News at eleven: Dude on the internet discovers you need to buy the right size watch band…
Did you have to go and murder me with that comment “news at eleven” ?!?!? Lmfao that shit had me rolling idk why
I was thinking the same thing, but you’re not wrong that although the all three might fit your wrist, you need to think about where the buckle falls. 😁
Still doesn’t change the metal buckle scratching surfaces
They just want some one new to show off there gadget too lol. There real friends n family are tired of hearing about em 😂
News at ten??
Sounds like a common sense issue and not an Apple problem.
Yeah hahaha, metal band is a killer, meanwhile dude is smashing apple watch ultra witha hammer and destroy his tabel "D
@itachisasku on their site it is stated next to every size of the band in mm your wrist max and minimum size for it
It’s not that difficult to measure your wrist!
piece of rope (anykind, even a shoelace) + centimeter (school line or smth eals) you should have this at home
I agree. Anything that requires a known size to fit properly, then surely that is down to the purchaser to first measure their wrist (very easily done) to get the correct size.
PSA: Here's a tip, buy your size.
Also, this watch was made for athletes and sports people… not youtubers using macbooks on a daily hahah also adventurers wouldnt mind a little scratch…
Umm, i don’t see the solution. Does buying my size would prevent scratch from that metal thingy?
@Seymour Buttz that goes for everything not just watches
To all women
@@SadfoxGuyver what?
When you buy a watch thats ment for adventures and youre scared of scratching it….
well it was pretty expensive
@@alimery07 that makes no sense it’s for adventures so you should keep it at home cause it’s too pricey? Lmfao gtfo here

@@_RJ_Z Ultra $799… Rolex $10,000 Not even comparable bro.
Who would guessed that buying the correct size makes it better
Dude never seen a watch on a steel bracelet. Buddy, it’s all metal.
A steel watch bracelet doesn’t hit into the watch so I don’t understand your point here
But, this is titanium. So, it scratches a lot more than regular steel.
@@sufyanm4661 His point is not about bracelet hitting the watch. It is about scratching the laptop.
@@sufyanm4661 but it sure as fuck hits into your Mac Book. Every watch I own has the clasp in the middle of the inside of my wrist. Not sure it's a "killer" though.
“Not only does it ruin your watch but it also ruins your wallet”
And your feelings.
🤣
Things are only expensive if you don’t have the money
Upgrade to a titanium band and scratch everything 😎
If you flip it to the other side.. the problem goes away. Like remove the band and rotate it 180 degrees (switch the connector end with the other side), you’re good.
Big brain move. Hopefully OP see's this.
Scratch my Watch
Scratch my MacBook
Scratch my Tesla
Scratch my marble bathtub
Some rich problems
Amen.
Me at 1AM watching a guy with wrong wrist sizes!
so what is the correct band for Samsung galaxy watch ⌚️
I’m late to this video but people in the comments don’t understand that the buckle is made of titanium just like the watch so it can scratch and gouge the watch face.
I really appreciate this video. You just saved me some time! I was about to return the large band because I thought the smaller or medium band would look better showing more of the little ripples but when I noticed what you said about it, scratching my laptop. That is a game changer. Thanks a bunch! Great video and thank you for saving me some scratches!
Thanks man 🤝
Our dude just discovered common sense 👏🏼 🎉
Unfortunately my wrist is too large for the Alpine loop because of these problems. I’ll have to try one of the other bands.
Does the Samsung Galaxy watch fit, per chance?
Buys the "Alpine" Loop and wonders why it is a problem in the office
Trail loop doesn't scratch my MacBook, my office is not a trail
@@PatrickRambleslol bet you typed that response while also wearing sunglasses indoors at night 😂😂😂
Why is that.
This Band also scratches the watch when it gets attached or detached.
I hate this band even on the right size. I still used the band from the regular Apple Watches. It’s easily the most comfortable band I’ve used .
So this is a non issue if you think before buying. Here’s the bigger issue that is actually a problem. The alpine loop is prone to failure. The g clip tears at the loops and causes damage to the band so despite this being a hundred dollar watch band, it’s not designed to last past a year. Some folks get good mileage out of it, other get unreasonable wear in 5 months.
Love my Apple Ultra, no issues with it.
Absolutely perfect information. I just had to order a larger size because of the exact same issues pointed out here. Get the correct size and you're good to go.
Avoid all day wedgies. Don’t wear your kids Y-fronts.
