I must say I thought your sweatshirt said “Don’t make your lack of ‘whiskey’ my problem”. I thought, wow! Katie’s got some sass after the RUclips short comments. (Referring to a story you posted)
This is a coincidence! I'm studying British literary history at the moment and today my professor talked about how, in the Romantic era, poetry was considered the height of fashion and the novel wasn't very well respected as an art form at the time, so most of the first novelists were women. Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Mary Wollstonecraft, and later her daughter Mary Shelley defined and revolutionized a genre where as many of the male poets of the time are no longer as widely popular.
Huge Johnny Cash fan here! He started out in the rockabilly genre which is like an early version of rock with country and rhythm and blues influences. R&B was/is big in Memphis and that’s where he got his start. But he did cross genres into country, gospel, rock, folk, etc. 😊
I audibly GASPED when you did the un molding & cut reveal! It is so spectacular! 😍 I love the name of it too! I could see the marbling technique being used for a black & white w/ gold, a drk green, & white w/ gold (like moss agate) I feel like theres so many color combos that would pair well w/ gemstones & marble soaps! Could there be a "Hard as a Rock" collection in our future!? I think so!!!!
Johnny Cash started with rockabilly with his first record and went to country for his second. But he crossed to other genres such as rock and roll, gospel, folk, and outlaw country. The top of this soap looks like Spode Blue dinner plate. So pretty!
Can i just say how grateful i am for this Royal Soap Community. Coming to the comment section isn't stressful, and i can look for Johnny Cash info-dumps/education moments with such wholesome and kind comments in between. I had no clue that he started in Rockabilly, and i find it fascinating. To answer the "when does music become old" question. I always feel like it's the decade before someone is born. I was born in the 80s, so to me, the 70s is old, and the 90s/00s is home, lol.
Ok, but, hear me out: Darcy is exactly a perfect example of written by a woman because he 1. Listened to criticism 2. Apologized for wrongdoings 3. Made right what he had made wrong 4. And gave Lizzie full control of the outcome of their relationship. He practiced and made himself into a better man for her without expecting anything from her in return. A dream. Side note, a purple version of this marbled with gold for february because i am a february baby would also be a dream haha.
I have watched almost every single video you've posted, and right up to the very moment, when dearest Katie slipped out how people were going to be pissed about the Johnny Cash thing, my mouth immediately flew open and I laughed out loud so hard and now this is officially my favorite video. Between the theme of last month and this month I am thoroughly enjoying these videos :) annnd now I really need to get those fragrance oils and check out that blend cause phew! That sounds delightful.
I love it! "I Hope You Dance" by Leanne Womack! Love that song. I'd choose singing too. We lived with my aunt for 6 mos between houses and my cousin told me that living with me, was like living in a barbie movie. 😂😂😂 I sing my words whenever I can. ❤
My dear Katie, I have watched nearly 99.9% of your soap videos. Love them to pieces, and I have purchased soap a time or two, and they have been wonderful. Can I just say that I would be happy to use this particular soap every day for the rest of my life, THATS HOW MUCH I approve. But will I? probably not since I do most of my soap shopping at discount prices. But every now and then I can splurge. thanks for the very fun, lover-ly video, enjoyed it immensely. RE: QOTD: definately sing (quietly), I would not be able to work night shift if I was dancing around for 12 hours on the dementia unit.
Katie! I'm touched that u used my husband as inspiration! LOL Love this soap! I was thinking "Katie May is showing her spunk in the new year with ur 'whiskey' shirt and saying 🙊 at the end!!", and loved it,! I think Conway,Patsy and that group is an oldie. If someone continues to have hits throughout their career, it disqualifies their oldie status and makes them current,ie. Johnny Cash,Cher, Dolly Parton,Rolling Stones, etc There's a lot of artists that've been famous for 20+ yrs that still release&/or perform. At this point in my life, I would l❤ve to sing or 💃, and would choose to do them BOTH at the same time!🎵🎶
Okay Katie, I don't always comment, but, I have to say, you & Caleb at the end was HYSTERICAL, and I absolutely LOVE the soap! GORGEOUS design dear! Thx for all the inspiration! 😍🥰❤
Firstly I love love loveeee this soap. The gold is so pretty! Secondly I would like to encourage an outlander inspired soap because I would buy every last bar lol
Caleb enters with a triumphant ‘I have a question of the day!’ I agree on the dancing, though both seem tiring. This biologist needs to be able to teach juniors in a whisper while not disturbing critters were observing. How else do I channel my inner Attenborough/Herzog? Dancing might help with the bears or rattlesnakes?
Love this soap!! I do miss when you would just talk about random things or your life while making the soaps and the longer ish videos ❤ I'd love it if you could do that again
Katie, I absolutely adore every soap bar you create and I think they're beautiful! I've been a fan of yours for such a long time and I never miss a video! I do have to say though I love your sweatshirt and I need to know where you got it and the one you had in the previous video because they are to die for!! Lots of love goes to you, Caleb and the rest of the family! 💖💖
Pasty Cline, Johnny Cash are legends of country music. Johnny did do a lot of cross overs and even acted. His wife was a singer as well. She came from one of the best country music family “The Caters”. Her name was June. Pasty died young and her best friend was Loretta Lynn. (Another great. She was crowned the Queen of country music after some time when it was okay to dub her that because the title belonged to Pasty. These two were very close and had their unique singing styles. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill where is the next generation. They were never in the same league as the above mentioned.
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder. Whenever one door opens I hope one more opens. I hope you still feel tall when you stand beside the ocean. Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance and when you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you Dance. Hope this isn't to much information but that was my shower song of the evening and then I watched this video! How cool or weird is that!
oh man katie, i've been watching for years but i'm not a bar soap type of person -- so i've never ordered before..... but you've really got my chokehold with this soap 😫✨ might be my first purchase.... if i can get there !!!
I think Johnny Cash is Folk/Country so you are both right. As far as I know 🤔 I used to have his greatest hits album on CD and I would listen to it on my SONY walkman. Pretty sure he also sings gospel, bluegrass, classic rock n roll, blues, rockabilly... and ballads? He was a multi talented man and I cried when he went. And then I still cry every time I hear his cover of Nine Inch Nail's 'Hurt'. "I Hope You Dance" is a huge throwback and I haven't heard it in yeaaarrrs. It was pop/country and I had to look up the artist because it was basically a one hit wonder situation since I don't know this woman 😂 Lee Ann Womack sang it, apparently.
I bought 4 bars of soap this summer and I am yet to get through them! Which is a good thing, because who knew bar soap was soooo much more economical than liquid. But, a bummer because I can’t buy more soap yet😅 This soap is so pretty.
Cash is country 100%. Oldies is 40's & 50's music. 60's, 70's & 80's rock will always be THE CLASSICS. I Hope You Dance is by Lee Ann Womack and yes it country from the early 2000's. :)

