I have been using their line for 2 seasons now. Did a test and review (on Amazon) when I first started using it and was not totally satisfied at first. Come to find out I had just received a bad spool. One of the first batches they shipped out apparently. But they stand behind their product 1000%! Shipped me a second spool to replace that first one, plus an additional spool (different strength) and some tackle to make it right! I have used them ever since! Nice Sheepies by the way!
Hello zoffinger I really like your videos and think you are very inspirational showing that you don’t need expensive bait and expensive gear. Thank you for giving me interest in fishing and boating. Keep doing what you are doing Marty. 😉👍
Hi, I love your kayak videos. Your artistic and creative work on the kayak was awesome and gave the fishing flair. Having seen your kayak videos I feel a bond. However, few of the Jon boat videos hook me. Your boat needs your creative artistic touch. Wish you great success, Mike
Very cool video. I have a rod like that and have caught little grunts, fun stuff. Your videos are great, I really enjoy what you do with your footage. Tight lines!!
I love your videos brother. I to am a poor fisherman making the best with what I have. I'm up here in New England fishing in my pelican castaway. Glad you were able to get the hobie. That's awesome dude!
Hey Zoffinger, this is my very favorite channel on youtube. The only way you could make it better is to show the exact rig and rod and reel you use when fishing like this.
Hello Zoffinger. I just found your videos and have watched 3 of them so far. Just wanted to let u know how much i really appreciate the info u have provided. Your videos are awesome and i cant wait to watch some more. I am a Saltwater Fisherman and a huge fan of braided line. It's all I use so it's nice to know there is quality stuff out there that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Where r u from? That Bait n Tackle shop u went to for your live Shrimp looked really nice. I would love to know where it's located. Thanks again brother!!!
I was surprised you found what looks like an ice rod in Florida. Did you like using it better than the Cuban Yoyo? I'll have to check out that website later it was down right now. Thanks for great video.
Another great video, can't wait to get my yak mods finished so I can join the salty fight! If you ever take requests, I would give anything for a in-depth video of the your skeg install that is on your yak. I've seen others that have used the idea but putting those two big "holders" that hold the entire thing is a little scary. I've never drilled or attached to plastic so it's kinda hairy and there isn't too much online to see how the back end could be tackled in different ways 8) Thought I'd request it event tho I'm thinking of doing it another way! I'm sure many many people would be very appreciative of that "skeg" install 8) Take care and I'll be anxiously awaiting your next adventure. Peace fosho
Hey mark, I am a big fan of your videos, and I watch them all. This is the reason I must warn you. I believe someone has stolen your video. If you look up braided line and tiny tackle on RUclips you may find that a youtuber by the name of John smith has posted this video of yours.
Evening my friend...nice video. Just ordered some budget braid from Amazon myself...never used it before for any thing...hoping for a new bite experience. Did you have a leader on that mini rig ?...could not make out if you did or not. If you did not then using the braid straight through is ok ? Nigel.
I believe a leader (mono or fluro) is supposed to be less visible to the fish, allows for a little more stretch to act as a shock absorber and it makes tying on a hook or lure a lot easier because it's thicker.
I think maybe a 5ft medium action trout rod would be more suited for that. Give you a bit more backbone you might need for the larger sheepies. Crazy with the ice fishing rod though. Nice video! What video program do you use? I'm assumojng you're using a GoPro? Be well and fish on! Mark in Oregon
The knot can get caught up on the eyes as you cast occasionally. That's why I usually tie on a short leader. But, I'm told it's common practice to use a leader as long as the rod. So... some people claim to use knots so small that they'll pass through even micro eyes well. ME? I'm just a brute and whip the rod so hard, that when I cast, the knot has no choice but to pass through the rod's eyes! I HAVE had a lure pop off during a cast a few times because of that... And fly over the trees in front of me more than once..:^/ But not that often that I worry too much about it.
just so you know braided line cant be used to start your knot on the spool, you will need some mono the same or stronger tensile strength because it digs into the reel and provides friction and the braid just slides around if tied first
+Tamara Mejias. Besides stopping stopping any spool slip the mono backing saves you having to fill a spool with braid if you already have more distance than you need and more would be just a waste. I have always used mono backing also to stop line slipping on the spool. However some anglers are challenging that info and i have to say Broxty's comment is correct, I recently filled a small 1000 size spinning reel with 10.lb kastking braid from start to finish, keeping the line under tension so it bedded down well. End result was identical to a reel spooled with mono backing. Under no circumstances could i move the braid around the spool and it gripped as tight as any mono line. But those of us that used the early generation flat braids have to take into account how braided lines have improved since then and the generally rounder profile superlines of today seem to grip the spool much better than the earlier lines and i'm now convinced mono backing to avoid slippage is no longer needed for freshwater and inshore sea fishing. I can't say if unbacked game fishing reels would work because we are talking about great extremes of pressure that can be exerted by some pelagic species of fish, maybe a charter skipper has tried unbacked braid and could answer the question. As broxty points out the spool knot helps but i think spooling on the line under pressure is more important to how well it grips the spool. It stands to reason if the line is lightly spooled the whole lot will just spin around because it's loose coils aren't gripping . I still continue to use mono where i don't need a full spool of braid and half of the spool can be filled with mono.
I saw it in Walmart and thought it was a joke (the original reel was) but the thing is actually very nice to use in tight quarters like under a bridge.
Did you use a leader with that line? If do what kind of knot do you use to attach a fluoro leader to braided. Btw those Sheepheads look like fun to catch
My friend Michael baught one of those rods tried to get it re-lined the guy wouldn't do it cause he didn't think he would catch anything so we go bass fishing alot and thought we would go that day andichael caught a fish 3 or 4 pound bass we took a pic to then he went and took it to the guy a couple days after the rod broke
YOU ARE GREAT AT PROMOTING :D hit those likes and sub bbuttons people i want to see more from him. im getting into saltwater fishing because im moving to california :D
+Alfred Chong the Angler . If your an angler rather than a dangler the answer would be no problem especially as the shark family produces tons of species under 20.lbs and much less.

