As a 2015 melee boomer myself, your progress in 6 months is fucking crazy!!! I wish i was that solid after 6 months when i first started playing! Keep on your grind my friend, youre killing it 🔥
Anyone else started watching hour long documentaries about Smash Melee without playing a single match? Cause I'm doing it and they are so entertaining. I also love that even low subscribed Smash Melee RUclipsrs (like this video I got recommended about) are funny, insightful and I enjoy every seconds of it. Maybe those crazy SNES/N64 and other Nintendo songs that keeps me intrigued throughout. Keep up the good work!
You can see the disproportion of his tech skill. After almost every move he stands still like a typical newcomer would do but he already does walk off ledge jump dairs with falco which is definetelyon a higher level. I can see what he loves about the game. Just beautiful.

This reminds me of how MvC2 just had it's release on PC and there are so many killers, it's 2024 and anybody can learn a game if they are fully invested lets go!!

This video is definitely the most relatable content for someone who has tried to start playing competitively and realising the skill gap between casual players and competitive players, AND I mean competitive not pro! I'm fours years deep and still feel like that when i lose to someone shmoving on my ass.
Great video, I would HIGHLY recommend learning how to do your own repairs and maintenance on your controller. Most of it you can do pretty easily and there’s a ton of guides on how to fix the majority of controller issues
I really enjoyed this video. Everything from the music, to your narration, to the months of work that it took for the story and raw video - it out was really well done.
Glad that the tournament didn’t dissuade you from continuing to enjoy the game. As long as you’re having fun and trying to learn things you will always get better and the games you play with people will get more interesting as a result
This video absolutely bangs, you improved so fast and it seems like you have a great mentality around competition. Awesome video man. Melee is the game that keeps on giving back. No matter how good you get, you can always get something out of it. If you choose to keep competing, welcome to the scene! If this was just a one-off experiment for you, I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. Melee is sick! Also P.S. really sick editing!
I’ve seen a bunch of these types of vids and personally seen tons of melee players start and how good they got in 6 months, and I gotta say, in addition to making a great video, you improved pretty quick! I’ve def seen players at 6 months that are quite a bit worse, hope you keep enjoying the game! Also every new player plays falco (and so do I) and when u started with marth I was so excited 😂😂 welcome to the bird club! I do find that the game is much easier to learn on fox/falco, and you can always switch later. My secondaries are all really good now without putting that much time on them just from understanding the game through falco
I love that you go for very high Dairs off stage as an edgeguard method. A lot of people wouldn’t because it’s “risky” so people usually call it a “dumb move” but honestly even if it trades, you most likely will just go back to stage and they will lose a stock.
Controller modder here. About the jammed L trigger: it's very common for dirt to go inside the trigger potentiometer (aka the lever), so most of the times just using a dry toothbrush with enough strenght and angles should fix it. You need to take the controller apart, but if you're afraid, you can ask australian modders (there are modders there)

Another helpful bit of advice would be to just buy a phob motherboard. You can use almost all the parts from your original controller with it and a lot of people who sell them will mod triggers, sticks etc for you for like $20-40 more. Like $150 US all in. Cuts the cost in half
A good tip is to turn on the overlay called "wait" and "spacie tech" when you're playing unclepunch. It will help speed up your overall play a bunch. "Wait" makes you turn green whenever you aren't moving which will show you when your slow to dash after aerials or between dair shines etc. "Spacie tech" gives you the frame data for a lot of the things so you'll know how slow you are when doing dair shines and other moves. Have fun.
