Congrats! You have an ANIMAL of a synth there! SO many sonic possibilities, I LOVE mine! Smart move getting the coolest one! They both sound the same, but for a few bucks more you are forever in STYLE!!!!
Thank so much. I love this stuff and def am a noob so I never wanna steer anyone wrong but I do have to share how geeked I am sometimes. Who can't relate to that right?
@SauceSoundz I usually record some chords on like 3-4 tracks on my daw using differe t synths sound then sample the composition in the MPC chop it up and make something. Its sampling yourself.
@@mindexpansionpuzzles u think a J6 is worth getting or does it stop u from learning how to play? I been thinking bout grabbing one. Super 6 is a monster btw
@@SauceSoundz I have Matriarch, it does "Moog" sound and a lots more, but Pro 3 (and Pro 2 before it) were staple of my mono synthesis. Wavetables make it expand sonically, I did tons of sound design with Pro 3 for video games, for instance.
@@SauceSoundz overall it is very different. Moog does what Moog does well. There is no argument there. I always love this Evolver architecture that ended with Prophet 12/ Pro 2 and 3, but has some heritage in Rev2 and Teo and Take. The workflow is familiar, oscillators are beefy, P6 filter is creamy (although some people find it “dim”), and SEM filter, wave tables, morph, paraphony really take it to new places Sub37 just can’t go to. The only “gripe” is ladder filter that is just fine (I mean, the same filter is on Argon), all 3 filters on Pro 3 are proven on poly synths (P6, Argon, OB6). Also people find it “cold” - don’t know how, when it has those warm oscillators and drive. I guess “aggressive” is the word, and it can be with distortion and feedback tuning (that can do some sick droning in Karpus style). But it can also be soft and mellow, both with core oscillation and user waves. Matrix that allows for cross mod of everything, effects to top it off, sequencer with cv destinations, c mon! Again, I have other Sequential poly synths and Moog stuff, these things are for different tasks altogether. Not many mono synths can do what P3 can, for instance, recursive modulation, to start with bending envelopes.
@@earlsfield I figured I'd get this one first. Starry with a solid foundation and if I need the Moog sound I'll get a sub phatty or something. I've yet to come across really warm tones but I'm still just doing presets. I plan on doing a deep nosedive on the synth once I get some time. Thanks for dropping some knowledge hear I really appreciate it. I know there's gonna be a bunch of dudes reading comments and they will get a ton of value from reading these
@@SauceSoundzgood shit broski!!! Don’t fall into the GAS trap. Learn your gear inside and out. I’m not mad, but I do have to say I found out the hard way.
With a monosynth the whole point is exploring a sequence with your modulations. Have your sequence play and just play a scale with your fingers. You will have a lot of oh cr&p moments that you can record into the MPC. The better you get at running a sequence the more you will build your own flavor with your monosynth.
@@SauceSoundz Same here actually. It is really cool and was one of my first when it came out but I don't completely vibe with it. I did do that modification where you can turn it into a sound module by getting rid of the keys though. Pretty cool!
@@SauceSoundz It makes it a lot more interesting for some reason. Next step is to rackmount it (if it fits... haven't checked hah). Either way, great content! Keep it up 💥
Nice! Congratulations bro! The SE lets you adjust that panel kinda reminiscent of a Moog. I’ve been researching this board and the analog filters sound really good. Also the 3rd oscillator is a digital wave table I think. The sound design capabilities are pretty dope. I believe we spoke on this board before. This and the Hydra I think. It’s funny you mention the instruction manual. Believe it or not, I’ve heard the Pro 3 has the best instruction manual. I had never heard anyone compliment an instruction manual before but I’ve heard this one complimented twice lol. Congrats on the new addition to the studio!
Yea everything sounds big and analog. The wave tables let's u get crazy. I haven't made any sounds yet but I'll get there . I'll be opening up that manual too some day too lol. Ive heard the same about how well written it is
Thanks. It's expensive but fun. Since I've purchased this I added a hydrasynth, a Behringer edge and a crave to the lineup. It's a drug dude lol. But the pro 3 is the MVP of the lineup
Hey 👋 brother, I know the sample you are using for the background music. It’s Cry little Sister from the Lost Boys Soundtrack! I know my movies 🎥 and all different kinds of music. Hit me up if I’m correct brother. I Dj and produce music too. Lot’s to talk about. I like 👍 what you are doing. You have a great Passion. And that is what’s needed and important. 😊

so genuine with it bro, this was inspiring been wanting a synth too

Great Beat and Great Sounds
Nice purchase. Sample chords into the mpc and chop them in the mpc.
That's what I do with my Super 6, playing chords using a J-6.

Thank you!! Loving it!
you have bought one of the best mono synths out there. I have it for a few years and it even surpassed Moog Subsequent 37 in use.
That's good to hear. I was cross shopping with the sub 37 and the grandmother. Happy with it so far.
