In general I do not recommend salt cures. Earth weakens Fire, but as we are in Period 9 (the only Fire Star), the current Period's Star in general should not be weakened, so Salt Cures are not very effect until we reach Period 1 in 2044.
The best time to add a metal cure is the week before we start the new Solar Year (start the Month of the Tiger). However, you do not want to do this on a Clash Day (the Year Animal [and Month Animal only for the working adults]) for all members of your household. NE is clear of Annual Afflictions this year (Dragon Year) and you can place the Metal anywhere in that Sector.

Jasmina I would like to ask about Yellow 5 star this year in the NE. Should we use salt cure there and what if it's in our bedroom?
Metal is always the cure for the 5 Yellow. Salt is from the earth and adding earth to a Untimely Earth Star (Star 5) only makes the problem worse.
