With Rice gone Soucek can start playing to his strengths again. He loves this club and we should stick by him. He isnt the most technically gifted footballer but he gives it his all. That's the West Ham Way isnt it?

Truly puzzles me why this man gets the stick he does from some parts of our fanbase. Ok, not the most technically gifted, but he’s been a massive part of why we’ve enjoyed a bit of success the last few seasons. He’d run through brick walls for this club and that’s the most important thing I look for in any player who plays for WHU.
problem is, without his goals he is a very average footballer. He limits us. If we want to progress we need someone better all round.
Honestly mate go check his stats last season and you will understand that the player we first bought is not the player we have presently. It’s shocking reading. If he has another season like last year then he has to go.
@@adamnichols26 That's not true. He's got excellent work rate and is very good defending the box as well. He lacks first touch and passing, but if you play him alongside two good passers, that could be mitigated. He worked a lot better when Rice was a proper CDM and he was running late into the box.
@@adamnichols26e’s not an average footballer at the top level. He’s well below average. On the ball he’s one of the worst midfielders in the top 5 leagues in Europe. His underlying stats are abysmal.

Yes, Tomas has endured a significant dip in form (especially concerning his goal return) since that first year and a half, but I love the guy. He's a workhorse, a team player, a genuinely nice guy, and a throwback. Don't get me wrong, there are times when I feel he hasn't warranted a starting place, but the criticism for that should NEVER be levelled at the Player. When he puts on the shirt, I support him. Yes, he can frustrate me, but he's also given me some wonderful moments and I am thankful for that. I hope that this year, with the loss of Declan, he can step up to the plate and be the player that put fear into defences in his first period in the Premier League. Potato salads all round! COYI!
Gets used as a scapegoat and gets slated because he doesn’t score goals as much as when he joined… he’s role changed since last couple of seasons, but he’s an Ariel threat has great passion runs and plays his heart out for this club and I love that czech bastard 🫶⚒️
He gets used as a scape goat because he loses the ball everytime its at his feet, makes less than a dozen passes a game, his goals have dried up and he literally runs around all game not knowing what to do.

Im life fan of Slavia Prague. Tomas Soucek or Suk as we call him is one the best players in Slavia history. His way from being unwanted in 2nd league,coaches didnt like hi at trials,yet with his heart he made it to world best football league.

Played out of position so we could get Rice's value up. Hope we sign a CDM who's going to be happy sitting back and allow Soucek to get in the box.
This is bang on. Need someone to stay back to give him freedom again. Some of these goals rice wouldn’t even score
He didn't play out of position though. If you look at their average positions on the pitch Soucek was still more advanced than Rice the majority of the time. The issue is his aerial ability has declined massively and so has our set piece ability so now we see him for he really is. He can't pass a ball and just runs around hopelessly. It's a shame what's happened but it is what it is. We need an upgrade.

He is good enough if given the freedom to go box to box. Last season Rice was allowed to get forward more, which meant Soucek had to stay back.
@beatonthedonis4726 everyone says that but he's been ineffective in the opposition box for a while now. When we have possession it's like playing with 10 men because he can't pass.

He's a real menace in the opposition's box when we get a corner or free-kick AND he's also very helpful in our own box defending set-pieces too

@@danjackson3725 I agree to be fair I'm one of the first sighing when I see him on the team sheet last season. I was just referring to the great positions he got into to get the goals he did. But yeah last season and few months of the season before left me cringing and raging at the tv with his poor passing and close control but with Moyes staying and him being an undroppable I do hope he at least goes back to being a problem in the opposition box
