I bet very few people are going to talk about the amazing job the ref crew did with the big calls

I walked out with the players, cut out at the start because I walked with the York player that scored the bicycle kick and we got cut out :(. But I was lucky enough to meet the ref and he was a great guy and did some great calls

Good point. People have been quick to point out the mistakes this year ( with good reason) but it seemed like they got all the close calls right.

First off, congrats to the linesmen that they got all the calls right! You have to rely on yourself when you don't have VAR.
Secondly, congrats to Pacific for the victory and progressing.
Thirdly, CPL needs goal line technology. It should be cheaper than VAR and there are only 8 stadiums in the league. We would never know if the debatable situation was goal or not.

I was at the game and my seat was in line with the goal line and from my angle and the others around me the ball did go in the net but perhaps the linesman couldn't see very well from his position. I completely agree this league needs some form of goal line technology and it would be cheaper since there are only 8 stadiums at the moment.

@@jenak5190 You mean fully crossed the line? Going in the net is an obvious goal and wouldn't make this case debatable. But I am not a native English-speaker and I guess "going in the net" is North-American phrase used sometimes for goal. Cause I know the British don't use it.

@@ivanpetrov5185 Yes. Sorry about the confusion. From my angle the ball did fully cross the line.

Agreed, I was behind the goal and it was most definitely in. Had to do a little trolling though, I yelled "was that one in keeps?" At the keeper after the goal went in.

Well if that isn't the nerviest, drama-iest 1-0 match of the season, I don't know what could be. Thank you, Adonijah! I had already mostly lost my voice and probably couldn't take extra time and penalties on top of the 90...
    Onwards!! Let's go Pacific!

Yeah lmfao. That's definitely not me screaming at the top of my lungs at the sound thing when the goal goes in. I promise

If that goal had counted that would have been the most dramatic equaliser ever.

The refs were absolutely phenomenal tonight, they got every big call right. But tbf York deserved that win, they created more big chances in the second half

Officiating crew did a pretty good job on this one. York dictated play for the most part especially early on, they had a few close chances that they were unlucky enough to be unable to convert into goals.
Crowd was pretty disappointing. Would expect more for their only playoff home game.

It’s a NorthAmerican thing. There’s the regular season and then playoffs. Watch the first episode of Ted Lasso. Ted was confused by the idea of no playoffs too.
