The bottom line, the devs have proven themselves to be incapable of fixing the game. Whether it be by their choice or the studios, they put profit over gameplay.
The game is monetized trash.
Great video, no one is going to be fully happy but at a base line they should start to ask themselves "is this fun". Running to a location in an empty zone fun? farming Duriel materials fun? Farming potions for the gauntlet fun? Ect.
Developing substance in a game that’s engaging to interact with is harder than creating chores and tasks.
Now that LE is out with fully developed systems like loot filters, meticulous crafting system, search feature, & plethora of skill options, it's hard not to play with these features so D4 will need a revamp and match these systems if they want to redirect my attention back to D4.
I'm a casual and my wife is more casual. We like to play D4 together...but S3 has been a steaming pile of "meh," especially after how cool S2 was. When you try to please everyone, you end up ticking everyone off.

Yeah they lost their identity because they listened to a community of D3 players and streamers which was a big mistake.
All the streamers shouting 'D4 bad' are one of the main reasons for that loss of identity.
I'm 100% convinced that Blizz will never again listen to this community ... for good reason.
Yes the game is far from perfect, but the players didn't have to spend 1 cent since release and Blizz are constantly trying to appease a community of vultures who have nothing but bitterness and spite to bring to the table.
I'm a lot angrier at this godawful 'community' than at Blizz.
I leveled three characters to level 100 and just did not have anything else to do. Hopefully season 4 is closer to season 2 as everyone has been hoping for.
I'm surprised you. I played 1 character per season and got to 90+, but not 100. I never saw the point to play past level 90. There was no point.
Hated D3 so much that I did not purchase a Blizzard product for 0ver 10 years so I hope they do not go that way but fear they may.
There is no endgame.
I think they could really use an approach where they segment what activities are and for who, I think the flat requirements for certain things are frustrating for one or another group or groups.
They also have a significant issue around rewards. More of the same loot doesn’t help, and they have other levers they could pull that they’re just not using. Cosmetics would go a long way. Save a set for the hardcore to earn and just factor it into the spend! Mats and elixirs and incense drops would make a lot more sense in addition to 925 power items.
I think AOZ was a step in the right direction, but it has to be alongside the season start and not have some weeks later. It’s an engagement strategy for hardcore players, not for casual audience who has the seasonal activities to do anyway. The hardcore players feel like they have nothing at season start for them and don’t have any interest to jump back in mid season. Over time some of the casual base will work towards what the hardcore already conquered but at their own pace.
You know what every Diablo game had Before Diablo IV? Diablo.
The expansion will 100% have Diablo and we will pay for it.

I love D4 but even I’ve got tired of its lack of identity. I think they just need to make it an ARPG and every season we have to run the campaign at least once. That’s the only thing they got right from the start.
The problems began when they got away from the formula starting in Diablo 3. That's where they lost their identity. Being in the year 2024, being a beloved IP, being a billion dollar studio... what they delivered for Diablo 4 is unacceptable. I truly do not believe there is any "saving" this game. Seeing how they are handling this game, charging $20 for skins and the rest of the nonsense makes me kinda want them to fail at this point.
Agreed. They changed the series a long time ago and fractured the player base. D4 doesn’t seem to please either group. Probably because the game is completely underdeveloped. I won’t touch any expansion when the original release was so severely half-baked.
I'm the biggest d4 fan, but I just can't bring myself to even login anymore. It's so boring and pointless. I've moved on to other games for now. It's such a let down.
For me I felt that Diablo 4 was not as good as immortals. My thoughts are, become more like the Diablo immortal. But on console. or move into the future of open worlds

I'm not coming back until they add a crusader or paladin. Holy warriors have been a mainstay since the second game and without them slaughtering demons wholesale makes less sense than diablo 4s storyline.
It starts with a good leader. No leadership. Development split into two teams. No ptr to test the major patches. I'm waiting for the pay to win contest to be added .

tomorrow is the day. it's do or die for a lot of people. I don't even care waht the season 4 theme is. all I care about is if they fix loot and make it more interesting. Cuz atm I don't have fun picking up items and sitting in town looking at total garbage.
at this point i really dont think anything blizzard does can save this now. its become a fad to meme on d4 bad. but when people were asked what they wanted. they got it lol. everything that comes out with be disappointed because you dont care about the game at all
When I bought the game I wanted good itemization, endgame content, and build depth and variety. I got none of these and so i quit a week before season 1 and won’t return to this underdeveloped shell of a game. It deserves to be dunked on. It can’t even offer standard quality of life features.
D4 start become boring when Blizzard listen to players complaint and buff this and that. They overbuff the NM dungeon as players found normal dungeon can get the same reward and the entire open world is dead after NM dungeon buff. Player complaint the trap in Vault is slowing them down, they artificially removed the trap and now everyone just plays Vault as it has more loot and no annoying objective and the entire NM dungeon and open is dead together 😂 Blizzard needs to learn how Fromsoftware develop their game, they create fun content and expect players so follow the path and find their enjoyment instead of tweak here and that.
The game was completely underdeveloped at release and remains so. It is no surprise that they would resort to shifting numbers around to try and retain interest. They have nothing much to work with to add onto. No endgame systems, fatally flawed itemization, shallow character building. The game is sunk.

The only end game this game has is running helltides and doing duriel runs .. let’s be honest Diablo immortal is a better game than D4.

Overwatch 2 finally killed and Diablo 2 is next in line.... I don't get why people still believe what "Blizzard" says after not delivering anything serious for nearly 2 decades.... I already have too many games with much higher quality to play than what they threw on the market. I played Diablo 4 when it got out for a bit but at the end quickly got sick of it and moved on. .... just like with anything else they released since WoW-Pandaria. Never again Blizzard ( in my opinion they don't deserve that name since ages ). I even looked into PoE again just because i was curious about the similarities and stayed with it longer. Blizzard ? Na, i don't care anymore since no promise is kept and no compairable quality is delivered. My time is more precious to me than this. If others enjoy - that's great - but i can't and don't sadly...

A Diablo game without the prime evils isnt Diablo. All the previous games had atleast a fightable prime evil in it and fun endgame content. We dont even see the high heavens either so much is missing
Diablo 3 is the best arpg. I played diablo one week ago after playinh wow for decades and its simplicity and its itemization is just pure beautiful and fun to play. I think diablo3 have just made enjoy it way more than wow unless there arena involved. And it scratches the itch way better than cs or dota2. To me its super fun , simple , elegant and beautiful.
More like Diablo 4's identity was AWOL when the game launched. It has always felt like a decent ARPG, but NOT a Diablo caliber ARPG. That's because all the talent that even knew what a Diablo game felt like have LONG since been gone from Blizzard.
Edit - YES! Diablo 3 was the casual Diablo game honed to perfection for the casual player. Diablo 4 feels like a HUGE step backwards for this crowd of ARPG gamer. Diablo 4 has never come CLOSE to delivering anything close to a Diablo 3 experience. The itemization in D4 has always been so incredibly dull. Its just an entirely mediocre ARPG game.
If the price for D4 were $40, like Helldivers 2, then we would be grading on a curve, but no. Diablo 4 costs $70 and it is sounding like Blizzard want to charge another $100 for its expansion. Fuck that! I just quit playing the game, given that prospect.

Diablo 2 resurrected if it released today is a better game in my view than d4. And d2r is nowhere near the best arpg in modern day. D4 is just not good. It’s a shell of a game.
