No, a 'slam' is a new term invented by slam death metal/deathcore bands to describe hardcore breakdowns in death metal songs. This is actually just a regular tempo break with mid paced riffing used in metal since 80's thrash bands. This however, is just extremely fucking heavy in all of it's elements.
slipknot is way too angsty. and its fans are way too defensive. metal fans in general are open to a wide selection of music, is it a coincidence most metal fans dislike slipknot?