Great information you shared . Now I understood. Big mistake I bought medium size and I have a difficulties in wearing it in-out. Now have to be more careful.
Umm… you do know they case proctors for the watches right? 😅 bulky bands like this one pretty much require you to use a protector for this reason.
You not being alert to get your right size isn’t everyone’s problem, its yours.
It's titanium, yes it can scratch but it can also buff out: Titanium is a durable and low maintenance metal1. However, just like any other metal, titanium can get scratched or lose its luster1. Titanium naturally forms an oxide layer on the surface, which can scratch relatively easily2. The upside is that a quick touch up with a fiberglass pen makes surface scratches disappear2. If the titanium is a piece of jewelry, it can be exposed to a lot of wear and tear, and you should polish titanium pieces every now and then in order to restore the original metallic shine1. So not really too much to worry about in my opinion.
Only chicks are scared of scratching their jewelries !
2022 called, said you're an ape.
@@PatrickRambles 2023 called, said you’re a s’ut.
At $800 for Apple Watch and $1100 iPhone Pro Max VS $500 for Watch 6 Classic $1800 for Z Fold 5 are not bad deals at all for those in the market.
It's just that I believe that Samsung offers way more in value and user experience!
I have the opposite problem as you man lol, I've been sent L/XL bands on Ebay because they implied it was for the 44/45/49mm, but they didn't specify the size. Needless to say, the band wrapped ALL the way around my wrist. I am an athletic/skinny body type and always have my entire 40 years of living. I was born with super broad shoulders while being 5'10 (half of High School). I knew I was a Cornerback as soon as I learned how to play Football where I was needed haha. But ya, skinny wrists and fairly toned with amazing cardio for sure.
The watch has a titanium body and saphire crystal so those touches won't do anything to it
The clasp is titanium too. You bet it scratches.
I have to add a note or two as well… these newer bands are thinner and they seem to irritate the skin a bit due to a sharper thinner edge…. Also since the watch is heavier I have noticed if you don’t have it tight enough it moves around more and causes the above irritation, along with wrist fatigue!! Too tight and it cuts off your circulation and sensors don’t work correctly. Ha ha, it’s fine line of finesse 😜😎
I chose to go with the medium because of my weight fluctuations. If I had gone with a large size then whenever I dropped a considerable amount of weight then the large would be too big and I wouldn’t be able to attach the g-hook into the loop.
Yeah i noticed it when i took out the band i was worried hahaha i think i will buy a different one 👍 thanks for the info 👏
PSA the only Ultras we get at our cell store come with small bands. It’s freaking dumb.
I’ve seen a couple of these videos now and have to admire that my Orange Alpine band fits like the one here. I have to work to get it on and off. With that being said, I bought mine when I bought my watch, both when they were first available in the Apple Store. I’ve yet to get my first scratch of any kind on my watch from the band or anything else, and I wear it exclusively everyday, even in the gym.
Dose the hook hit the watch face when pulling off or putting on
@@richy7346 mine doesn’t. If you’re worried about scratching or denting your Ultra, all I can say is, I’m extremely clumsy and hit mine on something multiple times a day, at home, while I’m out, and even on equipment at the gym. I don’t have a single scratch, nick, or dent ANYWHERE on this watch! Pretty damn amazing! If you want it, just get it! I think you’ll love it. Also, I bought a Gold stainless series 8 at the same time I bought my Ultra. Thinking The series 8 would be for dress up. Well, I found a metal band that matches my Ultra and have yet to unbox my series 8! I wear my Ultra exclusively!
So wouldn’t a metal watch clasp of any kind damage your laptop in that case?
Protip: buy silicone bands or belt-like bands without metal on them.
Thanks for the heads up!
I have 8” wrists and just checked for damage and it is present but not terrible. There isn’t a larger strap for me.
A medium will fit most wrist as I have a medium , it don’t matter where the buckle part is as long as the fit is good.
I have this issue with my metal Apple Watch band with the links in it. Whole thing is metal so it will just always scratch. Definitely not an “at the computer” type of band
Your "tip" was to buy the correct size band? That's a tip? lol...am I supposed to buy shoes that fit too?
Sounds like a good idea. That one was on the house ;)
Never thought of my ultra scratching my laptop. Good tip
Wow this was helpful dude thank u!! A lot of people would have to find out the scratchy way😢
Great video! I love the metal hook as well as it plays with the rock climbing gear style. But, if you are at the office typing, it will mess up your laptop/desk and the watch.
