The better half was wrong. That is a first! :) We bought a camper some time ago and as we were checking it out, my Mrs. said - "our fridge won't fit in that slide out". BS, I said, it'll fit in easy. The fridge didn't fit by 5mm too high. Good to have you guys back, and yes, we all need "that time".
hi guys great that your back i have just had the "explorer pack and tray " put on my duel cab hilux went with just bare ali look and love it guys at MRT perth reckon it was the first bare (smooth) ali one they had done cheers also for the code word in your earlier vids pick up the pantry for free as a bonus take care look forward to shark bay vids as i hoping to get to dirk hartog soon
Welcome back. Thanks for the reminder. I gotta do that myself and get my 4WD weighed. I think I'm slowly approaching GVM when I'm packed for full camping/touring mode. The only saving grace is that I have upgraded my entire brake system for a heavy duty version. But still, I'd like my rig to weight a lot less, if it can.
Welcome back guys, loving your videos. Stumbled upon your videos recently whilst researching canopy builds and 12v setups. I've definitely borrowed and incorporated a few of your ideas in my canopy setup. Enjoy the Monkey Mia trip. I was there 11 years ago and loved it. The flies do get a little annoying but it's totally worth it. Watch for the emus at Monkey Mia too, they'll come right up to you and snatch anything not nailed down. The dolphin feeding sessions are also a must.
I started watching awhile ago and you've both come along way with how you approach the presentation of your channel, good to have you back. hope you continue for a long time to come and I find your content both informative and interesting. good luck with the future.
Glad you're back mate 👍👍👍 2022, 4x4 Dmax crewcab ute has a gvm of 2165kg cerb weight and a load rating of 998kg. IIRC there's a roof line load limit of 50kg ...... not 100% sure but in 2005 a spare tyre and a full gerry can was the insurance load limit for a roof rack.
I just went to the Canning Vale truck weighbridge and my Extra cab Colorado is 250kg heavier than I thought 😔😔 My 1ton ute is now a 750kg ute with a 260kg canopy on it costing us a total of 510kg. We are off over east at the end of the month so we are now madly weighing everything and dropping things off the fit-out. Thanks for shining a light on this topic (that I overlooked). A long range fuel tank (full) and the ARB heavy steel bullbar.
Francois Peron national Park is amazing, I stayed at South Gregories. The whole area is incredible, the colours will make for some great filming. Actually going up to steep point and staying at shelter bay this September, can't wait.
Hey guys, So great to see you back, hopefully the break allow you to feel a bit better about things. You have created a great channel and looking forward to seeing what comes up in the future 🙂
Welcome back guys, good episode as I am about to do a canopy build soon, I have most of the bits, just got to fit it out now and this gives me a decent ballpark to work from & a bit more food for thought. Cheers
hey guys great to have you back😊I put a 90lt water tank under the tray which is only 110mm high so fits between the ribs, works great as when our poptop caravan runs out we drive to water source and transfer into van🙂 looking forward to your new trips.
Good to have you back. Quality content is worth the "weight" 🙂 My aim is to only take what I need although I'm not always successful at this! You'll love Steep Point and Francois Peron area and have the perfect set up for it.
Thanks Louis! Yeah the weight tends to add up pretty quickly! Then again, it's understandable for vehicles that have everything we need to live out of I suppose. 🙂
Isuzu MY18 SX manual space cab chassis canvas canopy with alloy engineered roof for load bearing. Fully loaded for touring with 40 lt water under tray, 60 lt diesel tank under tray. All Bar work. Heaps of spares and tools and all camping gear and fridge. 3200KG with full water and full fuel in oem tank and under tray fuel tank empty. two adults. 2nd spare up top. Heap of 12v gear and solar panel. GVM/GCM upgrade from Lovells. 400kg from revised GVM. GCM 7000kg. I don't tow for now. With 60lt of extra fuel under tray plus extra stuff I could add another 200kg and have 200 kg to spare for 3600kg revised maximum GVM,
@@goonshark8668 Yes, potentially insurance voided as well. Any modification to a vehicle that exceeds their specifications, which has or may have caused problems, will give manufacturer's a 'get out of jail' in regard to warranty and Australian consumer law provisions.
My dmax with canopy and fitout rtt and 270 awning water tank bullbar rocksliders with luggage for 2 comes in at around 3.1T. I think the message here is no touring dual cab can remain under factory gvm and needs a gvm upgrade. Good video, if ur ever in canningvale they have a DOT approved weighbridge that weighs individual axles. Interesting to know ur weights And finally pedders do a load measuring on board scales .. what a complete rip off... 3 and a half grand.
Fully loaded the Dmax gets about 14L / 100km on the open road, bit higher than I would like but hoping a tune might settle this in future. The Ranger used to get about 12L / 100km so a bit better (and it had more power haha).
Welcome back mate! This was a good video, and was really good information for me as I'm considering getting an ally canopy too, but my suspension isn't rated for 500kg. Not sure if it's worth forking out the $12k+ for the canopy, plus another $1k for new springs with 500kg constant. Anyway, looking forward to the Shark Bay videos!!
Great question - only about 20L of fuel so the total weight would be ≈50kg higher with it full. It sure is, coincidentally there was someone down there flying their RC plane on the afternoon we filmed this. 🙂
Only thing I would suggest is stop talking like a danoz direct infomercial when your doing the walk arounds or reviews other than that keep up the good work and well done you have earned it .
If you're a city driver I'd definitely agree, however if you use these vehicles for any kind of touring I'd consider a bullbar essential - I've hit kangaroos on the highway that would destroy the front end of a stock vehicle with this bar and not taken a scratch.
Great to see you back and refreshed!
Glad to have you both back ✌️
I loved how you promoted your time out on your channel, great work Dan 👍
Thanks mate 🙂

