Prince wrote this for one of his side projects. But Sinead took it to another level. She also did a reggae version of Prince's I Would Die 4 U... check it out!
Her beautiful face, her powerful voice, the rawness of each word, filled with such heart and sincerity. She was an incredible artist. One of a kind. You are loved and missed Sinead O'Connor 💜
Sinead a native of Dublin Ireland left us July 2023 from natural causes including pulmonary disease & asthma. That inflection is classic of Irish singers
Nothing Compares To You was a N01 hit in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 and also in 18 other countries worldwide, and was one of the best selling songs of the 90s , it was also named the N01 world single, the song was written by PRINCE, but Sinead owned the song,it was nominated for 3 Grammy Awards,Sinead passed away on the 9th January 2024 aged 56 years old, great song great reaction thanks 🙏
This song was written and originally recorded by Prince. IMHO Sinead di it much better! Thanks for this. I agree , the way it's shot it's as if she is singing directly to the person watching.
From what I understood, Prince wrote this song about his housekeeper, whom he had a lot of respect for, but she had to leave. Sinead heard this song, and dedicated it to her mom, who was abusive towards her.
So, glad to see you react this way. She was an incredible phenomenon. Her voice carried her and so many who took a moment to listen. She was absolutely beautiful, as well. Prince wrote this song & she gave it pure grace. RIP to both of those beautiful wonders.
This is from her second album and really made her an international superstar (which she really couldn't handle). Her first album emerged on college radio in the late 80s. There are some amazing vocal performances on both albums. Try Troy from the first (The Lion and the Cobra).
Sinead was told by Marketing People that she needed to 'change' her Colour/ Style of Hair. So She shaved it off and went on to do it alone. RESPECT ❤ 🎶🎶

She ripped the popes picture her mother had hanging in their living room on the SNL show. She refused to dress half naked and let her hair grow long. She even fought Prince when she visited him at home when he tried to tell her how to behave on Tv. She ran away from his house in the middle of the night after he tried to abuse her physically. Police found her walking along the highway. So many stories and hardship in life. Mother abusive died young, her son passed away suicide just a 2 years ago before she passed away. Etc may she rest in peace, she found peace I hope in her last years through religion, Islam.
Sinead did a beautiful job singing this song. Prince wrote this song and in the early’90’s re-recorded it as a duet with his NPG band mate Rosie Gaines. Prince and Rosie’s version is my favorite and a must listen.
Such a haunting song. The dynamics in her voice are just so beautiful. The way the video is shot just amplifies all The Feels. Even the 80s sometimes got things right?

G'day mate
Its definitely a song about pain and heart break
Whats more she conveys it not only by voice but visually
The music enhances her voice beautifully
With the strings at certain times
Then you hear like choir backing sound coming going
Also the other instruments comimng going so nothing over done
You can see living the pain of the lyrics from personal experiences
It so relatable to anyone who had a relationship that broken up
Without agreeing to the seperation so carry the pain within them
Another female singer who's voice is as haunting beautiful is Karen carpenter
She also plays drums while singing as drums was her passion
But was pulled out from behind the drums to sing and all natural talent
You can see her glow everytime she got to play them
Her voice effects almost everyone who hears it and been referred to as angel singing
Yet she didn't think a great singer
These two would be two female's that effects people with voice and emotions
Its the intimacy they create with their eye's and voices
Cheers mate 🦘🇦🇺👍
