The salmon, the crabs, the hunting, the mushrooms, the herbs! Such a beautiful insight into the modern day life of the Quinault nation, thank you for capturing this!
Taus, thank you and the Quinault Nation so much for this. Your insight and curiosity are a gift to us all. May the ways of traditional peoples be remembered and valued.
OMG...so happy to have found this video! This place and its people I hold close to my heart...so blessed to have fished with my friend Inky Charly and to have known Tandy - memories of fishing the Raft River with Otto when Inky was busy. Visiting the fish house and eating that canned sockeye. Getting to the merch for breakfast before we hit the river for salmon or steelhead. Thank you so much to the Quinault folks, you have enriched my life and given me so many wonderful memories!!!
For the benefit of the story and those relying on the Closed Captioning, please edit the text. Quinault is subbed with "canal" "cornell" "cornult" and other words. "Geiger Pullman" is the name given Guy Capoeman, President and master story pole and canoe maker. During the Fisheries section, the Ho River is captioned as "whole river" etc. It's important to have it right.
Hi Taus and team. Wonderful episode! Magnificent to see how you continue to find amazing stories and exorbitantly interesting people! Keep up the good work.
It's great when you can see how much he's smiling even through a mask! I've gotta get back up there, where you have rain and trees. When I come I'll bring limes lemons and avocados. And arugula. I'll look forward to more fish and cabbage.
Agree 100% I have had the opportunity to know this young man He is intelligent, kind and very respectful. He cares not only for his people but loves his culture, traditions and history. Thanks Titus. 👍
I jus saw Titus in June for a memorial. Titus is a good kid. I love watching him and Guy. They are a neighboring tribe from me. I have many friends in Taholah. I wished it was closer than 2 hrs away
