(Director did an amazing job instead of always having a happy ending, showed us the reality of history)😭🫡
She created this problem with lies and self serving righteousness that ended killing everyone that she loved. Child it's so many things she did that was wrong that started this ball of mess to turning. She was not an honest person and because she was stubborn and impulsive she deserved her ending. Every character she plays has this attitude.
Of all the tragic ending that I watched, this is the best tragic ending I've ever seen this is the only way this drama will end. I admired all the actors znd actresses who are in this drama.
Always having happy ending? There is no such thing in Chinese dramas. And even the supposedly happy endings are quite bland. The stories are nice but they don't seem to know how to end dramas.

There are other versions of this specific era in history with different endings. The King of Qin that united China into one country really did an outstanding job to unify China, but sacrificed so much, too. He is portaryed as a mad king, a tyrant, etc. in this version.

Now imagine how many skilled people it takes to create an actual size throne room take the footage of one scene with so many different angles and an actual sword stabbing and dying scene where the sword needs to come out of the actress without actually harming her. True From the beginning when she searched for her, he already used a drastic method. Then she imprisoned her in the palace as her possession- not true love. Eventually killing her with his own hand... real love is offering your life for her, not killing her...
I have watched all 48 parts of this series. The actors in this are the best that I have ever seen. Because of their excellent portrayal in each scene, I laughed when it was happy and was brought to tears in the sad scenes many times. Thank you for bringing this to youtube, there are no good movies in America any more.

A very exciting and amazing story. Full of learnings and life's realization. This story happens in everday life. The writers diectors the team productions are splendid. Wow! I really admire Zhang BinBin's acting very emotional besides being very cute expressive eyes. The 2 boys and the 2 girls are really awsome. Is this really true story? Bullying and bad experiences on chilhood really have a great effect on a person. I pity the king who is devoid of love and affection. Trust versus mistrust. Thank you. Loved the story and can understand the philosophy behind the ending, but I still wish it had a happy ending where he couldn’t kill her either. Took almost a whole box of tissues to get through all the episodes, especially the last two. I am now addicted to these shows, please do more with happier endings.

Binbin is a skillful actor. I watched it because of him. Such a complex character!ruthless cold blooded manipulative king perfectly played by Zhang Binbin. King is obsessed with Li er, he doesn't love her. He is possessive, obsessive, jealous, unkind, brutal towards her. Though she never cheated on him nor she is disloyal but he never trusts her. Maybe because he is not a trustworthy person that's why he doesn't trust anyone. Not even Li er.on the other hand Li er is so devoted towards him. She believes his lies about peace and prosperity. She is good that's why she sees good in others. No matter how much dark the king is, she sees light in him. So much contrast in both characters! I ❤this drama. There is no way it could be a happy ending!! The king is an evil maniac. He doesn't deserve a happy ending...jin ke is also a selfish egoistic character. Han shen is a balance character.he is brave, selfless. He is best for Li er. They should have kept him alive. I feel sorry for him.

this is the second Asian historical drama series that really caught my attention after the great queen seondeok in 2010. It's definitely worth a watch!!! I really appreciate that the author of the story goes to the very sad and heartbreaking end as it should be and known in history and not for the fuss of high ratings. Moreover, this drama raises awareness of the danger of untreated PTSD, which can cause even more unthinkable damage when the victim holds such immense power, as in the case of an unbearable childhood trauma suffered by the king himself. Unfortunately, this kind of knowledge was still unknown in 238 BC. Also, I have the utmost respect for Zhang bin bin, who perfectly interpreted his role as the tyrant king at the age of 24! He has such charisma that I can't even take my eyes off his every move during this show. I can feel his immense hatred, distrust, deep pain and abandonment just through his eyes, facial expression and voice. Without wishing to be unkind, I really hope that one day he can play the role of another notorious figure like Jenghiz Khan. I can't wait to see how he wows us with his great talent for this complex character.

