Refinement of an engine doesn’t only depend or assessed on the basis of NVH levels. Talking about i20, it doesn’t stand with Altroz in terms of safety and driving manners. Tata Altroz have everything solidly put together and tata cars score supremely well in NCAP. Tata is not like Hyundai who don’t send their cars proactively for crash testing. Undoubtedly Tata cars can match VW/Skoda cars in coming times.
Diesel is better because.. You feel better relaxed driving and 23 avarage mileage.. No matter car is in low gear.. Just push the leg no need gear change.. Turbo also good but only given below 15 milage
This is an amazing review. Ppl rhink that bs6 means adding adblue as it is done in other cars too. In addition to that the accelerator problem is there in all cars and that is electronic problem which can be rectifies by tata easily.
being a premium hatch altraz should have a sports 100-108 bhp, city & eco. i think it will change the game. with a bit of engine refinement. then it will be an almost perfect premium hatch.✌️✌️
Ngk or bosch iridium spark plugs install karo.. initial lag and pickup gets resolved and the engine also feels more refined.. they r a bit expensive but worth it. ! Tata like all other cars install regular spark plugs .! I am refering to the petrol model viewers they diesel is good balanced car no issues !!
I am always concerned about the NVH of a diesel car. Yours is the only review which has thrown sufficient light on this. I have a Fluidic verna CRDI now. It's very refined. Is the NVH of diesel Altroz a deal breaker after Verna. I am seriously considering this car as my CRDI is 9 yrs old now. Thanks
Well, the NVH package is a little weak, being honest. Hyundai diesels are very smooth. We suggest you drive to the showroom in your own car and test drive the new one. Back to back driving is going to be the best reference point.
After buying altroz.take your altroz to a service centre,nd replace the spark plugs of the cylinders.Nd the initial throttle responce problem has been solved permentallely.

All this in cost 1.5 lac less than a i20 - and personally if you check the Altroz cabin is much more premium than the latest i20 be it touch and feel of the plastics or the cabin ambience or the seats. i 20 is only ahead in refinement nothing else

The i20 bs6 is the real king in the premium hatchback Diesel segment in terms of appearance, interior ambiance and performance. The tata Altroz will never match that..
Latest i20 interior feels pathetic and cheap I have experienced it personally in the showroom - it's all black and plasticky unlike Altroz which feels very premium from inside
Diesel is always fun to drive no matter what it will never be compared with naturally aspirated petrol. Who needs HP when we have NM 😏
