there are 100 cents (semitones) between each key. so for example between C# and D, there are 100 cents. so i took the whole beat and dropped it by 50 cents from the original key of D minor, making it D minor (-50 cents). you can pitch correct it back to a true D minor by just simply raising the pitch for the beat by 50 cents to make it easier to record on. then drop the beat and vocals back down 50 cents to make it sound like the original beat. but it’s all your preference, i just did it like that because it sounded good to me. and i honestly like experimenting with different pitches. sorry for the essay and i hope this helped! thanks for the love!