Upon reaching the pinnacle of his swordsmanship, he succumbed to the seductive allure of power, forsaking his humanity in the process. His callous treatment of Li Er, upon suspecting her of bearing the king's child, exposed the superficiality of his love. Every move he made seemed to be driven solely by personal gain, contrasting sharply with the genuine and selfless affection displayed by Han Shen. However, Li Er is not without fault. Despite her marriage to the king, she entangles herself in her ex-lover's affairs, fully aware of the king's adoration and jealousy. Persistently testing the king's patience by engaging with her past only serves to exacerbate tensions. Considering the societal norms of the era, especially the expectations placed upon royal consorts, her actions were deemed unacceptable. The king's considerable leniency towards Li Er, including accepting her child from another man, could be interpreted as an act of love rather than mere control. They actually loved each other. His jealousy, insecurity and rage ruined everything, his one chance at happiness. PS: it's clear that he has PTSD due to his traumatized childhood. And he was ready for them to kill each other, to die at her side. Lol. Jing Ke probably was thinking that he should not have saved that young boy when they were still a kid. That young boy took everything from him and grew up to be a "monster".

Then she saves his life 2times after she forces to marriage him. That is no excuses to kills just because of your traumatized childhood!!! @SCL111 PTSD is a ton of flashbacks and reliving the scene, which he doesn't. He coldly blocks it out and moves on in seconds. I think you mean Sociopath, maybe with a personality disorder chucked on top.
Here for Dilraba, doesn't matter how many times I rewatch this drama, my heart aches for Han Shen not able to end up with Li Er, he was the only male protagonist that truly had Li Er in his heart with no excuses.
The story was totally amazing specially the chemistry of king and li and even all the other characters were amazing specially Han Shen who reflected the protagonism in the whole play .... I am really going to miss this but really want Zhang bin and dilraba in another story...

IMO, Dilraba is a great performer. She acts, emotes, sword fights, martial arts, etc. Huge body of work in about 8 years. The betrayal of Qing'Er may have been the last straw. Ok, on to The Flame's Daughter! ❤

Anyone remember the story of Scarlet Hearts Ryo? The 4th and the 7th prince got involved with the same woman and later impregnated by the 4th prince who became a king and been left alone too? The woman also died in that era. I had watched the Korean version. This A King's Woman has a bit of touch of that drama. I Think this is one of the rarest best costume drama that I have seen considering it's Vince Zhang and Dilraba Dilmurat's team up. Quite engaging
This king was still blinded by his delusional emotions. He could have used other approaches to get what he wanted but then, life is usually like this, after WW2 did we in the present day world reflect on our misdeeds. Now most of the people who didn't experience it are pushing for war. This movie is truly a master piece. I commend actors and background personnelsvwho were able to bring this movie to life.🎉👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🎉
The ending is so sad but I'm not gonna lie and say I had to use the whole box of tissues to wipe my flowing tears because there were none. I feel so sad that Li Er had to die at the hands of the man she loved but the truth is that she shouldn't have told him that she wanted him dead, that alone was enough to make the king doubt her love for him. She knows the kind of person he is but she still pushed his buttons. I've seen a lot of sad endings but this is the only drama that I feel like everything could've been avoided. I loved the king and his goal to reunite the world was the best, it is just sad that in the end, he had to lose the people he loved because he couldn't trust anyone and now that I think about it, I think he also doubted himself at least two or three times a day. I think the only reason I can't feel sad for Jing Ke's death is that I hate people who can't accept that some things are just not meant to be. He loved Li Er but he isn't the first person to lose someone he loves. Han Shen also loved Li Er, he loved her more than the two of them (The king & Jing Ke) but he didn't linger around because he saw that he didn't have a chance. Great drama btw. I think u r right I don't see why Li Er could not move on yet she gave Jang ke a chance but he refused to take it not once but twice, yet she eventually found a man who loved and even accepted her illegitimate child. Secondly the King and her had a deal which she accepted.So the King was not a home wrecker there was no home to wreck in the first place n now that Jing ke had a chance to do those greater things which made him reject Li, why again was he wasting time wrecking the King's home? I only feel sorry for the King who grew up with a crezy family making him doubt everyone including himself n a lover who kept telling him that she wanted him dead.... don't blame him for eventually believing her!
I think the issue is after everything they had been through he still DIDNT trust her. You think the feelings they had would have showed exactly how she felt about him. So even if she said “Ill kill you” he should have knew she wasnt serious. He had serious issues with trust and it cost him a lot. Dont get me wrong he was a king but you would think he would have slowly gained trust in the relationship they had. She saved him MANY times.

