id rather have a case that makes my phone bigger than a cracked screen that costs a kidney to fix
Ye you weren’t paying attention. The one with the otter box would have cracked too but it fell on its back, not on the screen
Elias Vaida Are you familiar with physics? The ‘thinner’ back is the reason, why the other case constantly fell on its front. A falling object will rotate, but when it’s center of gravity is changed, that rotation can be nudged towards the heavier side hitting the ground first, of course you need to control for a few things, such a high enough drop etc. to allow the object to rotate, but it’s clearly part of the design.
The Otterbox also is designed in a way where for most of the combinations where it isn’t falling flat on the ground, the edges of the case and the consistency of the material direct the kinetic energy applied to the case is not effecting the phone itself but the case, which is why you see it bounce so much, it’s really designed to avoid shock absorption by the phone, and the materials used for shock absorption are very well separated from the the static materials surrounding the phone. The sleeker style in this case is just bad engineering.

If you can drop so many times and at such a height repeatedly, it goes to show that iphone is a damn good phone in the first place. No matter how good the case maybe, if the phone is no good, it will break on the first drop. Agree?

It's good how you do multiple drops to ensure its fair. Some channels conclude a case is good or bad based on a single drop, which may land on a particular angle.
I have the otterbox defender for my iPhone 7 and it has never disappointed me.

I've got both of these cases and they work both really well when switching a week into each one
Right as you did 60 drops as test ONE I knew I was in for an intense drop test. (but cool how you made the drops fun to watch)
when you get the s8 and the s8+ variant, be sure to do a speed test of s8vs s8+, exynos processors both
Kinda pointless. We all know Exynos will crush Snaplaggin'. One of the few times it sucks to be in North America.

I bought a tech 21 case, definitely recommend. Purchased mine 2 years ago for my iPhone X and is still intact and must of dropped 10 thousand times! 😂 Also the type I purchased was Evo Check Fuschia around £20-30 sorry I do not know the conversions to $ for people in the states. Definitely worth the money! Hope this helped 😀

What I really want to know is how much do the cases actually absorb the shock from the internals.
At 3:39 you mentioned screen protector ... what kind of screen protector is on these phones? I'd like to know since it did such a good job in these tests. I guess the same type of protector was on both phones?
Also maybe next time do a test with and without screen protector so we can see how much protection the case offers versus the screen protector.
The reason the otter box didn’t fall on its side may be because of its weight distribution or is heavier on all side but could be on the corners.

however drops can damage internal components..
After my iPhone drop I had problems with phone calls as they were making crackling noises and get the no service more often than not ... Drop tests never really talk about the internal..
on another iPhone I dropped it and it had battery drain problems I had a new battery put in but nothing changed...
Then it wasn’t the battery
I'd recommend the otterbox, as it is actually more likely to land on it's back, as that's where most of the weight is packed.

Ok, I know I'm not the only person to watch this video that notices glass/clear particles to fly away during the drop times of the 11ft drops @ 2:59- 3:07- 3:38. Drops from 22ft @ 4:31- 4:52. Drops from 33ft @ 5:39. Can the makers of the video explain what the glass particles are flying around after the phone's hit the ground? But the phones still remain in tact once they're picked up?
My phone over heated so I took the case off and went to go put it on something cool...But...It fell off it and landed on the corner and face planted right on to the concrete...It had a reasonable sized crack. I just got it repaired today and bought a screen protector and got a otter box defender...So I have 2 screen protectors including the one built into the otter box and no I think it’s crack proof! Yay
Which case would tou reccommend? Otterbox statement series or Tech 21 evo elite?
The screen prob doesn’t need to be replaced something happened on the inside I say the defender won and was not a tie.
