My earliest memory having a favourite song is this one. This man is PUREST CLASS and I miss him every time. In my opinion, no other calypsonian or artiste can ever touch him. He is my all time favourite....I wish I was born sooner so I could go to see him perform live, but no. Thank God these videos exist
i can tell you are a big fan of the grandmaster, i truly appreciate all the youtube songs of the lord kitchener so that he can be with us forever. love him.
From the album The Honey 🐝🍯In Kitch (1991). It was advertised on Alvin Daniell's show Calypso Showcase (1992). Lord Kitchener (1922-2000) unfortunately in Trinidad even Soca nowadays is not worth it- with a few exceptions. Your genius is seriously missed Sir. Kaiso is non existent & I believe now even hip-hop & rap is making a splash in Trinidad. The culture has changed once more (not for better I will say). This type of storytelling is gone.
very well said. i have noticed that some islands are teaching calypso, steelband and calypso composing in schools. hopefully, this is just a decline in calypso and not the death for the music i like and grew up with.