This was really excellent. It leaves one with a heavy heart and longing for a better ending. But truth be told a good ruler is whom who understands his subordinates. It's also goes to show that how one's choices are far more important that the past and future. What you choose today is what makes you tomorrow and what had been you yesterday. The king of Qin experienced Trauma at a young age. Trauma caused by conflict and war. He was unable to protect his loved ones which led to his wish and goal. Though he is right that by uniting the world there will be peace he has chosen sacrifice to reach his goal instead of an agreement between the states to work together as one. Vin Zhang's acting was exceptional. Acting such a complex character difficult but he did it perfectly. Thank you to all the main actors they were also exceptional and understood the characters well. Thank you to all involved in creation of this drama. Thank you to the director and writer for executing such a thought provoking drama. This is truly one of the best literally work I have known. Faced with may themes and lessons. I have learned a lot. Thank you all the way from South Africa.

This can't be called true love. But Han Shen love towards her is true love. He lived his life for her and ended his life for her. really in this drama Han Shen is the hero. Kings acting is really so nice. Lan er is also so lovily character. Over all this drama has mixture of emotions.

It's really difficult to be a King. Traitors surrounds every nook. Affiliations either by blood nor by marriage gain no TRUST. Greed of POWER is the most. Thus denotes the trivia of the ending. Hayyy....so tragic.
In the end, the king is the evilest character. Li Er's servant did what the king asked her to do and did not follow Li Er's request to do, instead the servant put a deadly poison on Jeng Ki's drink, and she gave Li Er tea with something that knocked her out. It's a very sad ending.

The saddest truth is event for the good king, you must taking care first of your nation rather than your personal stuff. Including your love life, family and friends. It is unlikely a love story of disney princess that everything will ended up with happy ending before and after. the real life of kingdom or queen and king story will be likely similar of Game of throne series.

She created this problem with lies and self serving righteousness that ended killing everyone that she loved. Child it's so many things she did that was wrong that started this ball of mess to turning. She was not an honest person and because she was stubborn and impulsive she deserved her ending. Every character she plays has this attitude.
Of all the tragic ending that I watched, this is the best tragic ending I've ever seen this is the only way this drama will end. I admired all the actors znd actresses who are in this drama.
Always having happy ending? There is no such thing in Chinese dramas. And even the supposedly happy endings are quite bland. The stories are nice but they don't seem to know how to end dramas.

There are other versions of this specific era in history with different endings. The King of Qin that united China into one country really did an outstanding job to unify China, but sacrificed so much, too. He is portaryed as a mad king, a tyrant, etc. in this version.

Now imagine how many skilled people it takes to create an actual size throne room take the footage of one scene with so many different angles and an actual sword stabbing and dying scene where the sword needs to come out of the actress without actually harming her. I have watched all 48 parts of this series. The actors in this are the best that I have ever seen. Because of their excellent portrayal in each scene, I laughed when it was happy and was brought to tears in the sad scenes many times. Thank you for bringing this to youtube, there are no good movies in America any more.

I really admire Zhang BinBin's acting very emotional besides being very cute expressive eyes. The 2 boys and the 2 girls are really awsome. Is this really true story? Bullying and bad experiences on chilhood really have a great effect on a person. I pity the king who is devoid of love and affection. Trust versus mistrust. Thank you. My 3rd time watching this drama. Love it!
Loved the story and can understand the philosophy behind the ending, but I still wish it had a happy ending where he couldn’t kill her either. Took almost a whole box of tissues to get through all the episodes, especially the last two. I am now addicted to these shows, please do more with happier endings.

Binbin is a skillful actor. I watched it because of him. Such a complex character!ruthless cold blooded manipulative king perfectly played by Zhang Binbin.
King is obsessed with Li er, he doesn't love her. He is possessive, obsessive, jealous, unkind, brutal towards her. Though she never cheated on him nor she is disloyal but he never trusts her. Maybe because he is not a trustworthy person that's why he doesn't trust anyone. Not even Li er.on the other hand Li er is so devoted towards him. She believes his lies about peace and prosperity. She is good that's why she sees good in others. No matter how much dark the king is, she sees light in him. So much contrast in both characters!

