You are right. In languages such as German (freitag), English (friday) and others the word comes from the goddess Freya. But she is commonly associated with Venus. This is why in French (my native language) we say vendredi, in Spanish viernes and in Italian venerdi. The question being about the English word, Freya is the logical reference. This being said, thank you to Mr Quizster whose quizzes I really enjoy watching.

9/10 got the bonus! Yeah, this was easier than most! (Three blind mice is not allowed to be played in NHL stadiums during the game. 3 refs!)
I remember singing/yelling it at games back in the 70"s. Haven't heard it at a game in forever, but the way the refereeing has been this season, I'm surprised it hasn't made a resurgence.

10/10 of course. The Canadian pronunciation of Thursday sounds a lot like Tuesday! 😉 I've never known how the farmer's wife reached their tails from that stool I always imagine her standing on. Perhaps I've seen too much Tom and Jerry.

I got 9 out of 10. I didn't know the question about which day of the week is named after those goddesses, but I also got confused when you said "Tuesday" while Thursday was the choice on the screen.
Hearing you say something different than the visual choice just messed up my concentration for a moment.

LOL! Nice way to back up your reason why you didn’t get a perfect score. I actually got 9 out of 10 also, but, I got the day of week question right even though I had to go back and check if I actually heard Tuesday instead of Thursday, and I’m glad someone else noticed that too.

But no worries, 90% is insanely high for me on one of his general knowledge quizzes, so I am very happy with that score.
I usually average 30%-50% on his general knowledge ones.
The only time I regularly score 90%-100% are on movie themed quizzes, especially the 1980's and 90's. Those are my strongest areas by far.

Alright! 🎉 9 out of 10 right plus the bonus! Missed the Buddy Holly question. You could use the 4th choice “Katydid” in question #2 in a music quiz sometime in a question about Steely Dan since they had an album by that title. Good quiz today, I almost aced it.

Finally I got all ten. I am 76 yrs young and have been improving for several months but I have never gotten a 10 out of 10
7/10 and couldn't remember the darn nursery rhyme.
I got 8 right, including the bonus. I missed #3 & #4

Threw me off for a moment on #8 when you said Tuesday but the text said Thursday but, since it wasn't the correct answer (which I couldn't guess), it didn't matter.

Friday is named after the norse goddess Frigg. There's an association between that goddess and venus, but that wasn't the question. Good videos though!
I guessed he meant named after the Norse equivalent or named after those goddesses in other languages.
The Norse Goddess Freya is what Friday is named after not Venus.
Now that you've said it, seems obvious... In romance languages the word for Friday does indeed come from the goddess Venus/Venera - Venerdi, Vendredi, Viernes, Vineri.

Power was on when he woke up. He said a place about 40 miles from him was hit badly. But he and his furry friends are OK. His communications are hit and miss due to his phone not getting notifications etc. Take care Linda, stay safe. 😀💕
@@raindancer6111 Thanks Rain, I heard from him about shortly after I wrote to you. He was very. That area he is talking about is devastated. Those tornadoes hit 6 states. So sad, so many people died and more were injured. Our sun was out today, so I was out in the yard getting to dead weeds and shoveling dirt from the gophers. I thought I was rid of them, but they only moved. I saw there new home. But, I also saw the cats taking up residence close by watching the holes. 🤞 Hoping they find their catch. Take care and keep warm. 😀💕
