@@Sharkofspace It's six dollars for an atmospheric horror game that manages to scare you by playing with your expectations. Well worth the price in my opinion and much better than most modern horror games that just devolve into nonstop jumpscare fests.

I think it's more of Claustrophobia and fear of the unknown? The camera is literally both combined so yea. I'd still be scared if it wasn't the ocean. If the game isn't as linear and you have to manage your resources, it would probably be even scarier
I can understand it. You ever watch a scary movie or play a scary game and you go to get a drink, and the house is dark? And you suddenly decide you really arent that thirsty...
did you know they added a terminal with tons of lore because the game did so well and in that it, it's confirmed that the sea of blood is in fact human blood and no they don't know how it's not coagulated, that's some cosmic horror right there!
The ending made sense as there was no way the operator of that submarine would have a happy ending. They were trapped in a submarine moving through an ocean of blood. Thats nightmarish and like something out of Doom.
Well, and the people who sent you down there never had ANY intentions of letting you live to begin with, even if you make it back alive they just keep you in there and watch as you slowly suffocate (according to the terminal added in the update)
Thank god someone's noticed it too, i mentioned in my comments that it feels way too much like someone who is trying so hard to make it funny but gets kinda annoying as it goes on. 💀 I guess the new editor might be either into the "zoomer type humour" or used to edit this type of style
This isn't any old horror game, this is a TERROR game. Deep ocean, terrifying. Ambiguous black and white photos, terrifying. Potentially getting pounced on by an unknown creature from behind you, absolutely fucking terrifying.
Fun Fact: Everything that happens is a line of code and doesnt affect your game, so the fire and oxygen dont matter, they just trigger at a certain part of the game Edit: Also at 10:56, Connor was teleported by the anomaly
No, I'm pretty sure that while the fire is triggered at a determined point, it does destroy the ship after a certain amount of time if not extinguished. The oxygen is purely for dread though.
@@void-creature nope, its true, the fire doesnt affect your game at all, i’ve seen a YT video explaining that everything triggers through a certain part of the game, the fire doesnt do anything but light up your sub, you dont die.

This game was such an amazing and fresh touch to this ocean of shitty horror stuff. Really well made idea, the dev even decided to put some more stuff and details if you want to know lore and more check it out. Cant wait to see more of the Dev, amazing work.
Yeah, this game is another great example of how atmosphere is a pillar to any good horror game. You're left alone to navigate uncharted waters in a vessel that could become your coffin at any moment, with the looming threat of *what* lies in depths giving you constant unease and putting you on edge. Combined with the sense of urgency it gives you from the oxygen depleting, you're left feeling both vulnerable and desperate to survive. Good horror knows that gradually building your fear with its environment is more effective than just trying to startle you with a jumpscare at every corner, and this game is proof of that.
Did Connor hired a new editor? Idk if it's just Mudan experimenting new editing style or this new editor is high on crack, the amount of unnecessary memes/fx in this video would put an over-dramatic bollywood action movie to shame

This game is insanely cool and creative. Being only able to take crappy photos with a few seconds of delay between pressing the trigger and seeing the image adds an insane amount of dread to it, and operating the rust bucket with tangible in-game buttons instead of direct controls on the keyboard makes it damn immersive. And the mystery of it all makes you want to go back and search through the sea floor for the stuff that shouldn't be there like the buildings and portals. Even its short running length works in its favor IMO.
I admire the effort for all the edits like that takes a lot of time an energy, I just think it messed with the vibe. Don’t want to be mean about it, but this is probably the playthrough I enjoyed the least of the people I’ve watched play it, just because of the edits.

"Honking terrifying"
And not being able to see, besides photos
Dont forget about the fear of the unknown
It’s more scarier, when with all of that you also hear a Honk somewhere in the submarine.

According to his heartbeat, the scariest thing was walking through his own apartment to close the door🤔
Too much junk food with no exercise will do that to you... :D
There's also the terrifying possibility that he finds his door unlocked and recently opened.
Iron Lung doesn't have a lot of jump scares. It is more dread.
Most likely caused by him changing positions from sitting to standing and moving - not related to his psychological stress level