@@explorebound Yep, that's it, its all down hill from here.
Glad to see you back online! Hope you had a great break.
Even RUclips has faith in you. Your video was at the top of my news feed.
I look forward to the videos as they come. 🍻
Glad to have you back. Your build has given some inspo for my future build to come ❤
Great video mate, and welcome back! 😀. The big Maxy is looking awesome!
It's like your annual holiday guys, you need a break now an than. Looking forward to the new clip. Stay safe!

Nice one mate, I'm sure you'll love the setup!! Ours has been working really well for us over the past year. 👌

Love your work.
You’re looking fresh. Welcome back ❤

Always good to have you guys back 😊
Any idea of the base weight of the tray, and the canopy. Just waiting for my MRT quote to come thru.
Glad you're back mate 👍👍👍

Nice one! I have been looking into a few undertray solutions, good spot for heavy storage I reckon. 👍
Great content guys. Love it.
Hi with your gvm upgrade what kg rate spring did you put in the rear
Interesting - We may have to check our DMAX 🙂
sorry bit late to seeing video welcome back im doing mine soon

Welcome back 🙏 ☺️ 😊
Great to see you both, yeah my duelcab weighs around 2900 and that's without a gvm upgrade, over gvm I'm sure

Bear in mind that any GVM 'upgrade' may create issues with any future warranty claims.
Yes i have heard a lot of GVM upgrades would mean exceeding the OEM axle weights which insurance companies will class as being over weight

Love your videos mate, where are the plastic draw tubs in the back from?
I got them from Big W 👍
Your D-Max is starting to look tough. Must be the lower RTT and wider wheels.
5:35 Ooo how you have fallen. A Maloo to an Astra 😦😅
Watch this space 👀
so your canopy is 520kgs curious what a ute back alone would weigh, 150kgs-200kgs??
Keep up the good work
What suspensions do you have ?
Pedders 2" suspension lift and GVM upgrade
What sort of fuel economy do you get with a fully loaded rig. Do the dmax and ranger compare?
Fully loaded the Dmax gets about 14L / 100km on the open road, bit higher than I would like but hoping a tune might settle this in future. The Ranger used to get about 12L / 100km so a bit better (and it had more power haha).

Yeah certainly food for thought! The weight tends to add up pretty quickly when you've got the space to fill haha.
Did you have full tank of fuel? 🤔 also awesome lake, good for r/c car and flying r/c planes ahaha
Great question - only about 20L of fuel so the total weight would be ≈50kg higher with it full. It sure is, coincidentally there was someone down there flying their RC plane on the afternoon we filmed this. 🙂
2900! Holy crap!
Cool
Hi mate
Nice rig good info only critasism

You didn't do the front and rear Axel loads so that's not proving anything
He wasn’t weighing that. It was the weight of the canopy that he was comparing
@chriswood15592 without looking at front and rear Axel he does actually know anything
What's your rear axel rated to. And how much weight have you got on it? If it's over, don't comment here for insurance purposes wink wink.
Do you still interested in keep talking our partnership?😊
Hi Auxbeam, I’m not taking on new review projects at the moment but thanks for reaching out. 🙂
@@explorebound No problem:) Hope this will change in the future and we'll always open to talk with you:)

Your bullbar is unnecessary and just adds weight you could better spend in other places
If you're a city driver I'd definitely agree, however if you use these vehicles for any kind of touring I'd consider a bullbar essential - I've hit kangaroos on the highway that would destroy the front end of a stock vehicle with this bar and not taken a scratch.