Came for Zhang Binbin and was not disappointed. Such a dramatic story, all the scenarios, costumes, choreographies are magnificent.
this is the second Asian historical drama series that really caught my attention after the great queen seondeok in 2010. It's definitely worth a watch!!! I really appreciate that the author of the story goes to the very sad and heartbreaking end as it should be and known in history and not for the fuss of high ratings.
Moreover, this drama raises awareness of the danger of untreated PTSD, which can cause even more unthinkable damage when the victim holds such immense power, as in the case of an unbearable childhood trauma suffered by the king himself. Unfortunately, this kind of knowledge was still unknown in 238 BC.
Also, I have the utmost respect for Zhang bin bin, who perfectly interpreted his role as the tyrant king at the age of 24! He has such charisma that I can't even take my eyes off his every move during this show. I can feel his immense hatred, distrust, deep pain and abandonment just through his eyes, facial expression and voice. Without wishing to be unkind, I really hope that one day he can play the role of another notorious figure like Jenghiz Khan. I can't wait to see how he wows us with his great talent for this complex character.

Jing Ke professed to champion the cause of the underprivileged, yet his actions revealed a deep-seated greed and lust for power. Upon reaching the pinnacle of his swordsmanship, he succumbed to the seductive allure of power, forsaking his humanity in the process. His callous treatment of Li Er, upon suspecting her of bearing the king's child, exposed the superficiality of his love. Every move he made seemed to be driven solely by personal gain, contrasting sharply with the genuine and selfless affection displayed by Han Shen.
However, Li Er is not without fault. Despite her marriage to the king, she entangles herself in her ex-lover's affairs, fully aware of the king's adoration and jealousy. Persistently testing the king's patience by engaging with her past only serves to exacerbate tensions. Considering the societal norms of the era, especially the expectations placed upon royal consorts, her actions were deemed unacceptable. The king's considerable leniency towards Li Er, including accepting her child from another man, could be interpreted as an act of love rather than mere control. Conversely, Jing Ke's reaction upon discovering Li Er's child highlights his abandonment of her, disregarding her sacrifice to save his life.
It appears Li Er may have exploited the king's affection, as evidenced by her reluctance to depart even when granted freedom. They actually loved each other. His jealousy, insecurity and rage ruined everything, his one chance at happiness. PS: it's clear that he has PTSD due to his traumatized childhood. And he was ready for them to kill each other, to die at her side. Lol. Jing Ke probably was thinking that he should not have saved that young boy when they were still a kid. That young boy took everything from him and grew up to be a "monster".
YUP!!! it was Li Er mistake who save his life twice as child. Then she saves his life again at the restaurant when first meet he is the King. Then she saves his life 2times after she forces to marriage him. That is no excuses to kills just because of your traumatized childhood!!! You been through bad times, you should know how suffering it was!!!! You should not do the same to others if you are compassionate!!! He has no Wisdom, that's why he put all anger into revenge!!!

Here for Dilraba, doesn't matter how many times I rewatch this drama, my heart aches for Han Shen not able to end up with Li Er, he was the only male protagonist that truly had Li Er in his heart with no excuses.
The story was totally amazing specially the chemistry of king and li and even all the other characters were amazing specially Han Shen who reflected the protagonism in the whole play .... I am really going to miss this but really want Zhang bin and dilraba in another story...
The story can make's someone sad instead of entertainment.

IMO, Dilraba is a great performer. She acts, emotes, sword fights, martial arts, etc. Huge body of work in about 8 years. The betrayal of Qing'Er may have been the last straw. Ok, on to The Flame's Daughter! ❤

Anyone remember the story of Scarlet Hearts Ryo? The 4th and the 7th prince got involved with the same woman and later impregnated by the 4th prince who became a king and been left alone too? The woman also died in that era. I had watched the Korean version. This A King's Woman has a bit of touch of that drama. I Think this is one of the rarest best costume drama that I have seen considering it's Vince Zhang and Dilraba Dilmurat's team up. Quite engaging

This king was still blinded by his delusional emotions. He could have used other approaches to get what he wanted but then, life is usually like this, after WW2 did we in the present day world reflect on our misdeeds. Now most of the people who didn't experience it are pushing for war. This movie is truly a master piece. I commend actors and background personnelsvwho were able to bring this movie to life.🎉👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🎉