So there is no wrong answer to this question. And I think I would sing every word too. Dancing is a lot of work 😂
Okay I love the country convo and here is my two cents: I Hope You Dance is from 2000 by Lee Ann Womack and the moment you said that I knew what you were referencing 🤣 Faith Hill is also 90s Patsy Cline is definetely oldies but also goldies Johnny Cash is DEFINITELY country and I think he'd say that too. He did marry into the Carter Family which was country royalty
The song is literally called I Hope You Dance by Leanne Womack from May 2000
That song was my whole life and personality when I was 4 or 5 😂
Omg I haven’t thought of that song in *years*. Used to love it so much!
My mum had it on a compilation CD of inspirational songs 😂 it was a 2 disc set, not a mix tape lol.
Honestly I've had this song stuck in my head for a week and hearing them talk about in a video I'm watching late threw me 😂
That is a great idea for a soap theme
A friend of mine who makes candles describes masculine cologne scents as “hot man in a can” and it kills me every time 😂
I must say I thought your sweatshirt said “Don’t make your lack of ‘whiskey’ my problem”. I thought, wow! Katie’s got some sass after the RUclips short comments. (Referring to a story you posted)
I also read it that way initially.
SCREAMING 😂😂😂
Same!!😂
I had to go back after reading your comment and look a little closer because I also read whiskey. I think it may be a SMALL hint
Looking for this comment! I knew it couldn't just be me 😂

Check out hugo he sings Johnny Cash real well

Aaaahhh!!! I was trying so hard to remember the name of the china that blue reminded me of! Thank you!
An oldie is all music that came before your own teens. Also, new fangled racket is all music that comes after your 20s.

Katie out here creating the recipe for the perfect man. Pretty soon she's about to create the Powerpuff Girls!
WAIT WHY WOULD THAT BE SUCH A GOOD SOAP TRIO THO?!?!?
@@RoyaltySoaps I would love a Sailor Moon inspired soap collection!!!! It would hit me right in the childhood.

I love the design for this soap with the gold marbling effect, and the scent notes sound so lovely! I’m excited to see this soap in its final form!
I loooooove this soap! Johnny Cash is definitely Country.
I love the theme! Happy to see Jamie on the cover ❤ I would classify Johnny Cash as Country.

Looove this that fragrance description and the beautiful marble effects immediately know I want to buy this bar. ❤❤❤

Van Gogh soap!? 😍
Outlander is my #1 favorite books and show!
this marble blending and colors are STUNNING.
How have you not made a soap video with your husband yet, you two are hilarious together
Please go back in time a bit, as there are some not only with Caleb but Katie's brother too. Very amusing, and a real treat when they happen.

I think someone once told me it has to be over 30 years old to be considered an oldie. But honestly for me, music has no age if it still slaps.
Katie! I have whimsy, and I need that sweater! It's fabulous!
Omg this is brilliant
The colour scheme before the gold, and the top just gave me wedgewood china vibes and i love it

I think any music or movie over 20 years old is considered an oldie(which makes me feel old at 37) Johnny Cash is definitely country
Oh Jamie! Love that character
I'm currently reading the books. So great!
This is my first time commenting, but I love the result you got with these bars!! They are stunning!!