Thanks, Fernando!
I bought the large one but it’s still on the inside of my wrist and hits the table MacBook and everything else 🤷🏼♂️😅
And that’s only when you are indoors. Just think of what it might do to environment if you wore it outside. 🤔
I hve the largest alpine band. Still hard to get my hand through. Good thing abt the titanium bucket hitting the watch it doesn’t scratch. It is after all a rugged watch.
Mine hits the face too😢 n I feel like it will scratch
Wireless providers don’t always offer a choice in bands, mine shipped with a medium and I had to send it back and get a large from Apple.
I’ve never seen a bigger roast session in my life 😂😂😂😂😂
Keeping this video alive - can't lose ;)
It's a titanium buckle, that's why. I got the large to make sure it didn't scratch my computer.
MBPs are anodized aluminum, they are EXTREMELY difficult to scratch, the DLC bands like the black stainless steel link will scratch a macbook, but your alpine loop isn't going to.
I challenge you to pick one up and give it a try ;)
I’m NGL, I’m feeling pretty good about my choice of the larger loop now. I hadn’t considered that because it was a loop style, it would need to be large enough to fit my hand through, I just didn’t want to risk a medium being potentially too tight, the process of taking it off hadn’t crossed my mind 😅 plus the buckle doesn’t catch anything either.
My Link bracelet never left a mark on my 2015 MacBook Pro over 6 years of use. You are making a big deal about nothing.
This isn't your link bracelet ;)
@@PatrickRambles I have both, its the same chicken little
I have the medium/large band and the hook is on the bottom because anywhere else and it would be too tight…
Same here it’s a good fit
Don’t worry about scratches that much, it’s got a sapphire screen and a titanium shell, the aluminum watch buckle won’t scratch either of those
No it doesn’t , look at that mohs scale of hardness
the best part is good luck getting someone at apple to be able to exchange for a different size band without having to buy a whole new watch
Yeah you can exchange it, but since it is serialized to the whole Apple Watch purchase instead of a separate band purchase, you have to bring all of the packaging and charging puck back, then they will exchange it for the same watch but the bigger band size. What a waist of time and resources. And you’ve just got 14 days to makes that decision and find time.
@@AmpdLSU And I got mine on launch day so they said they didn't even have one I could exchange. I would have thought they sorted this sorta thing out with the fitted bands coming out a couple years ago. Too bad...I ended up with a trail loop.
@@wplantz I got the orange and black trail band in the end. It was the most comfortable and light. But it’s gotten stained dirty so quickly.
I do like it in the end but something that doesn’t get as dirty as easy or wear out or wear in like the sine of the fitted choices
One year later, my alpine loop failed. Apple took FOREVER to try and get me a replacement. It never came.
So if you got large wrists don’t buy a small size, got it.
As durable as the watch is I’m sure it won’t break this thing . I seen the review where the guy kept throwing this thing and testing it and it wouldn’t die . The screen underneath broke and the outer shell wouldn’t die
Love this video! I just bought a knock-off rugged loop band for the 🍎⌚️ultra band off Amazon and I was very intentional about finding the right band size in millimeters but didn’t think to consider the band length. This explains my quest for answers which led me to this video. Having a very skinny wrist the first thing I noticed was all the loops disappear when I strap the Watch tight. At first I thought I must have applied it backwards but the issue is clear, the band is too big (long)! Thanks bro
If you really are that concerned with damaging a watch don’t get one lol. This watch is literally designed to survive the wilderness. Constant banging by your accidental movements is nearly harmless
Mine comes tomorrow! Glad I got the large!
Exciting! The watch is awesome.
thank you very much for such notice, that's truly effective and realistic , its the same status with whatever third party bands you might have, I had my MacBook scratched!
Be aware everyone, don't believe sellers who sometimes say nonsense like all sizes are the same, I have faced some of them here in Gulf area especially Indians !!
I saw it on a Apple Reseller .. and you are right. Bought them with the right size 🙏
This watch is literally built for iron man tournaments where the watch is bound to get knocked up. Pretty sure the buckle rubbing it won’t do much harm 😂
I use a scaffolding technique. Basically, when I unhook the g-hook, I will plug it back into the highest point when I pull to create slack. This keeps it from popping into the case. But yeah, the Alpine looks great but it's a bit of a hassle IRL. The velcro sport straps work just fine 4 me
That's exactly what I ended up doing 😅. Anyway, wearing the ocean band 90% of the time now.