Hey, Man you have amazing videos, thx for all your advice i tried out that line it works SOOOO GOOOODDDDD thx man goodluck-Preston

Love that setup to spool your line, umma make me one of that lol nver even thought of that
idk... this is my fav episode for w/e reason

Thanks for the heads up.
Hello Marty I was wandering , do you know if it's safe to buy direct from posaidon web site? Nice video by the way.
Wow way back thank you again do you miss your land hut?
Evening my friend...nice video. Just ordered some budget braid from Amazon myself...never used it before for any thing...hoping for a new bite experience. does the color yellow from your braid affect your fishing like do the fish see it sometimes?
How much was your boat? I'm trying to buy a small boat that's good enough for fishing in a harbor and some times a mile or two out in the ocean
Just one little GoPro for the video. A Zoom H1 for the voiceovers. A Canon Rebel T3i for the still shots and Pinnacle Studio for editing.
Awesome gift!!
Marty, i love your laugh!!! ha-ha, that's OK i do the same thing when i catch them
Great video. Could you make a video on how to filet sheepshead?
Great video as always bro. Zoffinger I was trying to see what do you use to get the underwater footage, and is it tied to a string or what???
Fish Kingz gopro on a stick
Do you use 15lb braided on your other rod-reels?
Btw those there are my ballyhoo set ups with lil floats and goldie #6 long j hooks.
Hey Marty, do the Mangrove Crabs pinch you when you catch them?
Clark Denton They pinch a little, but they can't even break your skin. I'm alway more concerned with the sharp oysters around their habitat.
When tying the Leader onto the braid won't the knot mess up your cast or is this not a problem?
The knot can get caught up on the eyes as you cast occasionally. That's why I usually tie on a short leader. But, I'm told it's common practice to use a leader as long as the rod. just so you know braided line cant be used to start your knot on the spool, you will need some mono the same or stronger tensile strength because it digs into the reel and provides friction and the braid just slides around if tied first
Not true, it all depends in the knot on the spool.
+Tamara Mejias there are braid ready spools now on higher end reels that don't need mono lines as backing
+Tamara Mejias. Besides stopping stopping any spool slip the mono backing saves you having to fill a spool with braid if you already have more distance than you need and more would be just a waste. I have always used mono backing also to stop line slipping on the spool. wendy Jones don't be a cheap angler, buy lots of braid
great vidja! my friend I enjoyed it..toppy
I use braided line for bass fishing on Lake Okeechobee, where did you get the small rod?
I saw it in Walmart and thought it was a joke (the original reel was) but the thing is actually very nice to use in tight quarters like under a bridge.
Thanks
is this mat lashegh bridge in florida
what size hook were you using?
Marty, is that a fly rod I see at 2:17? You ought to take up fly fishing, especially if you like a challenge.
Did you use a leader with that line? If do what kind of knot do you use to attach a fluoro leader to braided. Btw those Sheepheads look like fun to catch
I use a 'uni to uni knot' to attach the braid to flurocarbon. 15lb braid to 30lb fluro in this case.
Can u do a vid of your motor and how u rig up the gas line
Haha. I thank the stars every time the stinkin motor starts. I know very little about whether the gas line was setup for me properly or not.
I have a rod like that, it actually is pretty tough
does that hi vis yellow line affect like the fact that fish bite it or can see it?
Only if you have a fluorocarbon leader
Fish won't see if you have a fluorocarbon leader
tip, when spooling a spinning rod put the spool label down, cuts wind knots
...and flip over every 10-20 cranks.
My buddy does that but i have never found it to hurt or help but any little thing that helps.
My friend Michael baught one of those rods tried to get it re-lined the guy wouldn't do it cause he didn't think he would catch anything so we go bass fishing alot and thought we would go that day andichael caught a fish 3 or 4 pound bass we took a pic to then he went and took it to the guy a couple days after the rod broke
could you please send me a link to this exact page that you bought the line off
There is a link to the website in the description. The line has a new package now. Look for KastKing Hi-Vis Yellow Braided Fishing Line.
ok thanks
What knot do you use to connect your braid to your Fluorocarbon leader?
uni to uni knot
Watch out with braided line and sharp things!
Do you live in lakeland
What a nice guy :D
Do you still have the Jon boat
+The Gaming Commando yes
EPIC...thanks.
Bon appetit!
nice video
YOU ARE GREAT AT PROMOTING :D hit those likes and sub bbuttons people i want to see more from him. im getting into saltwater fishing because im moving to california :D
this video come out a day after my 11 birthday
As always, Marty, nicely done! The direct website url is www.eposeidon.com.
Thanks for the line, Tom!
zoffinger Happy Birthday, Marty. You're welcome.
Can you catch a shark with your tackle equipment
+Alfred Chong the Angler . If your an angler rather than a dangler the answer would be no problem especially as the shark family produces tons of species under 20.lbs and much less.
Don't laugh you gotta do a video on how you grab those crabs so fast. It must be my Shrek hands but you grab them pretty fast in normal speed
What rod did you use ?
Apache Tomahawk Ice fishing rod