The ending is so sad but I'm not gonna lie and say I had to use the whole box of tissues to wipe my flowing tears because there were none. I feel so sad that Li Er had to die at the hands of the man she loved but the truth is that she shouldn't have told him that she wanted him dead, that alone was enough to make the king doubt her love for him. She knows the kind of person he is but she still pushed his buttons. I've seen a lot of sad endings but this is the only drama that I feel like everything could've been avoided. I loved the king and his goal to reunite the world was the best, it is just sad that in the end, he had to lose the people he loved because he couldn't trust anyone and now that I think about it, I think he also doubted himself at least two or three times a day. I think the only reason I can't feel sad for Jing Ke's death is that I hate people who can't accept that some things are just not meant to be. He loved Li Er but he isn't the first person to lose someone he loves. Han Shen also loved Li Er, he loved her more than the two of them (The king & Jing Ke) but he didn't linger around because he saw that he didn't have a chance. Great drama btw. Hats off to the cast and crew.

I think u r right I don't see why Li Er could not move on yet she gave Jang ke a chance but he refused to take it not once but twice, yet she eventually found a man who loved and even accepted her illegitimate child. Secondly the King and her had a deal which she accepted.So the King was not a home wrecker there was no home to wreck in the first place n now that Jing ke had a chance to do those greater things which made him reject Li, why again was he wasting time wrecking the King's home? I only feel sorry for the King who grew up with a crezy family making him doubt everyone including himself n a lover who kept telling him that she wanted him dead.... don't blame him for eventually believing her!
I think the issue is after everything they had been through he still DIDNT trust her. You think the feelings they had would have showed exactly how she felt about him. So even if she said “Ill kill you” he should have knew she wasnt serious. He had serious issues with trust and it cost him a lot. Dont get me wrong he was a king but you would think he would have slowly gained trust in the relationship they had. She saved him MANY times.

The king of Qin experienced Trauma at a young age. Trauma caused by conflict and war. He was unable to protect his loved ones which led to his wish and goal. Though he is right that by uniting the world there will be peace he has chosen sacrifice to reach his goal instead of an agreement between the states to work together as one. Vin Zhang's acting was exceptional. Acting such a complex character difficult but he did it perfectly. Thank you to all the main actors they were also exceptional and understood the characters well. Thank you to all involved in creation of this drama. Thank you to the director and writer for executing such a thought provoking drama. This is truly one of the best literally work I have known. Faced with may themes and lessons. I have learned a lot. Thank you all the way from South Africa.

In this drama i cried so much. This drama has very sort of emotions. If someone loved them truly they never want to hurt them. But here the king want every thing want he loves in any means. This can't be called true love. But Han Shen love towards her is true love. He lived his life for her and ended his life for her. really in this drama Han Shen is the hero. Kings acting is really so nice. Lan er is also so lovily character. Over all this drama has mixture of emotions.
So many of these stories have a heroine that suffers a tragic ending because her man eventually betrays her. In this case, he betrays her over and over. It was frustrating to see her be betrayed so many times

I was admiring the AWESOME performance of Zhang binbin,WOW you are excellent _the ruthless King of Qin. Started to watch this drama because of the two skilful actors Binbin &Dilraba I like their chemistry,the last words of Li er is really so emotional. Han sen, jing ke are all skilful actors
I watched this drama two times this drama show us the real meaning of love..The saddest end is this one 💔 Han Shen love for Li Er is really real one in this cruel world it's quite hard to find someone like him I really admire him ❤️💚

It's really difficult to be a King. Traitors surrounds every nook. Affiliations either by blood nor by marriage gain no TRUST. Greed of POWER is the most. Thus denotes the trivia of the ending. Hayyy....so tragic.

In the end, the king is the evilest character. Li Er's servant did what the king asked her to do and did not follow Li Er's request to do, instead the servant put a deadly poison on Jeng Ki's drink, and she gave Li Er tea with something that knocked her out. It's a very sad ending.

because if he get killed. the unification will never happened. Don't get me wrong that i also hate the way the king is so ruthless. The saddest truth is event for the good king, you must taking care first of your nation rather than your personal stuff. Including your love life, family and friends. It is unlikely a love story of disney princess that everything will ended up with happy ending before and after. the real life of kingdom or queen and king story will be likely similar of Game of throne series.