Phew.. I was on my way to intentionally buy the wrong size band, glad I watched this video.
I'm here to serve 😂
Saved me $800. Thanks! 👍
Apple unfortunately doesn’t sell an XL watch band. I always have to buy an aftermarket one.
Can confirm, MacBook Pro is scratched super deep from this band.
Ocean band 💯
These are practical tips. Thank you sir
Alpine design is a disaster if you hope to leave your watch on while computer typing - ugh
good idea for a band, but it gets super dirty and there's no way to clean it.
This wasn't even a tip. Everyone knows, regardless of what watch one owns, to purchase the correct size band. #Groundbreaking
how i wish i saw this video 2 weeks ago. 100% agree. got rid of the stupid alpine loop because it doesnt feel good to wear the whole day. should have gone straight to the trail loop.
My bro got me one for Christmas with this band, luckily he got the right size
I didnt even think about the hook hitting the laptop. That’s the difference between buying bands from Apple vs. Amazon.
Why do you wear it right on the wrist joint? Should wear a watch above the joint, maybe then it wouldn’t ride on your laptop.
This is why whenever I’ve had an Apple Watch I’ve only used the band that came with it and nothing else
An easy way to prevent the G Hook slamming into the watch, is by opening it to its largest diameter, then push the G Hook into the loop that makes the Alpine Loop its largest diameter. You are then able to take the watch off and also put it back on, without the G Hook hitting the watch.
Wish I can get a video 😊
@@richy7346 Not sure what you mean?
@@TallysVids I said I wish I can get a video of what you just explained
@@richy7346 Right I see. Basically undo the G Hook, and then pull the G Hook part of the strap through (basically as you would do to make the strap a looser fit). The loops that you push the G Hook into, choose one that makes the strap the loosest and then insert the G Hook into that loop. You are then able to slide the Apple Watch over your hand to remove it, and as the G Hook is in a loop, there is no chance that the G Hook can slam back into the watch. Hope that clarifies what I said a bit.
@@TallysVids thanks
I totally agree with you, it’s a blunder to buy Alpine band, it’s destroying laptop keypad!!😩
What happened to genus apple designers!!
Reminder 😂 when order the watch it will ask what’s your risk size and measurements lol
My wrist size is 8cm, so it won't bother me much!
Even the edge you attach to the watch is made of titanium. It was painful to hear it screach when i slid it on. I just took it off and use my old silicone band
I have the Ultra 2 with the blue ocean band and it perfectly fits me.
Sounds like James Bond wants his weapon watch back
Move your watch the unmacho way below your wrist bone and you won't have the problem of getting in the way of things. It also make bending your wrist easier. Try it.
Yeah that's a swell idea, but the shape of my wrist doesn't allow it. It won't stay there.
@@PatrickRambles Oh, okay
But why are you using the band backwards?
The buckle should be at the bottom. That’s how watches are worn. It would look weird otherwise. Mine is almost perfectly centered under my wrist. Haven’t scratched my watch with the buckle or my MacBook Pro. Geez. So I wonder what people do that wear regular timepieces. Do they blame the watch makers that it rests on their MacBook??
I didn't know it came in different sizes. I can't even put on mine now, too small to go over hand
Looks like a customer mistake 😂
No it’s a shitty product
IMHO all the fabric bands kind of suck, and paying $100 for them is nuts. They hold sweat and skin oils so imagine what’s growing on them after a while. And they make a $900 watch look cheap. Just my opinion.
I thought they were supposed to be strong, why would dinging it slightly with your band be an issue
Who woulda thought i guess this could help me with buying clothes too
Be sure not to waste $100 on one from Apple too! I have both a real one that came with the watch and a rep that’s in a color way that never existed. The rep is more comfortable and more unique, oh and it cost $3 on Temu. I already gave Apple $800 for the Watch Ultra, they don’t deserve $100 for a cloth strap
Trail loops are better as they don’t have the metal buckle. Also I don’t think there is any danger of scratching the watch with the band as the Ultras are pretty much indestructible especially the sapphire crystal screen.
Alpine loop looks better, trail loop is more practical.
Oh no it scratches your MacBook. Wait weren’t these made for extreme outdoorspeople? 😂 I knew as soon as I saw this, nobody would ever be using this watch for the reason it exists.
