Volume will be dope.
Cannot agree in the slightest, whatever changes UNITE bring to the table was something that the base game should've had by default.
Maybe not so much the experimental handling model but pair all the other changes with Audi's handling throughout all the cars and then this game would be something that it had to have been during release.
@@SynderendAudi Handling is really good and sets the table for the next game. They could even implement it to every car now but would make cars like the Regera even better and unstoppable.
Unbound is UNGOOD.
Same could be said for heat. It doesn’t matter it improved the game and makes it much more enjoyable imo with the new visuals and new sense of speed and unrestricted customization
I don't think I've ever even tried the Audis and I enjoyed my time with Unbound. The drift and takeover events were kinda ass but otherwise I found it fun. Early on spent most of my time driving the Eclipse. Mid and late game Porsches, Lambos and Ferraris all drove nicely tuned to grip handling. Some of the proper exotics had the annoying bit where cars bottom out and lose grip but that shit was in Heat too.
edit: I am talking about singleplayer only. I'll be dead before I join an NFS online lobby - I deal with enough cretins in Forza Motorsport and NFS players (read: children) are even bigger cunts
UNITE made me BUY NfS Heat last year and I enjoy it. However I cant think how cold dark Chicago is supposed to be better than bright colorful Miami. I dont see the Need for Upgrade here :)
But I can see that UNITE would make people jump into Unbound with all the good changes it brings tho the table. Selecting a " modern NfS" can be quite a pain, even more when they are vanilla. As usual, if a racing games handlings isnt great, its not a great racing game. And watching the video I still dont like the style of Unbound, the cringy story, the dull graphics, the boring soundtrack and that the characteres are always talking at you during driving. Its nice that the devs try to update this game, but at some point its not worth riding a dead horse that has a low playerbase...
If someone fixes unbound's awful drift handling so that we can keep sliding for longer like in heat unite before, that's when I'm returning to the game. The burst nitro spinning you out is actually a new feature in unite if you read the features. They removed the mechanic that makes the car stay still and drop wheelspin when you burst in a corner

Yes, yes, and yes 👍🏻
9:17 Absolutely not. Why? Because the most beloved need for speed games from the blackbox era were ones that tried to experiment and be creative. If unbound is deemed a failure and criterion are forced to play the formula safe, we’re going to get games like forza horizon 5 and fm8 and they’re infinitely worse and more soulless than unbound.
I agree that unbound’s story is bad and single player content is bad, but unbound has a lot of additions that would have never come from not innovating. Yellow nos is incredible if you understand how it works, daytime doesn’t look like booty cheeks, and they actually gave us a good grip handling model.
Well, I'm in the minority. I prefer to play Unbound right from the premiere than to touch Heat (I even liked Payback recently). Unbound's music is also a bit better than the Latin music from Heat.
Yeah the Latin music fitted the game but it wasn’t a good selection for a racing game. I am latin myself and it just felt so off.
Heat had good music but i hate how they were separated between free roam and race. It's tiring to listen to the same songs over and over again.
