Terrible engines from my own personal experience of them…..issue after issue …especially with the 4.4. The supercharged petrol would have been better on economy🙄
Do all the power upgrades work on the 150tdi version we get in Australia? It's the lower output 3lt diesel engine. 150kw & 400nm. Would the power gains be the same?
In the USA here, I want a Touareg (tdi) so much! Need help to decide best odds to last longest regardless of trim. 2010 Cata engine? 2012 Cata or 2014 Cnrb. I am not mechanically inclined.. yet. Oh & leaning towards most fuel mileage setup Does a 2010 have cp3 or cp4? I plan on either buying disaster kit or If I can find the whole cp3 pump kit to buy Any answers appreciated!
All of the above will have a CP4. The pump on the CNRB is bigger but also at the back of the engine and we do not have a CP3 kit for this. Both CATA engines should be the same and pretty much the same as the CASA in this video. This has 160,000 now and no issues. I would expect an EGR leak on any of them at some point, it seems to be one of the most common issues for them
In this instance id say its not worth the cost for it all buying and fitting and mapping for so small gains. Ideally youd fit a bitter turbo first but you do all the trial and error so we dont have to 👍
If we were going for all out power we would have gone straight for the big turbo but you'd lose some bottom end. For this car getting used off road it was better to keep the low end grunt.
Amazing seeing how much work goes into the tuning of these vehicles.
Great video! I enjoy the behind the scenes R&D styling of this video!! Keep it up
I absolutely love them what puts off is the timing chain issues
This has 160k and no issues
Those v6s sound awesome
The best sounding 6 cylinder diesel❤
Happy days ,cheers chaps 👍
It would be better, if you show the car from outside while running as well as instrument cluster. So we can get an idea how fast the car is….
If we had a private runway we certainly would, but we don't want to get caught doing 65 in a 60 zone 👀
i love your work but i think for alot of us its saad that you didn do anything with an l322 3.6 or 4.4 TDV8
We stick to what we know best, no point spreading ourselves thin and being average at everything

Drop us an email to sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk with your VIN number and we can check part numbers for you plus estimated figures
May I ask why you don't do the EGR delete while you're in there? Or do you think the EGR has any positive benefits to the enige performance?
It would make sense if permitted in your country but these earlier 3.0 TDIs don't suffer as bad with leaking EGR coolers
Is it possible to upgrade from a CP1H3 to an CP3? What do you guys think of the CP1H3? Super fookin interesting video as always!
It is, they are OK but CP3 is better
Belle vidéo 👌 😉
How do you guys find the 8 speed boxes out on interest? Most owners I speak to find 2nd to 3rd gear has a lag, almost feels like gear slip?
They are decent, not a ZF8 but you don't notice the slip too badly in a bus like this.
How much to get this power on my 2015 touareg? Need to get this booked in!
Drop us an email, slightly different upgrade path on the 15 models but still achievable - sales@darksidedevelopments.co.uk

Why not straight pipe it and save a few bucks?
